The ultimate in "year-round" appeal, the Peak District offers countryside, picturesque villages and magnificent scenery. It touches upon six counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales.
We stayed here in late October. The cottage was lovely - had everything you needed to be self sufficient. The bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed watching DVDs next to the fire. The location was also very good - well-placed for nice local walks and visits to towns and attractions in Derbyshire. The owner was very friendly. Overall, we would highly recommend.
Had a great weekend away. Loved the location and all of the walks nearby. We were fully relaxed and refreshed and will definitely visit again. Thanks.
The owner and her family were so friendly and helpful. We knew we had assistance if we needed it. The cottage was in an excellent position for us to get to all the places we wanted to visit.
A cosy romantic hideaway, perfect for exploring the southern Derbyshire Dales.
Stayed here for 3 nights having booked last minute the night before! Owners did not seem put out by our last minute arrival. Is a self contained bedroom with sofa and TV opposite, small and cosy, big comfy king bed. Kitchen very well equipped with all amenities, cookware and plates etc. Large shower in nice sized bathroom. The pubs serving food are in a different village - Winster- a bit of a walk, and are often closed so would recommend you drive and should they be closed you can drive to the next village/s. On a Tuesday and Wednesday we ended up driving village to village with many being closed. During our visit we went to Bakewell, Matlock Bath (Abraham Heights-excellent day out without kids!), Buxton (Poole's Cavern), Castleton (Speedwell Cavern) and the castle, and also Carsington Waters. All within 30 minutes drive. Would stay again.

Lovely little place in a great location for driving to surrounding tourist attractions.
A lovely quiet location with fabulous views. Good that the accommodation is totally self contained. We appreciated the extras, a bottle of milk and a freshly made cake on arrival.
The location, the peace and quiet, the feeling of safety. Also the décor and comfort.
Lovely cottage in a picture postcard area. An excellent base for visiting the surrounding area, owners are very friendly and helpful.
We had a fantastic stay at Cobbled Corner over Christmas. The property was in a nice location and had everything we could have asked for. The owner was very helpful and made sure that our stay was nice and easy. The cottage was like a home from home and I would highly recommend this property.
The cottage was perfect for our needs, we could not find any faults with it at all.
This little cottage - double bedroom, kitchen and bathroom - has been beautifully renovated and is in the middle of the hamlet of Elton. If you go as a couple, you will need to be on very good terms as it is very small! Great location for walks. Cannot fault.
The cottage has been beautifully decorated with everything you could need including a tv with digital box, dishwasher, toaster, books and dvds etc. It's not big but its perfectly formed and more than adequate for a couple. The cottage is in a great location within easy reach of Bakewell, Buxton and Youlgrave. All of these locations have selection of pubs serving excellent food and local ales. The cottage is connected to the owners property but that shouldn't put people off. The owner is warm, friendly and there if you need her - not at all imposing. I haven't a bad word to say about our stay. The cottage is wonderful.

Cosiness and privacy along with stunning views and hiking areas. Liked that there was a selection of good DVDs, along with the normal television to watch.
An excellent location in the central peak district. The weather was wonderful too, which helped as we could maximise our outdoor time.
Quiet and pretty location. Owner was very obliging, helpful and friendly.
Peaceful and relaxing, countryside stunning.
Peaceful and relaxing, countryside stunning.
Peaceful village, good location for the White Peak and we had great weather too.
The cottage was comfortable and clean and had all the bits and pieces for a holiday, a lovely big walk in shower and lots of room to ahng things up. The bed was very comfortable and we were able to watch tv in bed. The kitchen had all we needed to cook meals though we mostly ate out, much more fun. All in all a nice little cottage we would recommend. The village was very quiet but not far to major towns and amenities. The owners were helpful though the key was not in the blister as arranged but they were quickly on the scene to let us in.
Perfect for the two of us. Gorgeous views from the village and a great rural position but still central for the areas attractions.
The friendliness of the owners. The cleanliness. Excellent!
The property is in a good area.
We loved the peaceful atmosphere of the village, and the easy access to main towns via a bus that stops almost outside. The property was first class. The owners were very helpful, on hand if they were needed but left you alone.
Apart the weather our stay was good and we did all we wanted to. We visited the national Arboretum, Chatsworth and all towns in between. Overall a nice experience.
This is a lovely little cottage in a perfect location for walking and visiting Derbyshire in a peaceful little idyllic village but close enough to many places of interest and nice places to eat. The owners couldn't be more helpful and welcoming and the cottage is very clean, cosy and has everything you could possibly need for your stay. Local villages have nice places to eat and you are perfectly situated for some lovely walks round Stanton Moor in particular. I would reccommend this to anyone wishing to holiday in Derbyshire.
A lovely clean cottage with everything you could wish for. Excellent service from the owners who were very nice and helpful. We liked the cottage very much, and the location and amenities were great. What we liked the best was the actual location of the cottage, in a lovely village in a beautiful part of the Peak District, which happens to be one of our favourite places. Would definately stay there again.
The accommodation and the location were excellent for us. All the main towns and places of interest were close at hand, and if we wanted to have a rest from driving there was even a bus service to either Matlock or Bakewell. We would definitely use this cottage again, we had a wonderful week.
The sceneary was beautifull, very peacefull village with a good bus service to most places, we used our bus passes which saved us on petrol. We were a little dissapointed in the patio aerea which wasnt comfortable.
The place was very well looked after by the owners it was situated in a handy place and was well equiped.
Elton was very peaceful and the family who own the cottage were very friendly and welcoming. We found the bus service was excellent , there were interesting places to go to, and we loved the Derbyshire Dales.
The whole place was very clean and tidy when we arrived. The accommodation was comfortable and the bed was especially so. The bathroom was roomy, with a generous walk-in corner shower. The location was peaceful and attractive. Our hosts and her family were very friendly.
