Reviews

I stayed at the cottage with my wife, a friend and her 4 year old daughter. The kid loved the place because there are 'sheepys', 'lambies' and 'gooses' :-) The hosts are really lovely and helpful. They had given us some fresh eggs from the farm - a great touch. The location is superb - literally 10 min drive from Betws-y-coed. It is in the middle of a working farm and it's really quiet and beautiful. No doubt we'll go there again!

Y Bwythyn is a wonderful spacious relaxing cottage, very comfortable, wonderful views. The owners are lovely people. Perfect for getting away from it all and close enough to some fantastic scenery and walks in Snowdonia. Would definitely recommend.

It was a beautiful place. The cottage was a barn conversion that had been carefully and well restored, upgraded and turned into a lovely, comfortable cottage with fabulous views. The owners were friendly and helpful but not obtrusive.

This was a wonderful cottage in a beautiful location - peaceful with spectacular views. We were made very welcome by the owners. It was a great base from which to explore such a lovely part of Wales.

Rated by Mrs Walker reviewed on 4th September 2014

As a base for Steve's 50th birthday week this was an absolute gem of a place. It's a great drive there & with the most stunning views of the area. Marian & Trefor, the owners, are really lovely hosts (the wine and the eggs were great touches). The property was perfect for us, the cottage has everything you might need & being on a working farm was great both seeing & listening to the animals. Sadly we could only stay 3 nights but still managed to climb Snowdon, visit the north coast and try out Zip World. It was an action packed time with a really comfortable & pleasant adopted home to return to. We've booked again for early Sept when this time our daughter can come with us as we know she'll absolutely love it. A wonderful few days.

Rated by Steve H reviewed on 31st May 2014

Utterly beautiful place to stay, simply cannot praise it enough. We were privileged to watch twin lambs being born and watch the lambs being hand fed. Perfect base for a holiday. We will most definitely go back; it was, in a word, perfect.

Rated by Mrs Burt reviewed on 4th May 2014

I would recommend this cottage to anyone who wants to relax and enjoy the countryside or get in their car and explore the local area.

The cottage was beautiful and spacious with lots of homely character and gorgeous views. We enjoyed a good few evenings bundled up on the sofas by the warmth of the electric fire!

Rated by Ms Cowen reviewed on 24th June 2013

The property was just how it looked on the website. It was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed, like a home from home. The owners were a lovely couple and nothing was too much trouble. The eggs left for us fresh from the farm were a lovely touch! It was a good base for going out and about and seeing all that the area has to offer.

Rated by Mr Willson reviewed on 30th May 2013

Rated by Mr Hardcastle reviewed on 2nd November 2011

The property is beautifully remodeled, nicely furnished, and spotlessly clean. The beds were very comfortable. The owners Trefor and Marian were friendly and helpful and started us out with a batch of fresh eggs. It's a little bit out of the way, but a beautiful & peaceful spot with easy day trips to sites like Caernarfon and Conwy castles, Portmeirion, Chester, Llandudno, Anglesey, etc. We enjoyed climbing Mt. Snowdon one day. Betws-y-Coed is nearby with many restaurants and other tourist facilities. There was no wi-fi internet available when we were there and cell coverage was spotty. Overall, highly recommended!

After finding it particularly difficult to secure a suitable cottage at short notice you were able to find us an excellent property with good all round facilities on which the owners should be complemented. It was peaceful and tranquil in every way and the quietness was unbelievable in every way.

We were made extremely welcome and felt warm and comfortable in the house. We had wonderful weather and enjoyed the spectacular views from the garden and windows of this beautiful barn conversion.

Rated by Mrs Britton reviewed on 10th May 2011

The property was in a beautiful location on a delightful farm deep in the Welsh countryside. The farm owner was very friendly and welcoming and the cottage was very beautiful and clean and well kitted out. The only real complaint I would have is that I felt it was very cold due to the time of year, and even with the fire on the the living room I often felt cold. But this is probably due to living in a very warm house anyway and this did not detract from the overall enjoyment of the property. I would definitely stay here again, during the warmer months of the year.

Rated by Simon Hayes reviewed on 9th November 2010

Very beautiful property in a lovely scenic and peaceful area. I would definitely visit this property again, although hopefully much earlier in the summer, when it would possibly be warmer and sunnier!

The cottage was warm and welcoming and set on a peaceful working farm. Immacuately clean .Owners friendly and welcoming and very helpful . Was really touched as they had left us a bottle of champagne as it was our honeymoon. Was central location to visit surrounding attractions such as Snowdon, Llandudno and Betsy w Coed. We read the visitors book and there wasnt one negative remrk and plent would go back as we would ourselves.
