Location Details

This magnificent town in Monmouthshire can be found near the English and Welsh borders, on the southeastern edge of the Wye Valley AONB. Chepstow has a wide variety of shops, cafes, pubs, and restaurants, as well as a popular racecourse, all of which are bordered by the River Wye and dominated by its 11th-century clifftop castle, claimed to be Britain's oldest surviving stone castle. The nearby Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and Royal Forest of Dean both feature hilly, rural, riverine, and wooded terrain ideal for hiking, bicycling, and canoeing, not to mention offering spectacular vistas from nearby landmarks like Symonds Yat Rock. Tintern Abbey, Raglan Castle, Caldicot Castle, and Goodrich Castle are just a few of the many relics of the Middle Ages that can be found in the region. Underground tours of South Wales's mining history can be found at places like Big Pit, Clearwell Caves, and the Steam Railway at Lydney. Bristol, with its upscale shopping, SS Great Britain, and Areospace Museum to see Concorde, and Monmouth, with its rich history, are just two of the vibrant cities and towns in England and Wales that are close by. The top of Sugar Loaf Mountain in the Brecon Beacons, as well as National Trust properties like Tyntesfield and Tredegar Park, both offer spectacular views, and the Cotswolds are just across the border.

Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.
