We stayed at Cornfield Lodge the weekend prior to Christmas - it was the perfect stay. The lodge was decorated with twinkle lights & a Christmas tree - making it an extra special magical break. There were a hamper on arrival with all essentials: tea, coffee, snacks, CAVA! It was a very thoughtful, warming touch. We arrived & within a couple of hours the owner were on sight to show us how to use the hot tub & other facilities. The owner approachable & available to support at any time. The location is also peaceful, tranquil & quite - only one other lodge located on site. The location is also close to main stores such as: Tesco, ASDA & a very lovely little towns with pubs & shops. We have booked to return to the lodge - I am counting down the days already!

We had a wonderful stay in Cornfield Lodge after looking forward to this all year. The lodge was clean, cosy and tidy (exactly as the pictures show but with a different sofa) and had everything we could need, we all fought over the Rhino! I had packed all sorts of cleaning bits and bobs and didn't need any of these, nice fluffy towels provided for showers, washing tablets if you need them, all kitchen cleaning products including dishwasher tablets, tin foil, condiments and fairy! Plenty of plastic glasses for the hot tub. I even managed to make a Sunday dinner, plenty of pots and pans with the oven, hob and microwave! The underfloor heating kept it lovely and warm and the little utility/boot room dried our towels, swimwear and even a muddy wash load no problem! We did find the fridge a little small (under bench fridge) but it was winter so just kept our drinks outside on the decking! There is an extra freezer in the utility room. My only grumble is that we like a firm mattress and although this mattress was a high quality memory foam one it wasn't for us so didn't have the comfiest of sleeps......although the kids did, clearly we should have swapped rooms! The bedding and bedrooms were really cosy and both bedrooms had TVs and hairdryer. I was sad to find I had forgotten our bag of games but didn't need to worry as there is a cupboard full of games, jigsaws, books and DVD's. As someone else mentioned the WIFI was great and phone reception perfect. Asda and Tesco both deliver so you could save space in the car by arranging a delivery for your trip but both Tesco and Sainsburys are only a 5 minute drive. Northallerton is a 20/25 minute walk along a roadside path with lots of bars, restaurants, cafés, shops and a park but sadly Covid closures meant we didn't get to test any out. We also had a drive to Thirsk (10 minutes) which has a nice little park and riverside walk with cafe's, pubs and shops too! Would be lovely when everything back open. We did get takeaway delivered from both Kam Bo House (Chinese) and Romeo Pizza which were both lovely and both on Just Eat! The hot tub was big and new and lovely with fabulous sunset views and felt very private. We enjoyed watching all of the birds with a glass of fizz. Watch out for the tree man! Sadly we had a problem with our hot tub heating but this couldn't be helped and everything possible was done to try remedy this and try to solve the problem, we made the most of it anyway! There is a distinctive smell in the air but you don't notice it after day one and it is on a working farm, the kids (and us) thoroughly enjoyed visiting the animals and feeding the goats. It would be lovely to go back in summer when the animals are out in the fields and make use of the BBQ! Cliff our host was perfect, just what you want, friendly and helpful but not in your way. We were encouraged to use the lodge as our home and that's exactly what it felt like. Thank you Cliff for being a great host and letting us visit the animals and feel so relaxed. Also thank you for the lovely welcome hamper which we made the most of, it was really nice with lots of treats! Last but not least Maxwell, the resident dog who we enjoyed our daily visits from. He is so friendly and well trained, not over stepping the mark (literally keeping his paws out). We happily adopted him for the week and enjoyed his company! We would definitely return and have already looked at future dates!

We booked this holiday for Easter. Since then, a lot of water has flowed under the bridge and we’re all a little stressed and fed up. We’d arrived expecting a lot after such a long wait... and we weren’t disappointed. There is something special about coming back after a day trudging round various touristy places in the cold and damp to a bubbling hot tub, warm cosy accommodation and peace and quiet. Unfortunately the WiFi signal is excellent and phone signal too so you can still be found but it kept the Teenager happy. The lodge isn’t 100% perfect, thankfully, which meant we weren’t frightened to touch anything and everything was supplied including a very indulgent gift basket. The duvets were the big fluffy type as were the towels and they were good big ones. The utility room was so hot drying wet coats and swimmers was very easy. All in all, if I could design a break away in the UK, this would be it.

Have just returned from the most wonderful week at Cornfield Lodge. Met by Cliff who was welcoming and helpful from the start. The lodge is beautiful, sparkling clean and well maintained. It has everything you could possibly need for a relaxing break or base to explore the local area. The welcome hamper was a lovely surprise and we thoroughly enjoyed the treats! Location is great, just outside Northallerton. We easily took a train to York for a day out and visited several scenic spots as recommended when we arrived. The hot tub with beautiful views was a daily highlight for us no matter what the weather! It was great to meet the farm animals and Maxwell the very friendly dog. We recommend this holiday to all and will be returning very soon. Thank you to Cliff and your wonderful team for a fantastic holiday :-)

What a wonderful place. Nothing to much trouble for the owner Cliff and his dog Maxwell. We had fabulous weather, so being able sit on the decking in the sun and spend time in the hot tub was bliss. Looking forward to our next visit.

In a beautiful area, you don't have to travel very far to see places. The owner was very obliging, nothing was too much trouble for him. We only arrived on the Friday and by the Sunday I was ready to book again later in the year, thoroughly enjoyed the week and didn't want to leave, (sniff sniff) cannot wait to go again.

The holiday home was superb and is in a convenient area for exploring both the Dales or the Moors. So much to do, but we simply didn't have enough time to do it all. Will have to go back.

This lodge is highly recommended. It is well equipped, comfortable and near enough to all the attractions and sites in Yorkshire. The owner attends immediately to all queries and is readily available.

I have rented Cornfield Lodge several times now and it's simply superb in every aspect. Clifford the owner, who lives in the adjacent farmhouse, is a lovely man who really helps you to feel at home - nothing is too much trouble for him. The Lodge is very comfortable indeed and really well equipped with two large bedrooms, two bathrooms (one of which en-suite) and a kitchen complete with all mod cons. The Lodge is only a mile or so out of the local market town of Northallerton, but is tucked away from the busy main road down a farm track. You're always made to feel welcome at the beginning of your stay because Clifford supplies a well stocked 'welcome pack' of food stuffs. Lovely accommodation in a peaceful setting and good value for money.

Beautiful cottage in a peaceful location, equipped well, clean and comfortable. Very warm and quiet, though located on a working farm. Plenty outdoor space for the kids to play, without us worrying about them. Perfect for a family break. We loved our holiday and would recommend Cornfield Lodge to anyone.

This lodge was an amazing find and would highly recommend. The owner knew we were arriving very late in the evening and had two young children. He ensured that the lights and heating were turned on for us which made it easy to find and extremely welcoming. Great location for visiting the Yorkshire Dales and Moors and within walking distance to the local town of Northallerton.
