Reviews

Booked online, as pictured but it is next to owners property. Owners friendly and unobtrusive. Maintained to high standard. Summerhouse not as pictured (foliage growth meant it was rather shaded down there). We used it as a base for touring around Mid & West Wales for which it was ideally suited. Good space for a couple. Bathroom excellent. Overall, very satisfied and would readily consider booking again.

Set in beautiful surroundings, Cwm Derw Cottage is a great place to stay. With its central location you are ideally placed to strike out to all destinations. If your into birds of prey, treat yourself to a trip to Gigrin Farm, see the sky full of Red Kites. I will be returning, loved every moment

My wife and I stayed at this cottage last weekend. WOW first impressions definately had the wow factor. Beautifully presented and very well furnished with views to die for. Had a great welcome and couldnt wait to light the very inviting log burning fire. We live in a large town so being deep into the country always offers a different life. The cottage has every thing you need with a fabulous shower, and the log burner made it very cosy and warm. The place was spotless and looked brand new. It was great to see all the different animals. Great place to visit the country, great views with a laid back feeling. Great to chill and relax and probably in the mid summer sitting on the decking with a beer would be tranquill and peacefull with no traffic noise. Will return.

The views are spectacular and really should be on your website. The property is well laid out and well insulated. The log burner was lovely and well used (we had a cold week and snow all day on Friday). Owners are lovely and very helpful - they helped us dig out on the Saturday so we could actually get home! The welcome pack was very generous and the flowers a nice extra touch. Planning to go back next Autumn.

A fantastic cottage in a great location. The views were amazing with lots of red kites and woodpeckers flying close by. The cottage was spotlessly clean with all mod cons. Our hosts Liz and Robert were very friendly and helpful, not forgetting Joan who helped to make our stay unforgettable. The welcome breakfast gift and flowers came as a lovely surprise. To sum up - peaceful, welcoming, relaxing and an ideal base to explore the surrounding countryside. We had a brilliant week.

The cottage was as described . the owners were welcoming, friendly and helpful. the extras on arrival were much appreciated. the cottage was beautiful, furnishings and decor of the highest finish. the location was a little out of the way , but this is what we wanted and expected. the ducks coming for breakfast each morning was a lovely touch . we would visit again with pleasure.

The "cottage" was beautifully furnished and had everything in it that we could want for our stay. The welcome pack awaiting us was much appreciated. It was in an idyllic location - and if you love animals, this is the place for you - if we could have fitted all the menagerie in our car, we would have taken them all home with us. We were made to feel very welcome and very much "part of the family". It was a great base to explore Wales - and we were blessed with glorious weather. There were two fab pubs nearby so we were spoilt for choice - no need to fire up the oven except for breakfast, which we enjoyed eating outside on the decking, taking in the wonderful landscape on our doorstep.

Rated by A FlipKey verified reviewer reviewed on 3rd December 2009

Location, location, location! It feels like you're in the middle of nowhere. Just a couple of farms in the distance. Wildlife all around you... woodpeckers, kites, ducks, horses. It's what made the holiday. The family were very friendly and were always on hand with good local knowledge, and the accomodation they provided was finished to a high standard. The woodburner was the finishing touch - needed, even in July! My only issue was with the close proximity of their front door to our property and the lack of any real privacy, something that wasn't made clear in the advertisement.

Rated by Derek Holland reviewed on 2nd December 2009

The cottage was perfect as was the location and the animals and wildlife made even better. The surounding area was fantastic and we WILL return. We can only say thankyou to our hosts from our hearts. Neil and Eve
