Party of 7 women stayed here for annual Xmas reunion weekend where we cook a full Christmas dinner and really mark the start of the festive season. Place was spotlessly clean with very comfortable bedrooms and a well stocked kitchen thank you. Plenty of parking, hot water, living space and en suites. A couple of suggestions for the owner- we would have appreciated at least one indoor light switched on at the barn to welcome us. Arriving after dark after a 4 hour journey and driving round very remote country lanes was challenging enough without arriving to the property in pitch darkness. Also, guests would really benefit from a small welcome pack on arrival- even just a bottle of milk would have been nice whilst waiting for supermarket delivery. Apart from this, a good base to explore The Lakes.

The location is quite central for the Lake District and getting from one place to another. Was disappointed with the level of cleanliness in the property and the uncomfortable beds.

This was a last minute change of venue due to problems with our initial choice of accomodation. The wintery weather actually enhanced our visit with views of snow capped peaks in the distance. The underfloor heating creates a pleasantly snug ambience and the overall finish of the interior is outstanding and extremely well finished. I am already contemplating visiting again next year.

The barn and its location is truly exceptional with panoramic views and walks all around. It was a most comfortable place to spend a weeks holiday with a good village pub serving the most excellent food and a village brewery and bakery. The location of the barn is within easy reach of Windermere, Ambleside and Grassmere so there is everything for sightseeing and walkers alike.
