Reviews

Corner cottage is charming and full of character. It is set within lovely gardens full of birds and bees enjoying the many plants and flowers. The small village of Cropton is very attractive and has a great pub and brewery which serve excellent food and local beers. It isn't too far to Pickering for shopping and to Sutton Bank where there are lots of walks and trails to follow. Castle Howard, York and Helmsley are also within easy reach along with many other pretty villages.

Corner Cottage is an absolutely wonderful base for exploring the North Yorkshire Moors and coastline. The cottage itself is more spacious than we were expecting and is extremely comfortable, especially when the night's a bit chilly and the log burner's put into action. The cottage provides everything you need for an enjoyable stay and the beds are extremely comfy. We were impressed with how well equipped the kitchen was and what a good size it was too. The garden is lovely and while we were there we were able to wander out and eat raspberries off the bush. Location wise the cottage is right next to the New Inn, which serves very good food, and has walks straight out of the door so it's great for anyone wanting to explore the area on foot. Pickering is only a few minutes drive away and there are loads of places which are accessible in short driving distance. For any stay here I would recommend taking the Pickering to Whitby steam train and spending a few hours in Whitby, especially if you like fish and chips as Maggies Cafe is amazing. There isn't any wifi or mobile signal in the cottage (walk up to the campsite next door if you must get a signal) and it was amazing to be able to walk through the door and know we were out of communication with the outside world. I think that made our holiday even more relaxing as we ended up playing games in the evening rather than sitting on Facebook! I would highly recommend this property and it's clearly set up for dog owners and parents of small children so it's a perfect all rounder. My only sadness is that our dog died in May and we originally booked the cottage with him in mind. He'd have loved it.

A lovely comfortable cottage which was spotlessly clean and in wonderful surroundings. The interior and garden were pretty, very dog friendly, and there were lots of walks from the door. A great location for visiting the surrounding area.

The cottage was lovely, comfortable and well equipped. The owners were very attentive. In a great location with plenty of stunning walks on the doorstep, would recommend both the cottage and location.

A charming comfortable cottage in a superb location. There were lovely walks from the cottage without having to use the car all the time. Had a great pub next door and a comfortable bed at the end of the day. We couldn't have asked for more.

A lovely cottage in a great location, one of the best we've ever stayed in and would certainly recommend. Plenty of space for four people and a dog, the separate tiled room at the end of the kitchen is great for keeping the dirt from boots and a muddy dog confined to one place. Although the pub is right next door we were never disturbed by any noise even over the New Year, it serves great food and is dog friendly too. There are several walks that are easily accessible straight from the cottage and the area is full of activities for both the young and old.

Beautiful period cottage. Large enclosed garden. The log burner was easy to use with more than ample logs in the store. Brand new stunning kitchen with top of the range crockery and glasses. Lovely and relaxing. A wonderful New Year break.

Corner Cottage, Cropton is a marvellous a place to take a break. Cottage is wonderful - well equipped, cosy and comfortable. Excellently placed for trips around North Yorkshire Moors and further afield at York and the coast. Cottage is right next to the The New Inn pub which itself is well worth a visit - own brewery for really good beers and very good food. No stay here should be without a ride on the North Yorkshire Steam Railway.

The cottage was superbly located for touring, walking and drinking. The enclosed garden was so useful for retaining the dog and despite being mid May, the central heating and log burner proved to be very effective.

A beautiful, well appointed cottage renovated and decorated to a very high standard. Plus a beautiful garden in a lovely village surrounded by beautiful countryside. The owners had obviously thought very hard about making the cottage as comfortable and welcoming as possible.
