Location Details

Positioned on a hill overlooking Morecambe Bay is the small village of Bardsea. This remote settlement grew from a small fishing village and farming area to become a major transportation link for coal, iron ore and corn. Today, Bardsea still retains its fishing heritage, and features two pubs, both of which serve fine ales and good food. The village itself is located close to Furness Abbey, whilst the market town of Ulverston is just two miles away, and maintains its street market tradition, hosting one every Thursday and Saturday throughout the year. Ulverston is also the location for many festivals including an amazing lantern procession in November and a Dickensian weekend in early December. With all the attractions of the Lake District National Park within easy driving distance, and the sandy beaches of the Furness coast close by, this peaceful spot has plenty to offer.

Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.

We have just got back from a fab weekend at Eden House, with 3 generations sharing a house, this had everything we needed and more. It was perfect getting away and spending time with our families. The house was fantastic, excellent value for money, with plenty of space. The picture of the kitchen sealed the deal for me and it did not disappoint, it had EVERYTHING we could possibly need in terms of utensils, pans etc. And the fridge was a hit with the kids and adults alike. The farm was an added bonus! The owners were wonderful and spent time showing us around the farm and let us meet all the animals. We took a short drive upto Conniston and found a lovely spot to take our SUP's out. Next year's trip is already being discussed, we will be back!!

What a lovely stay we had at Eden House for my partners birthday! Comfy beds, really really clean. Hot tub was really lovely and clean as was the sauna. The ping pong table for a lot of use and the kitchen was equipt with anything we needed. I would say the bedrooms and living area could do with a little update however we spent the majority of our time in the hot tub which was amazing and hot or in the kitchen. The only thing I’d say is that the WiFi didn’t work and the tv didn’t get signal on most channels however we didn’t mind as we were being tech free for the weekend. Lovely location with some great walks near by and cycle routes. Amazing scenery! Also a lovely pub called the ship was a 5 minute walk away. Perfect for a huge group, we would definitely come back.

Eden house is tucked away just off the main road. Even though it is so close to Ulverston (closest co-op is a 2 minute drive up the road), it is perfectly secluded. Due to it's location it doesn't have great reception however there is good wifi signal over the entire house. The beach and buddhist monastery are only a short walk away. The house itself is very well equipped with everything that you would require. The beds are comfortable. Even though we had the entire house between 4 of us, it felt very homely. There are some animals on the property, some pigs, goats, chickens and ducks. We fed the animals on one of the mornings which was a lovely! It is great to see all the chickens roaming around on the grassland during the day! Can not say enough good things about the place! To top it off, the people that manage it and the owner are really friendly and helpful! I would definitely recommend Eden House. Can't wait to visit again!

We booked the property for a family birthday. The actual property doesn't resemble the pictures. The layout is completely different to what we were expecting and the decor is a little less modern than perhaps advertised. That being said the property is still lovely. It's set in its own grounds. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need and ended up being where we all congregated anyway. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The numerous bathrooms and toilets were so handy. The sitting room was especially cosy on a night and we appteciated the little touches that made the property feel more like a home than a rental. The trampoline was a great addition for the kids and the hot tub pleased everybody. The only thing we would suggest would be more lighting on the path between the hot tub and the extension as it did get quite dark on a night. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property. It has so much potential!

I do not have one bad thing to say about this place. Our Group 6 adults and 2 children under 4 stayed for a week. And i was very impressed, the bed rooms were nice and comfortable, the living room warm, inviting and spacious. The Kitchen was clean and had everything that you needed. Hub Tub and Sauna were great and in excellent condition. The best part about this place is the location, it feels very isolated with only tow other houses there, but there is a long driveway which is beautiful, and loads of walks to go on, for example the beach is within walking distance and so is a buddist temple.

Eden House was a home away from home. Everything we needed was there and the house and grounds were beautiful. It is certainly somewhere we would recommend and we plan to stay again in the future.

Just returned from a weekend away at Eden House and it was amazing! Plenty of space for all of us, comfy beds, a fantastic kitchen that had everything you could think of and plenty of bathrooms/toilets. The grounds were lovely but unfortunately we didn't get chance to use the hot tub - maybe next time! All in all we had a fantastic time and would definitely stay there again and won't hesitate in recommending it to friends and family.

