Location Details
The Furness Railway made Seascale a popular Victorian holiday destination in the 1850s. Seascale's Victorian charm and coastal rail links remain today. Ravenglass is home to "L'al Ratty," a narrow gauge steam railway that runs daily through some of Britain's most scenic countryside. Muncaster Castle, with magnificent gardens and views of Scafell Pike, is minutes from Ravenglass and easily accessible by bike. This great location boasts towering peaks including England's highest peak, Scafell, and the nearby stunning valleys of Eskdale, Wasdale, and Dunnerdale. Great for exploring the coast and mountains.
