It is surrounded by spectacular mountain and lakeland scenery, and the sandy beach at Waterville is unspoiled and offers the perfect spot for a great day on the beach. The resort also has an 18-hole golf course and some interesting archaeological remains that are worth investigating. For keen walkers, the Kerry Way is close by and anglers may care to take advantage of one of the area's many rivers and lakes. There are boat trips to places of interest such as Beginish Island, Skelligs and Dingle, and the vibrant town of Cahersiveen is only 10 miles away and has a wide variety of amenities. This is a fabulous base from which to see this stunning part of Ireland.

County Kerry is a mystical and unspoilt part of Ireland, with spectacular natural beauty and a fascinating history. Facing the Atlantic Ocean, it features many sandy beaches, rocky inlets and stunning peninsulas.

Reviews

We took the opportunity to have a short break in Ireland, knowing that it could be stormy and cold. The cottage is very well equipped for self-catering. It also has central heating and an open fire in the lounge, so we were quite snug. The scenery is magnificent. Waterville has a good supermarket and the Lobster restaurant is worth a visit. Most outlets close for the winter in that part of Ireland.

Really enjoyed a week’s stay at Carraig Oisin. There were nine in our group and the house felt spacious yet cosy. The views of the mountains and the bay opposite Waterville were wonderful, regardless of the weather (and this being western Ireland we were treated to sun, rain, hail and everything in between). The location of the property is perfect for some quiet, tranquil family time but a little too far unfortunately to enjoy Waterville’s night life and walk home (it took our party nearly 70 minutes to walk to town). The garden and yard of the house were large enough for our two dogs to be able to run and burn off some extra energy. Our contact Fiona was brilliant. She was professional, courteous and extremely responsive by text. One certainly couldn’t of asked for more.

Carraig Oisin ist located perfectly if you want to wind down. It has everything you need to make you feel comfortable and at home: the gas stove was especially awesome and the spacious house and garden with a terrace will give you the option to gather or to stay alone for a while. Waterville is just a 10 minutes drive away and you'll get the greatest fish'n'chips at The Lobster. Fiona Walsh is a great caretaker and will do anything to make your stay even more relaxing. Perfect vacation.

My wife and I just spent a week at this fantastic property. It is spacious, well equipped and has breathtaking views of Ballinskelligs Bay and the surrounding mountains. It is just three miles from the delightful village of Waterville and a ten minute walk from the shore with its fantastic views out to the mysterious Skellig Islands, which apparently were used as a location in Star Wars. I wouldn't know, but to me they have the mysterious look of a land which time forgot. The location is perfect for exploring the Ring of Kerry and the Ring of Skellig. There are interesting places to visit and scenery and vistas unrivalled anywhere. After a long day exploring this golden corner of Ireland, watch the sunset from the shore as the Celtic Sea rolls in over the rocky beach or dine by candlelight in the kitchen diner of Carraig Oisin and look out over the bay to the grey, misty mountains beyond and get lost in the wonder of it...

We had a wonderful time in Carraig Oisin. The house is gorgeous, the beds were so comfy, and everything you could possibly need was already there for us. The view of the sea is beautiful & it was close to many beaches. Would definitely recommend this house to anyone.

The house was very spacious, well-equipped and comfortable for us. The two bedrooms upstairs were a good distance apart so that the babies didn't wake each other if they cried. The roads around the house were quiet for walking with the pushchair.

Carraig Oisin is a fabulous house in a very picturesque location overlooking the Atlantic. It was a very relaxing holiday. The house was immaculate and well equipped. It is located beside Lochar Fort & is convenient to many beautiful beaches e.g Derrynane & Ballinskelligs. We would recommend this house to our friends!

Liked the location and views from the house, it was a home from home. We have 3 small children and the house was perfect with an enclosed garden, beaches a short drive and a stone fort within walking distance. The weather was gorgeous and views from the house were amazing.
