West House No6 is an excellent first floor apartment situated in an ideal location on the popular Radcliffe Road in Bamburgh just a few minutes walk to the beach, castle and village amenities. The apartment is in West House, which is set in large private grounds for everyone to enjoy. It benefits from sea views, a multi fuel stove, a large spacious living room and dining area and has ample private parking. ACCOMMODATION (OVER ONE FLOOR) FIRST FLOOR Living/dining room with TV/DVD, CD player, wood burning stove and chairs and sea views. Kitchen with electric oven and induction hob, microwave, fridge and washing machine. Bedroom 1 with double bed. Bedroom 2 with single bed and pull out bed (suitable for a child only). Shower room with shower, WC and basin. OTHER FACILITIES Communal grounds and a garden hut for storage. Electric night storage heaters. All power, bed linen and towels included in the rent. Private parking for 2 cars. Strictly maximum of 3 adults only. Regret no freezer.

Nice location and a potentially lovely holiday rental. But i cannot recommend as currently there are a few issues. Firstly and most concerning is that there are no lights in the kitchen area. The under cabinet/over worktop lights are not working. There are wires hanging down and strip light units missing bulbs. The kitchen only receives light from a single bulb on the main ceiling. This is dangerous as you are forced to prepare food in the dim light available. There is a lovely bay window dining area with a table and seating but there is no lighting for the table area. So if it’s dark you eat in the gloom too. There is also no heating in the main bedroom. A night storage heater is installed but it does not work. Kitchen cupboard shelves were dirty as was the hob and the bathroom floor. The property is on the market and I think the owners are not very interested in maintaining the higher standards that the price demands. It would be very easy and cheap to remedy the kitchen lights and the dining area could also be made usable for little expense. The bedroom heating issue is a little more involved but a temporary plug in radiator would have solved the cold issue for us. Clean floors and cupboards is essential and unforgivable.
