A beautiful house set within lovely grounds, very clean with a lot of character, in a great location! The room I stayed was just stunning and the bath was nothing but perfect. Great Chinese and pub nearby. Owner was lovely and very helpful with any questions.

We booked Old Station Farm for my partner's 60th birthday celebration.” It was ideal for our party of a dozen. The cottage is very well-equipped, particularly the kitchen. It is spacious and comfortable, with the dining room an especially good social space. The Aga was excellent for cooking breakfasts for the whole party and keeping everything warm in one of the ovens so we could all eat together. There was always enough crockery, cutlery and glasses for everyone, and the dishwasher is very efficient. The location is excellent, with Malton and Pickering very close by, and York and Scarborough not much further away. Castle Howard is just minutes away, but we didn't have time to go there on this occasion. I've been before, though, and would recommend it if you have a day to spend taking in the lovely grounds, and inside the house if you must - I'm not much of a one for looking at other people's old furnishings and china and preferred the outdoor part. The house is a beautiful building, though, and it's obvious why it has featured in TV productions. The local Cantonese restauratn/pub is just a very short walk away and its food is excellent, providing eat-in or takeaway facilities. We placed our large order a few hours ahead because it was such a big order and it was ready right on time. The staff were lovely. For parties who don't want to have to cook, there are plenty of other nice-looking eating places just a short drive away. On our visit, the weather was very wet and windy, which meant we couldn't take advantage of the lovely garden and outdoor seating, though I suppose we could have done had we put on the weatherproof clothes we'd all brought. Perhaps we've just got soft now that we're older :-) Next time, though. We felt at home immediately in the cottage and would thoroughly recommend it, even for people younger than we are. It was a thoroughly successful stay in ideal surroundings.

Absolutely gorgeous house. We stayed here for an 80th and it housed us all comfortably. We travelled with our 2 children ( 5 months + 3 year old) and the room we had accommodated us all really well, a travel cot was provided, and the sofa in the room turned into a sofa bed, we had a lovely 4 poster bed and a stunning en suite. All amenities were thought of. The lounge is beautiful and very comfy... especially with the fire lit... will look forward to booking again :)

This was excellent accommodation which was luxurious but very homely. It was spacious with lovely décor; ideal for a large group who want something that little bit special for their break away. You couldn't ask for anything more.

Just returned from a fantastic week with friends and family staying at Station Farm. Twelve adults and two dogs. Opulence is the only way to describe the master bedroom and the stunning roll top bath situated in the ensuite. Wonderful dining room and fabulous gardens add to this superb property. Although this property has six bedrooms a couple of the bedrooms are a little on the small side however this does not spoil the ambience and total enjoyment of the experience of staying here.

This was the second time we have stayed at old station farm. It was the perfect venue for a family get together with ages ranging from 3.- 63. A beautiful garden, the birdsong in the morning was lovely. The bedrooms are sumptuous and the beds are so comfortable. It has 6 bedrooms. 3 with ensuites. The lounge is spacious and the dining room sat 13 of us. Happy to recommend.

A lovely cottage, large enough for a big family group but still felt very cosy. We look forward to booking a return visit.

We were looking for the perfect place for our two families to go on holiday together, cosy but big enough for fifteen (including 5 teenagers) safe for inquisitive toddlers and dog friendly. We found all this at Station Farm... It felt cosy and welcoming straight away, even though we filled it to capacity it never felt cramped... there was enough crockery for us all to eat together and if we squeezed we could fit round the huge table (there was a second table in the dining room which was a bonus. The wifi was a great bonus though perhaps it would have been good to switch it off. The bedrooms were lovely and made up well, the place was clean and the kitchen well equipped. A brilliant place to stay and discover North Yorkshire

Old Station Farm is a grand period property but still feels very homely and has everything you could need. Although our group was 12 adults and a baby there is plenty of space so that you aren't on top of one another. The local area is lovely with Malton and Castle Howard only a few miles away and a good local pub that serves Cantonese food.

My husband surprised me for my 30th with all of my family. When we pulled up I was really impressed by the building... until we walked in that is. The musty smell hit me straight away and although the kitchen was modern, there were signs informing us not to touch or lean on things because they are broken (not great when you have children). Walking into the dining area the musty/damp smell becomes more obvious and the lounge was extremely uncomfortable with a broken coffee table. We soon realised after our first night that if you wanted a hot shower you would need to be the first up, otherwise you would have to wait over an hour before you could get hot water again. Door handle fell off in the main bedroom so got stuck in the room twice before we had to just prop the door open. Once we all got home all 8 of us were sick. It was because we slept in damp conditions.

We stayed here for a friends Hen Do. It's not too far from York where we went for an evening meal. The cottage is very big and grand. Furnished with lovely antique and antique style furniture. We all felt very at home there. The large living room fire that we used on the first night made it very cosy and there was plenty of room for us all to sit around it and gossip and play games. There area is very nice and the people are very friendly. The pub/chinese restaurant a few doors down were very nice and accommodating and it's not far from Malton where we visited in the day which has some nice antique shops a farmers market etc. There's lots of tourist places near by like Castle Howard. It's a good place for large group of friends or a couple of families.

This is the perfect house for a family get together. We had a wonderful weekend with grown ups, children and dogs. Everyone loved the house and the location is excellent.

Comfortable house with plenty of space for a large party. The house had space for older members of our party to find peace and quiet away from noisy youngsters. We would definitely try to visit again and would not hesitate to recommend it.

The holiday cottage was very spacious and had a warm, welcoming feel to it. I did not want to leave! The communication with the owners was excellent, they were very friendly. The location was very good. We really liked the Cantonese restaurant which was very friendly and the food was excellent. There was a total of 14 family members in our party and everyone enjoyed their stay at this beautiful cottage. We cannot wait to return sometime to spend some quality time together in beautiful surroundings! Thank you!

A lovely old property, well maintained with décor and furnishings of a very good quality suited to the age of the building.

Dinning room was excellent, spent most of the evenings around the large table. If you get the weather the garden was nice and private and in the sun all afternoon. Really chilled out weekend, would recommend the place.
