Reviews

We had a wonderful stay at Lucky Cottage, it is a rural location in Foxt which has a lovely pub but there is plenty to do in driving distance for the week. Furnished to a very high standard I recommend Lucky Cottage for a treat get away.

Needed a quiet bolt-hole for a few days away. This place looked good on the website, but the pictures do not do it justice. The cottage is finished to the highest standards with some excellent, quirky items mixed with high end kitchen and technology items. After staying in a few cottages over the years, this is without doubt one of the best. Comfortable surroundings and furnishings coupled with a great location make for a relaxing few days away. The shepherd hut at the end of the garden makes a great place to sit a have a glass or two of something nice.

A gorgeous cottage which was beautifully decorated throughout. Loved the bathroom, I had some delightful long soaks in the tub! The bed was super comfortable, we slept so well.

The views from the lounge, bedroom and garden were spectacular and the furnishings in the cottage were interesting and quirky! It was very peaceful both at the cottage and Foxt generally as a village. Overall, a lovely place.

The beds were extremely comfortable and the cottage was pretty much perfect.

The cottage was gorgeous! So beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. The beds were so comfortable and the house was really cosy and warm. We loved cooking together in the large, well-equipped kitchen. The owner was a pleasure to deal with. I'm sure we will book again.

The location of the cottage was ideal for our requirements - a very quiet location with very friendly and helpful local residents. The cottage was decorated to a very high standard and was equipped with all the necessities and much more.

Came here on holiday for a week with my husband and daughter, Beautifully decorated throughout with attention to detail. Everything was of a very high standard, all furnishings are very thoughtfully placed. The patio is lovely but the garden does need attention but it was only March when I was here. The parking is very tight so if you have a larger vehicle then it would be awkward to say the least not a problem for us though. We really enjoyed our stay, very quiet and peaceful. The views from the back of the property are outstanding looking out uninterrupted into the valley, The kitchen and bathroom are particularly lovely, and the bedrooms especially luxurious. Great retro design throughout. Lovely break, no problems what so ever. Would definitely stay again.

It was perfectly placed for walking and had a good pub within walking distance. It was wonderful to be in the countryside but also warm and comfortable. The cottage is beautifully decorated in Victorian style. Although we went in the winter it would be just as nice in the summer as the garden has lovely views over the valley where you could sit and enjoy a glass of something.

Lucky Cottage is beautifully decorated to a very high standard and the beds are probably of the highest quality we have experienced in a self-catering holiday home. The views and location are stunning. A lovely Cottage in a lovely place.

My sincere thanks to the owner for putting her interior décor flair into practice, and for her attention to exquisite detail.

We loved every part of the cottage! So spacious yet so cosy, and nicely decorated throughout! The kitchen was well equipped and a really good size as most kitchens are quite small in other places. The living area was nicely decorated and had a blu-ray player! The bedrooms were beautiful! The beds were so comfortable and the views (and horses) were a wonderful sight to open the curtains to in the morning! A wonderful place to stay and definitely would love to stay again!

Peaceful. Wonderful views and good walks straight from the door. Lovely village pub with friendly people. Spotlessly clean.

We have stayed at many of your cottages, and whilst all of them have been very good, Lucky Cottage surpassed them all. Exceptional, excellent quality throughout, the beds were a dream. Such a great deal of thought had gone into making the cottage a perfect holiday home, none of us wanted to leave! On top of that we had lovely weather and managed 3 sunny but rather muddy walks.

We really loved the cottage and the whole atmosphere, and we were very relaxed and comfortable here. The local area was really good too with lots to do and see. We are already planning to return and looking forward to re-visiting.

The cottage was well presented, good quality décor and excellent linen etc. Very clean and warm.

Rated by Mrs Mozley reviewed on 25th October 2013

A lovely cottage in a great location and very peaceful. The description of off road parking is slightly misleading as it is a lane shared by all the other properties leaving little room for turning. Despite a problem with the fridge/freezer the owners mother was quick to help.

Decorated to a very high standard, with great attention to detail, particularly loved all the antique accessories. Pleasure to cook in the beautiful kitchen. The bed and bedding were amazing, I normally look forward to getting back to my own bed after a holiday, but not the case here!

Rated by Miss Bate reviewed on 7th October 2013

A lovely cottage with good amenities and a wonderful view, located in a lovely area with much to see and do.

Rated by Mr Thomas reviewed on 30th August 2013

Lovely cottage and great location. Great view from rear terrace. Must mention the nearby Fox & Goose, 5 minutes walk up the hill towards the village hall and lovely St Mark`s church to quench a thirst with real ale and superb food, served all day.

We loved our stay at Lucky cottage. It combines the best of modern luxury, lovely bed linen, beautiful bathroom, quality gadgets and fab range cooker with creative vintage style. There are lots of thoughtful touches which make a stay here really special. We hope to visit again soon.
