The property was beautifully decorated and had everything you would require.

Cosy, clean and well presented cottage. Friendly and helpful owner adding a few complimentary extras.

The owner made us very welcome. The best thing about the cottage is the fantastic setting, we spent hours outside watching the wildlife, and listening to the curlews, and I even took up my paints again for the first time in years.

We enjoyed our stay very much and hope to return.

It was a perfect cottage in an idyllic location, perfect to get away from the every day hustle and bustle of life. This cottage was delightful with wonderful views. It was very tastefully furnished and we were given a warm welcome by the owner. There are local maps of the area for your use and plenty of reading matter, plus binoculars for you to watch the wildlife on the lake. We certainly hope to return and would have no hesitation in recommending it.

We adored our time in Ashbank Cottage. We took lovely walks and enjoyed the stunning countryside views. Our favourite part was the personal aspect of staying in a cottage and meeting the owner, rather than staying in a large impersonal hotel. There was a lovely collection of books and DVDs and we felt connected to all who had stayed there before.

The place was very welcoming and well laid out. Very peaceful and good walking country.

We have stayed in many self catering properties and this is without doubt the best equipped, smartest and cleanest property we have ever rented and excellent value for money. There is the added bonus of it being situated in a beautiful area.

Beautiful views of the hills around. Having a wood burner kept us cosy on evenings. So easy to get to both the Dales and the Lake District, we were spoilt for choice on where to go.

A cottage that was comfortable, clean, well quipped with pleasing décor throughout and the view was good from the French windows. Our visit was to be a peaceful, relaxing, 'away from it all' long weekend and all elements of our stay in this lovely cottage ensured that.

Having rented a lot of cottages in the past, we think this was the best we have ever had the pleasure of staying in. The scenery is awesome, the welcome was wonderful, the general area was to our liking, quiet & restful. We would recommend this cottage to everyone. A Great place to stay.

Comfortable cottage and welcoming owners - a gem of a cottage.

The owners were extremely welcoming without being invasive. Views from the patio door. Puppies and foals were a bonus, but the ever changing sky was absorbing.

The standard of the property was out of this world, from the excellent welcome pack through to the outstanding view through the patio doors. We had a very warm welcome from the owners. We particularly enjoyed watching the horses and chickens on the paddock outside the patio doors.

We had an excellent holiday. The view out the window is of outstanding beauty. The property and the environment was magnificent. The owners were kindly and they gave us a warm welcome.

The hosts provided that little extra that made the holiday. The glorious panorama from the cottage and being able to sit outside for my 60th birthday afternoon tea, whilst being visited by the free range hens, all added to the peace and contentment.

Ashbank cottage was for us the ideal country cottage, in a beautiful location with great views and all the amenities one could wish for. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The accommodation was very clean and well presented with a generous welcome pack complete with chocolate truffles and farm fresh eggs among other delights. Bubble bath and plenty of towels were provided and the whole place was warm and comfortable.
