I don't think we could have chosen a nicer cottage. This was our sons first time abroad and as soon as he saw the beauty surrounding the cottage he was off taking pictures. if your looking for quaint and charming with every amenity your could want this is your cottage. All of us fell in love with Ginny, the owners Airedale Terrier. She came to the door for breakfast every morning and just added to the magical atmosphere. Had wonderful days out to Fountains Abbey and so many beauty spots in Yorkshire. I would highly recommend this cottage, it is the quintessential English dream cottage that most Americans dream of. Don't hesitate to book. We are just sad we did not get to know the owners better as they lived on the property,

Had a great time, it is in a great location in between Whitby and Scarborough and in a very peaceful setting. Couldn't have asked for a better cottage in terms of amenities, all the essentials were just there.

Rated by Mrs Milnes reviewed on 21st May 2016

In stunning surroundings! It is not far from Scarborough or Whitby if you need anything, yet was isolated enough to have the peace and quiet for a relaxing holiday. An absolutely beautiful area to explore whichever direction you head in. A really cosy cottage on all fronts with the log burning fire being particularly comforting. The beds were clean, fresh and very comfortable. Really cannot say enough to compliment this beautiful cottage; I have already recommended it to two other parties who're looking at visiting the area. Had a fantastic holiday regardless of the very unpredictable weather.

A very pleasant cottage which was well equipped, very comfortable and in a peaceful location. Loved the wood burner. The owners were friendly and helpful. Overall a very good stay was had by all of us.

Rated by Mr Stone reviewed on 2nd January 2016

The property was top-notch. Our hosts have put a lot of thought, care and energy into it all, so that the cottage is everything and more than we could have expected for a relaxing week away in a home away from home. Our hosts really had thought of everything down to a ready-to-light fire, and hot water bottles. Everywhere was cosy, well equipped and spotlessly clean. It was great to stay somewhere where the host has not compromised on décor, or furnishings etc. This was a first class break. Thanks.

Swallow Cottage was a lovely comfortable place to stay for a relaxing holiday. The house and grounds are very well maintained, with nice little touches for visitors, like picnic tables around the grounds. I loved being near enough to see the sea from just up the drive from the house, and the countryside views are very attractive. The owners were friendly and obviously working hard to keep everything up to a high standard. I loved the peace and quiet and the ponies!

Rated by Mrs Lyne reviewed on 21st June 2014

The whole stay was wonderful, I would live in the cottage as my everyday home and the owner could not be more helpful.

Rated by Mrs Hoggins reviewed on 7th June 2014

Clean, well equipped and comfortable throughout. The owners of this property have done all they can to make their guests stay the best it can be. One grouse that I did have.. and not the owners fault in the least.. was to find the previous user of the washer/dryer had washed their dog's blanket and/or towel in it. My clothes came out covered in short white dog hairs.. and I do mean 'covered'. Not best pleased with that and said so in the visitors book as a reminder to any future holiday makers who may be rather short on consideration and respect for others ! But apart from that Swallow Cottage is a lovely place to stay at.

We spent a wonderful quiet week at Swallow Cottage, with our two small dogs who were welcomed enthusiastically by the owners dog "Ginnie", We could not have asked for a more lovely place to stay, with the wood burner a treat on the cold evenings after our long walks along the Cleveland Way.

My husband and I and our 2 Border Collies have just had a fantastic long weekend in this delightful cottage. The location is ideal for local walks directly out from the cottage which take in old railway track sites, Cleveland way and beauiful beaches. Pippa, Graham and Ginny the dog make you feel very genuinely welcome to their property which is located just beside their own property. Everything that you could require is provided and the cottage oozes character. It is cosy but ample sized and very quickly feels like home. We appreciated the fresh flowers and the welcome tea tray complete with locally sourced ginger and choc chip biscuits! We will definitely be going back!

Wow, what an absolutely beautiful cottage in a perfect location. The cottage was so cosy and quaint with beautiful furnishings and such attention to detail. The farm and it's land were beautiful, stunning views and perfect location for local attractions. The owners made us feel so welcome and their Airedale Terrier Ginny was the perfect playmate for our terrier Archie. The owner gave us vouchers for money off at the Sea Life Centre which saved us £15. The cottage was beautifully clean and very warm and cosy. They had provided a great travel cot and highchair for our baby daughter. When we arrived there was a pint of milk in the fridge and all tea and coffee making facilities ready for us with gorgeous locally made cookies, wonderful touch. Cannot fault Swallow Cottage one bit and can't wait to return.

The setting was fantastic and the cottage better than we could ever have imagined. It was a perfect relaxing hideaway with wonderful walks for all ages. The grading was too low! We will definitely be returning.

The location of the cottage was absolutley spectacular! Waking up in the morning, opening the curtains and seeing that view was a dream come true. The perfect place to relax and get away from it all. The owners were very friendly and made us feel very welcome.

Friendly hosts, very clean cottage, kitchen well enough equipped to cook a great Christmas dinner, and we have been provided with a proper Christmas tree! Lovely view and quiet area, great area for walking and fossil hunting, we even saw seals.

We found the owners very helpful. It seemed that we had the whole of the farm to ourselves, as they were not "in your face".

We cannot recommend this cottage, or it's location highly enough. Very comfortable to come back to after a hard day's walking with the dog!

Second time we have stayed at this cottage. It is a fantastic cottage in a very relaxing location. We like it a lot and have recommended to friends who have also stayed.

The cottage was like a home from home, a great place to come back to after a day's exploring. There was just everything you needed, but know you would have forgotten yourself. The welcome was great and the tea and biscuits waiting for us when we arrived was a brilliant touch. A great location for Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay, the North York Moors Railway and just ambling about.
