Reviews

Very clean and spacious bungalow. Lovely views. Comfortable beds. Quiet and remote location. No starter pack of fuel as promised by Sykes. Three leaking/ dripping taps that were almost impossible to turn off.

Complete lies and deception. The site has an attractive offer for value, and when booking a cottage the price is doubled.

I love the Waternish area of Skye as it's much less busy than other areas but is just as beautiful with loads to do. The cottage is easy to find, well equipped and has fabulous views across to the Outer Hebrides. The TV signal was patchy, as was mobile reception (on EE) but there's wifi and I enjoyed the peace! Despite poor weather, I saw the northern lights on my first night (even in April), enjoyed the (rather boggy) walk to Waternish lighthouse and did trips with Wild Skye Boat Trips from Carbost and Isle of Skye Wildlife Tours from Portree, both highly recommended - see my reviews. Brae Fasach Gallery up the road (just by SkyeSkyns) is worth a visit for the artwork, a cup of tea and a natter with Ian who runs it. Will definitely come back to the cottage, hopefully in better weather when I can take advantage of the picnic bench outside.

The view out to sea from the reception and front bedroom is stunning. Wonderful restaurants across the island and nearby in Stein.

This cottage is very pleasant , extremely clean and comfortable, very quietly situated. We loved staying there and would recommend it to anyone. There is a lot to visit in Skye and we were made very welcome everywhere. There are wonderful walks, and the landscapes are breathtaking. The view from the cottage is amazing, particularly sunsets.
