Reviews

Great views, and affords plenty of space both inside and out. Unfortunately we found the property cold, rather like a rented house. The TVs is ancient and we struggled to read the script on the guide, subtitles are not legible due to the narrowing of its tube. The towels were limited and old, I used my clean dog towel for myself; shower over bath is disconnected but the two showers were great. Bed in 2nd double very squeaky and worn; when I looked under bed to check I had packed everything I could see why it was so uncomfortable as there was a rip in it and stuffing coming out so it must be older than the tv! A few things you may need to take: Clean dish cloth and sponge, any cleaning products for bath/ toilets, kitchen surface. Dishwasher tablets Hand towel for downstairs loo. DVDs, player but no library. Tea coffee and milk for your first cuppa as no welcome pack. Plastic plates etc to use if you want to take a picnic out to beach etc Cork screw that works. Oven Grill pan rack for sausages, steaks etc to cook on. A torch as we had two power outages, one in area one localised to property late in the evening after the owners of the property had turned in for the night. Little folding beach chairs to take to beach or your own beach towels. Games... jigsaws, scrabble, cards etc for rainy days. We did enjoy our time in the area and liked coming back to Water's House knowing we could sit in the conservatory and relax.

Lovely house with amazing views over the sea. Very quiet location. Spacious house with 3 bedrooms, one with a lovely en suite and the main bathroom was just beautiful. Separate dining room and a utility room but my favourite was the conservatory. We spent most evenings in there with a glass of wine. The house has wooden floors, wooden doors, and a wooden staircase which all looks lovely but it's very creaky and echo's a lot. Could do with some rugs to soften it. The bed in the second bedroom also creaks - a lot, and the mattress has seen better days , but I am very fussy when it comes to a bed!! Also, the television is ancient and channels are very limited. This didn't bother us but if you have children it may be an issue. All that aside, it was a lovely house and we had a fantastic time. The pub that is a mile down the lane is only open Friday and Saturday evenings from 9pm but the pub in Carrick (3 miles away)- Colfers, just up from the Red Door cafe (which you must visit) is a typical Irish pub. Lots of character and very friendly. There is also a little shop there where you can get supplies but there is also a supermarket in Wellington Bridge which is also 3 miles from the cottage. We also tried the take away just up from the Colfers pub and it was very good indeed. Hook lighthouse is well worth a visit as is Tintern Abbey.

Walked in to a spacious house it looks like a cottage on the outside but a house on the inside and it host three bedrooms which will comfortably suite 6 one of those with an ensuite. The biggest bathroom I have ever seen (both a shower and a free standing bath with looks out on to the bay. The house being on the beach coast was never cold. “The house is in the most spectacular setting right on the coast. You could watch the sun come up every morning and the sun set each evening. Real peace and quiet and fantastic starry sky at night. The beach is only a short stroll down but the approach is a bit scary due to the cliff erosion. We chose to drive round to a little bay and access the beach from there" If you want relaxation its a perfect place or even just a base you cant go wrong this

The views from this property were amazing and the house was well kept and welcoming. The holiday as a whole in Ireland was amazing; everyone is so friendly, the food was of a very high standard and the history is astonishing.

The standard of the property was, in our view, excellent and we would certainly consider going back and also recommend to friends and family. We had a really relaxing time. It made all the difference being able to take our puppy along.
