Location Details

Whitby, a North Yorkshire beach resort and port, is located near the mouth of the River Esk. To make the most of your time in this stunning section of Yorkshire, take advantage of the area's many attractions, which include both land and sea. Everything from the North York Moors to its Blue Flag beaches may be found within a few miles of one other. Among Whitby's numerous charms is its beautiful ambiance, which is characterised by narrow streets and back alleyways teeming with restaurants and stores. Visit the harbour and lighthouse to watch the sun set, or go whale watching or on a coastal cruise to see the creatures up up and personal.. Visit the Whitby Abbey, noted for its 199 steps, or the Captain Cook Memorial Museum, which features a historical and ethnographic exhibition on the man himself, to immerse yourself in history. A wide range of attractions, from leisure facilities to nature trails, are available in Whitby. Coastal joys are also plentiful. Whitby is a great starting point for seeing all that Yorkshire has to offer, with its proximity to Robin Hood's Bay and the lively towns of Scarborough and Middlesbrough.

The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.