A well equipped, well furnished, spacious house in lovely grounds. We enjoyed the hot tub! We were lucky to have beautiful weather but I think would be just as lovely in the snow!

Rated by Mrs Cooke reviewed on 19th October 2015

The accommodation was very nice and the position of the house was excellent. The grounds are lovely and both the sauna and jacuzzi are great.

Rated by Mr Woods reviewed on 9th September 2015

The house was very spacious and was easily big enough for our party of 14. The hot tub and sauna were definitely a bonus and the gardens were beautiful. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our break at this wonderful property, it is placed in a good location for Windermere and the rooms were comfy and airy. I would definitely recommend and hope to return next year.

This cottage was perfect for 14 adults, we had a fantastic time and it was particularly good that we could all get in the living room and dining room together without being squashed! The gardens were perfect and the hot tub was brilliant to relax in and was well maintained!

Rated by Miss Wilkes reviewed on 16th June 2015

This was a great place for a girlie get together. Just what we all needed. The hot tub was brilliant and all the little things that made it a home away from home. Will go back again next year.

Rated by Miss Hutchinson reviewed on 13th June 2015

We are three generations of family and although this house is brilliant for our party (we were here last year), it is a shame about sharing the grounds with Eden Lodge, because the Lodge residents have to access the grounds via pathways either side of the house and it made the house residents feel a bit vulnerable, especially with the little ones. One of the paths comes very close to our hot tub/sauna area and feels a bit invaded. One evening I went to the bins and on return crossed paths with a gentleman, carrying a drink, going to the hut in the middle of the garden, where we later discovered the other group were meeting. I think perhaps boundries would help. We didn't feel as relaxed as the previous year. Other than that, everyone of us enjoyed this house for a second year.

Rated by Rossendale116 reviewed on 4th June 2015

The house was well equipped with something for all ages, for example; table tennis table, trampoline, hot tub & sauna. The setting within the hotel gardens is wonderful. A quiet secluded spot suitable for families with children.

Eden House is a brilliant house The beds were very comfy and there was everything you could need with lots of space to put your own things. Would definitely go there again.

Rated by Miss Bell reviewed on 25th March 2015

Just had a weekend away with the girls and this house was brilliant there were 12 of us and there was plenty of space. It looks like the house has had a bit of a makeover as most of the rooms were neutral unlike the pics. The house is short of nothing with brilliant bathrooms and a fully kitted out kitchen, everyone commented about how comfy their beds were and there was an abundance of towels and bedding. Also you cant forget to mention the hot tub it was great. All in all fantastic stay and would definitely go back. It looks like they are converting the hotel next door into a similar type of thing which will be amaxing as its massive All im all great time was had

The cleanliness of the overall property and the family loved their table tennis and the hot tub. Fantastic environment and didn't really need to go anywhere as everything was available to do that the property would certainly recommend this website and property to any of our friends and family and will be looking to hopefully book this again.

An excellent property which was well located for exploring the Lake District. The House was extremely well presented with attention to detail, everything anyone would need in a home was provided. The hot tub and sauna were clean, well maintained and a plus for all the family.

Everything you could possibly want in the kitchen, including cake tins and pans big enough to cater for the number of people in the house. The hot tub, table tennis table and sauna were a hit. The best equipped house we have stayed in.

Rated by Mrs Stock reviewed on 4th November 2013

Visited with a group of friends. Kitchen upstairs was large well equipped ,plenty of seating. Lounge downstairs wasn't very suitable for a large group, seating a mixture of leather and reed sofas / chairs as these were not comfy. Garden overgrown with mixture of balls everywhere. Large plant pots by patio doors filled with cigarette ends ( these were not ours ) Private hot tub not in use until 24 hours after our arrival. We were offered to use the one beside the hotel conservatory,we only used this once as there was a feeling that you were being ' watched' though we did not see anyone in the hotel. We would have liked to book some therapy treatments but were unable to make contact with anyone at the Hotel to book said treatments as the Hotel was all locked up! Not enough garden seating for our large party. The decor of the house was very bright with orange/ red /yellow/ purple/ green an other mixes of wild colours on the walls.I suppose someone likes it. Trip to the Temple was marvellous. We enjoyed our stay but would not go again.
