The historic town has a weekly market as well as a wide selection of stores, bars, and restaurants. It is well-known for hosting regular festivals and fairs, including Party in the Park and the immensely well-liked Michaelmas Fair, as well as the yearly Real Ale Festival and Tandem Triathlon. The town is conveniently located for travelling by foot through the Welsh Marches, rural Shropshire, and North Herefordshire, as well as nearby Montgomery, Ludlow, and Shrewsbury, three fascinating and well-known towns. Many surrounding attractions, such as Powis Castle, the Severn Valley Railway, and hikes along Offa's Dyke and The Shropshire Way, are also available for your enjoyment.
