River trips are offered to Salcombe in the summer to view the plethora of species that calls this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), which is also a part of the South Devon Heritage Coast, home. Walking down Kingsbridge Quay, exploring the winding lanes off Fore Street, or going to the Shambles, an Elizabethan market arcade, are all options for tourists. There are several scenic ports in the South Hams region, including Dartmouth and Salcombe, as well as beautiful Blackpool Sands in Stoke Fleming and the sandy beaches at Thurlestone, Bigbury and Bantham.