Cleanliness and excellent use of space in the property. Location and proximity to wonderful countryside. The accommodation is very well maintained and the instructions from the owner were very helpful. The complete sense of privacy was very nice, and the supply of basic groceries plus a lovely cake was very much appreciated.
The location was excellent along with the view from the cottage.
A beautiful well equipped cottage. Ideal property for 2 people. Owner very friendly and helpful, baked us a delicious cake. A visit to Haddon Hall a must!
Finding the cottage even though in the main street was not easy as there was only an inconspicuous notice on the front of the main house. Once round the back, the cottage came to view - very tiny but secluded. The owner came to open up which was just as well because the key safe wasn't working properly. However from then on, all was improving. There was enough equipment to keep us happy and the large bed in the studio room was very comfortable. The bathroom was large and well equipped and the kitchen was adequate. The area was lovely: Matlock is a very nice town a few miles away and as well as a park and many shops and a river, it also provided a new large supermarket. There are many properties and gardens to visit in the area including many National Trust places and all were found to be excellent value and most interesting. We are not walkers but we did see many people walking in the lanes and up the hills. Walking at Dovedale was our main outdoor visit and this was beautiful. Chatsworth is well worth a whole day visit.
Nice, cosy and well stocked flat. Walks right on your doorstep. Lovely, friendly host made us a special vegan cake.
We found the owners ever so welcoming... They live next door but we haven't got any problem at all. The cottage was excellent.. a perfect place for couples who want a romantic get away. The village is takes you back in time... very pretty and quite. The Peak District describes with one word: beautiful.
Cobbled Corner is very tastefully furnished, in a quiet location, and beautiful countryside. Warm welcome from the owner.
Quietness of location, attentiveness of owner and general convenience. The cottage was superb and ideal for the purpose I required it. I would certainly return when a need for a quiet break arises!
Lovely cosy cottage. Very peaceful little village and plenty of old fashioned pubs to visit close by.
We recieved a very warm welcome, much appreciated as we arrived with the snow! The cottage was very well designed and had everything that we could possibly need, including a bottle of mulled wine! We were situated in the heart of the village of Elton which was very picturesque and surrounded by lovely countryside. The owners were very friendly and helpful.
A warm, cosy and extremely comfortable little cottage set in the middle of a little Peak District village. Beautiful scenery all around, very peaceful and relaxing.
The cottage in Elton was accurately described so that we knew exactly what we were going to. The owner was friendly & helpful & we would have been able to sort out any problems as we were attached to her house. ( we had no problems) The large bed-sitting room was nicely furnished & comfortable & the kitchen was modern & well equipped, likewise the bathroom. There was a small patio area which we used as the weather was perfect. Elton was very well situated to visit all the main places of interest & was a very quaint unspoilt Peak village. We had a lovely week & visited lots of places we had not been to previously. Although there were no shops in Elton the towns of Matlock & Bakewell were within easy reach and we like to be off the beaten track. The local tourist offices were very helpful & we did some delightful walks in the dales as well as visiting the old cotton mill in Cromford. We love Derbyshire & will doubt return before too long. We liked the hills & dales best; Elton is on high ground with good views,( Cambridge is very flat!) & there was nothing negative to say really which is good.
Very quiet and peaceful. Central to most villages in the area, we'd go again.
The cottage was absolutely beautiful and we were made to feel very welcome.
The peaceful location, access to variety of walking and places of interest, friendliness of owners and local people.
The cottage was beautiful. The pictures did not do it justice! The cottage was close to walks and gorgeous views. I would definitely recommend to friends and family.
Very cosy and comfortable for two! Will visit again in 2009 if possible.
The cottage was central to everywhere we wanted to go. We liked the peaceful village. Plenty of walks. Lovely, clean and modern cottage.
Totally delightful. Within reach of many interesting and beautiful places. Very peaceful.
Fantastic hostess, great location - perfect for a quiet, romantic break for two. Even included a complimentary bottle of wine to help us celebrate our honeymoon.
The accommodation was very clean and warm. This warmth is essential at this time of year.
The cottage was a wonderful retreat from the elements, warm, cosy and very comfortable. The village was well located for visits to places such as Bakewell, Matlock and Chatsworth (to name but a few) and we would certainly like to return again someday.
The cottage was exactly as portrayed, in fact the facilities were of an exceptional standard. This has been decorated with much thought and was very cosy, just what we wanted and gave us the peace and comfort that we needed. Ideal for two people. A wonderful part of the country and we will definitely visit again. The owner should be congratulated in providing such a haven.
The cottage had everything we needed and more. Perfect for a relaxing break, very quiet, breath-taking scenery.
This was a studio let and was excellent for our needs. The overall standard of the apartment in terms of quality was really very good and I would have no hesitation recommending this to someone else. The owner gave us a lovely home baked cake on our arrival which was a lovely gesture and surprise.
Superb compact cottage - very welcoming. Very convenient for many walks.
We had a wonderful time. The cottage was excellent, just what we needed and ideally situated for long rambling walks. We had peace and quiet and total relaxation which was just what we wanted.
What a lovely place, we were so pleased to have picked it. Whilst it being an annexe-type room it was so homely and spotless. I was very impressed with the decor. On out arrival we found a home baked cake and mulled wine which was a lovely welcome.
It was quiet and we got in plenty of walking. The locals was also very friendly. We had a lovely time!
Both the cottage and our hosts were extremely welcoming.
Was a lovely peaceful place to stay. Comfortable with all facilities required.
We had a great holiday at the cottage.
The property was very modernised. We had everything we needed and more. We were very impressed with our room. It was also great to have Sky TV! The bed was extremely comfy! The cooking facilities were brilliant. I give the place ten out of ten!!!
