A gem in the Severn Valley, Frampton on Severn has the longest village green in England, is listed in the Domesday Book, and features Tudor and Georgian homes in addition to Cruck cottages. Wildlife enthusiasts will enjoy the designated SSSI and conservation area surrounding the village green, the Severn Estuary, known for its tidal bore, and the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal, which offers boat rentals, course fishing, and numerous breathtaking walks and cycle routes. A very short drive away is Slimbridge Wetlands, a reserve dedicated to the care and research of ducks and geese from all over the world. The Cotswold Way is also nearby, while Cheltenham, Bath, and Gloucester, a historic waterfront city with Roman foundations, Victorian Docks, and a magnificent Norman Cathedral, are all easily accessible by road.
