Reviews

An excellent property which is kept spotless. It's welcoming and cosy with all you need for break or holiday The essentials were all there. An extremely peaceful location. Communication was spot on. Nearby Pocklington is a lovely little town with the nearby Burnby Hall gardens a peaceful oasis. The wolds to the north are ideal walking places and cycling if you can mange hills and narrow roads. Cycling to the south of the cottage is flat. We would highly recommend a stay at the cottage...Oh the village pub food is excellent.

Old Orchard Cottage was a home from home - very comfortable, very clean. We loved having a washing machine and 2 toilets particularly with 2 daughters!! We had a fabulous holiday - even with the rain at the beginning of our week!!

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful well presented, home from home property. It was fully equipped to suit our families needs with a lovely garden for the children to explore, games, books and very comfortable rooms to relax in. It is excellently located for Yorkshire and within good distance to other must see attractions. Highly recommend.

The cottage was in a nice, quiet setting. It has everything to be a home from home with Wi-Fi, Sky TV, flat screen TV, DVD player, etc. It was nice and warm with under floor heating throughout and the bathroom had a decent shower. There were good quality fixtures and fittings, the bedrooms had comfortable beds and plenty of storage space.

A lovely cottage in a quiet village. The bed was very comfortable and we felt really rested after a week here. It had great WiFi, Sky TV and sound system. The cottage was very warm with a nice garden to enjoy in the sunshine. We felt very private even though the owners lived next door. Would definitely visit again.

The owner was very friendly, the accommodation was superb and so clean. It was also not too far from a park and ride facility. You could also have music throughout the whole house, not just restricted to one room, enabling unrestricted movement around the building.

We had a fabulous quiet week away at Old Orchard Cottage - the owners who live next door were fab in every way. The bungalow has every gadget including Sky and WiFi which were great for the kids! A home from home and dog friendly too - our Labrador loved the owner's Corgi! The local pub was good for food and the owners were really lovely. So relaxing - we were lucky to get fab weather all week. If you want a quiet relaxing break in a small friendly village then this is your bungalow to book - thanks to the owners.

We recently stayed at Old Orchard cottage for a short break to celebrate my husbands birthday. The cottage was really lovely, and very modern. All the rooms were well furnished and the kitchen was equiped with everything you would need. There is a small private garden at the back of the cottage which was ideal for our bbq. The cottage is located in the small village of Allerthorpe and is just a few minutes walk from the local pub which we visited a couple of times, The owner who lives in the house next door was very friendly and helpful giving us details of places to visit and various places to eat out. The nearest shops are a few minutes drive away in Pocklington. There are a few restaurants and takeaways here too. We visited a small town called Beverley where there is a market on Saturday. We also went for a very pleasant walk along a disussed canal starting at the canal head near Pocklington (this was recommended by the owner) its a shame the weather hadn`t been better! A short drive away from the cottage is a village called Melbourne where you can take a 30 minute ride on a canal boat (this is free and runs on a Sunday) it was very pleasant and relaxing and the guy was very informative. We all had a great weekend staying in this very comforable cottage, and would definately recommend it.
