Drive a short distance to Portland, a wild island connected to the mainland by Chesil Beach, home to the National Sailing Academy and a stunning stretch of coastline designated as a World Heritage Site. Discover the Roman roadways, fascinating museums, and ruins of Maiden Castle in old Dorchester. Travel down the charming coastal roads and stop at Abbotsburys, a swannery, and subtropical gardens. You may also visit Casterbridge, a 7-mile drive away, written by Thomas Hardy. This is a fantastic spot for a jam-packed vacation because Monkey World and the Jurassic Coast are nearby.
