On the Isle of Anglesey, Beaumaris is a well-known historic town situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Snowdonia mountain range, making for some of the most beautiful sunrises. Because of its Edward I-era mediaeval castle, which is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as its Victorian pier, gaol, and courthouse, it is also well-known as a major yachting hub. Many of Beaumaris's mediaeval streets are still in use today.
