The North Devon village of Woofardisworthy sometimes goes by the name Woolsery, which is pronounced similarly. It is a mystery why it has two names while this abbreviated pronunciation has been in use since the 17th century. This village's location, close to the North Devon coast and Bideford Bay, makes it an ideal starting point for visiting the top half of the county. With a small store, a cafe, a fish and chip shop, and a pub, the community has everything you could possibly need.
