Location Details
St Day was the mining centre for mid-Cornwall until Redruth took over, and the terraces of granite cottages built for the miners can still be seen. The village was named after the obscure Saint Day or Dye (better known in Brittany). The village now has a pub, a convenience store, and an 1828 granite Gothic church. Six miles away is Portreath, a popular tourist destination known for its wild and rugged coastline. With high cliffs, secluded coves, and sandy beaches, the area has a rich industrial heritage.
Reviews
The property has history and is calm and comfortable, set in a peaceful location away from everything but, not far from anything. Back from our days' adventures, I would sit on the balcony under the tree canopy with a book, pure bliss. The hosts are lovely people and we will be returning. Thank you to the owners.
