Reviews

It's very handy for the bus station, high street, and accessible to the rail station. The photo clearly shows that there are steps to the front door. The kitchen is well-equipped and there's a good view over the hills from the front room.

This was a very well equipped cottage, very close to the town centre. Comfortable and quaint. Because of its elevated position it would not suit anyone with mobility difficulties. There is a parking space but it is not the easiest to access. Also, although the shower is a wonderful sight to behold, it is difficult to get in and out of if you are not very mobile. As we are both fit and active it was wonderful for us and my wife and I had a fantastic stay

We liked the central position of Journeyman Lost, it was a real bonus.

Journeyman Loft is a really tip top property. It is cosy, quiet and characterful but with all the mod cons (and more) that make life easy. The proximity to the town is brilliant and the parking space a real bonus.

My husband and I have just had the pleasure of staying at Journeyman Loft for a few days and found it to be completely gorgeous. A cosy, characterful property with a real contemporary twist. The furnishings are of a very good standard and the crockery etc modern and attractive. The shower is something else again. What a treat! It is quiet and yet perfectly located for the town. The parking space a real bonus. We loved it.

Liked the communication and service provided by the owner, and the overall presentation of the property was excellent. The proximity of Journeyman Loft to the bus and train stations, High Street and main routes in and out of town made getting into and out of town really easy. We had a very enjoyable stay.

A nice little place for two. Large comfortable bedroom and bathroom with a nice modern kitchen and newly installed wifi. Centrally located to the town center with off street parking. It's not for someone with mobility problems though because the front entrance has a lot of stairs and a VERY steep and narrow driveway. But all in all I had a very nice stay and I'd stay there again the next time I visit Skipton.

Quirky cottage - clean, well equipped and functional with immediate access to town and shops.

Rated by Mr Turner reviewed on 2nd September 2014

We liked everything about the holiday, could not fault it at all.

This was one of the best self catering cottages that I have stayed in. On three levels which made it unusual and to my mind more attractive. Less mobile folk might want to know that there is quite a steep gradient up from the town centre plus steps up to the cottage and the internal stairs. Ideally located for walking, touring. Also Ideal for visiting without a car as bus-station, railway station and shops are all just a short walk away. Very friendly and helpful welcome by the caretaker of the cottage.

Great location. Nicely equipped. Clean and comfortable. Split level, so up and down stairs a bit. Really nice to leave car behind and be able to walk out and about - town, canals, moors, woodland, etc. Skipton has some good places to eat, some good shops/market for a self-catering stay, and good public transport.

Nice and central for all amenities in Skipton, and lots to do in the surrounding area.

Rated by Mrs Bye reviewed on 18th June 2014

The location of the cottage, in the heart of Skipton, meant that it was great leaving the car outside the property and walking into town or to the bus & train station to travel further afield.

Rated by Mr Gentry reviewed on 31st May 2014

The cottage was extremely well equipped with everything we needed and in an excellent position for Skipton and the Dales.

Rated by Mrs Drew reviewed on 17th May 2014

Great location - very central for the town. The property was very warm and welcoming. Would visit again.

Rated by Mrs Pilkington reviewed on 26th January 2014

This is a lovely little cottage ideally situated in the centre of Skipton - it was great to be able to park the car up & walk to all local amenities. Cottage itself was attractively decorated, well supplied with everything you'd need for your stay - really enjoyed the large multi headed walk in shower after a long day out. There is also a really nice log burner to add to the general cosyness.

Excellent central location. Superb accommodation. Skipton is a great base for a Yorkshire holiday.

Rated by Mr Ball reviewed on 11th October 2013

I thought the property was lovely, very cosy and well equipped, with really good attention to detail. Ideal apartment for me, and very close to Skipton Town Centre. Good to have off road parking. I loved it, and will hopefully be back. No complaints at all.

Rated by Miss Leary reviewed on 4th October 2013

The cottage is really comfortable, with many small details which you do not always get in holiday cottages. The huge bed is really comfortable, and the shower is wonderful. The cottage is very central, and yet in a very quiet location.

A very comfortable cottage. It was brilliant that we could leave the car and use good public transport. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Rated by Mrs Maxted reviewed on 17th July 2013

The location was excellent, particularly the closeness to Skipton town centre, the railway and bus stations. We found it to be a spacious and well appointed property.

The Journeyman Loft was lovely place, good location and easy to walk into Skipton.

Rated by Miss Stokes reviewed on 18th March 2013

In 30 years catering this is about the best property we've stayed. Cannot recommend it too highly. A truly splendid property.

Rated by Mrs Nurse reviewed on 24th January 2013

We were made very welcome and there was tea and milk for us upon arrival. Good quality tourist information and the welcome pack and information pack for the property was excellent. It is a great central location to walk round Skipton and a good base to explore further around Yorkshire. Everything is provided for a comfortable stay for two.

Rated by Mr Malone reviewed on 16th November 2012

The holiday provided everything we wished for and more. Location excellently placed for town centre shops but equally easy reach of countryside.

Rated by Mrs Clarke reviewed on 27th October 2012

Skipton is a great place for touring the Dales. Journeyman Loft is very central and means you can dispense with the car if you want to. The owners were very responsive and helpful when we encountered a small problem.

Rated by Mrs Buchan reviewed on 26th September 2012

This flat is certainly conveniently placed in the centre of Skipton but in a a quiet corner. It was small but sufficient for two adults and had been recently refurbished to a very good standard.Access would certainly be a problem for many people. Parking is up a very narrow and steep alley;reversing out was extremely tricky. In addition, the outside stairs were alsoquite steep. We enjoyed our stay but this flat is not for the fainthearted!

Rated by A FlipKey verified reviewer reviewed on 5th September 2012

We enjoyed the fact that being in Skipton gave us the mix of town and nearby countryside to enjoy. The flat itself was very clean and well maintained. The lady looking after it for the owners was extremely helpful.

Rated by Mrs Gibson reviewed on 30th July 2012

We liked Skipton and the property was in a convenient position, close to the town centre, and yet quiet with a good panoramic view.

Rated by Mr Boon reviewed on 25th July 2012

It was spotlessly clean, everything was there that was needed and more. The cottage is in a good location and the bus station is very near. I would rent the cottage again.
