Reviews

A close pair of holiday cottages near Stratford Upon Avon! The Dairy has been excellent for us over the past 7 days. As a family, we found the location near Stratford Upon Avon to be excellent. With the holiday cottage in mind, the bedrooms are in fabulous condition, as well as the lounge. Although the TV tends to lose signal sometimes and the Wifi is slightly dodgy, there is a great option next door in the laundry room, which has a basket full of games to play in the garden/recreational area of the cottage. I had actually forgotten my clock on the holiday, and thanks to the close location of Stratford Upon Avon, I was able to pick up another one at Amazon Locker (Twinkle) the very next day. The owners of the cottage are also very nice. I would highly recommend this cottage!

Lovely barn conversion only a couple of miles away from Stratford upon Avon. Based on a working farm. The cottage was immaculately clean and had everything we needed. WiFi was very hit and miss, though on a holiday that's not a priority for us. Our son enjoyed the provided badminton and tennis equipment and we had a game every evening on the grass area outside the cottage. Only downside is that, being on a farm, the cottage is not within walking distance of any pub/shop/etc.. Upside is that it is quiet which helps when getting a good night's sleep. Great to see the sheep being checked over whilst we were there, so a bit of education too!! Lovely, friendly owner who was very approachable and I'm sure would have been very helpful if we'd had any problems which we did not :-)

Just returned from a week staying at the Dairy. Brilliant location about 3 miles from Stratford, ideally placed for touring all the attractions in the county. Numerous National Trust and English Heritage properties close by. The cottage was well equipped with everything you could need, including a shared laundry room with a freezer. Very comfortable bed, which was a bonus. Lawned area outside the cottage which would be a safe place for children to play. Nice outdoor seating to enjoy the country views. Very friendly owners who gave us a warm welcome and provided eggs and milk to start us off. One mile to the nearest pub - lovely meals. Waitrose is about 2 miles on the main road into Stratford. We would highly recommend this cottage.

This is the second time we have stayed here. Delightful location and very tranquil. Perfect with all the lambs about. The only negative is the chronically slow wifi. My email wouldn't even download without timing out. If you need a digital detox, this should be your first choice destination.

Rated by Ian W reviewed on 24th May 2017

As other reviewers have said, milk and eggs are a welcoming provision! But bring your own tea-bag(s) or coffee if you want one on arrival before you go shopping. The building is L-shaped, and includes the utility room, the Roost cottage and the owner's cottage. My elderly mother found the level-floor easy to manage. The owners are most caring - first morning, Jean even asked if I was warm enough, and provided a warmer duvet for me. Her elderly husband Robert works with his Son Andy on the farm - amazing to see them organising the sheep to take them to other pastures, as was their loading a large lorry with many tons of corn for transport! Parking is across the lawn in front of the cottages. My mother's disability scooter needed charging overnight, but couldn't get the van near the Dairy. So, Jean kindly let me drive near their own utility room to do so. A few minor niggles: noisy fridge, dark lounge corner (where round dining table is, their photos must have been taken with good flood lights), dripping/worn sink mixer tap. Bedside clock in double bedroom changed time during night – I wondered why there was so much daylight for only “5am”! (All niggles discussed with owners son Andy before departure)

The location of The Dairy was very quiet and we felt quite safe. We appreciated the fresh eggs and milk kindly left in the fridge for us. The owners was very friendly and helpful.

The Dairy is probably the best holiday cottage that we have ever stayed at, this is our fourth time. The cottage and facilities are perfect with friendly and helpful owners close by. Very highly recommended.

Rated by Mr Rozier reviewed on 17th January 2016

This is a well presented cottage, with 1 double bedroom and 1 bedroom with 2 single beds. Fully equipped kitchen added bonus of a shared utility room with freezer, washing machines and tumble dryer. Welcoming owner on site. Arriving to find milk, eggs and mince pies was a lovely touch. Our only negatives were that we found the beds to soft for our liking and the water / central heating boiler was extremely noisy. Although not marketed for the disabled it would be suitable for the less mobile with the exception of a steep step into the cottage. The cottage would an excellent base for exploring Stratford Upon Avon and surrounding area.

Excellent location and the owners could not do enough for us. We would definitely return.

Rated by Mr Hilsdon reviewed on 30th June 2015

Very friendly hosts on arrival and a stunning location overlooking the hills, whilst being in a prime location for Stratford and nearby sights. The property itself was lovely and suited us perfectly with two children, and was pristinely clean. We were very happy with our stay and will most certainly recommend the property to our friends and family.

Rated by Mrs Chapman reviewed on 19th June 2015

We stayed for a few days in Stratford upon Avon and this property was the only one available that we could find at the time for last minute bookings for short breaks. We were extremely lucky that it was! We arrived late on a wet weekend but despite the miserable weather the location was absolutely stunning, set on a working farm with wonderful views overlooking the surrounding hills and countryside. We were greeted by Mr and Mrs Burrows who were very helpful and friendly. We stayed in the two bedroomed property with our two children (ages 1 and 2) and were supplied with a high chair and travel cot. The property itself was absolutely pristinely clean (and I am very picky about cleanliness!) and the sheets and bedding were obviously freshly washed, smelling lovely. We were well equipped with all essential kitchen items and self-catered for our evening meals. We were even treated to some fresh eggs and milk in the fridge on arrival. Overall I can't find any fault in this property, it is beautiful, quiet and in a perfect location for nearby sights (Stratford upon Avon town centre, Anne hathaways, etc are all in easy reach). We will definitely recommend this property to friends and will hopefully stay again if we come back to the area in the future. Many thanks for your hospitality.

The Dairy was clean, fresh, secluded and quiet, yet a short drive to places of interest. Comfy beds, spacious accommodation and nice grounds with good views.

Rated by Mrs Tresise reviewed on 7th June 2015

The location was lovely. The property was really comfortable and had the best beds in a holiday cottage ever! It was clean, well equipped and pleasant to be in without being unnecessarily over-luxurious. This made it really easy to relax with our family. We really enjoyed the outdoor games equipment. The on site owners were welcoming but not intrusive.

Once again, an excellent holiday in ideal surroundings. Cottage was 1st class and location perfect. This is the 3rd time, in 3 years, that we have holidayed at this cottage and it's neighbour and each time has been excellent.

Rated by Mrs Ayling reviewed on 11th May 2014

The Dairy provided just what our family needed. Clean air, room for my boys to run around and a lovely cottage that felt like a second home. We were visiting from a cramped London flat and with 3 sons, what they really needed was the freedom to run around all day in the fresh air without having to worry about traffic or being too noisy. We'll be back again!

Rated by Mrs Beaumont reviewed on 27th April 2014

The cottage was in a delightful spot, we were made to feel very welcome. The accommodation is spacious, light and airy, warm and comfortable and very clean. It is very conveniently placed for Stratford - and a Waitrose within a mile! We would certainly be happy to stay there again.

We had a great week at the Dairy - very well equipped, we were even offered temporary black-out curtains for our children's room. Everything we needed in the cottage (even good cooking equipment - unusual in rental properties in our experience) and a lovely garden for us to sit out in and watch the children play with the toys provided (kid's golf, badminton, toddler's tractor etc). Very convenient for Stratford - only minutes in the car - but based in the middle of the countryside. Perfect! We'll definitely book again if we come back to Stratford.

We loved the friendly welcome, the ambience, the situation - well placed for many National Trust Properties.

Rated by Mr Carlyon reviewed on 8th July 2013

We had a great stay at the dairy. The cottage was clean, modern and airy. the seperate utilty room was a godsend with every cleaning product imaginable! Well stocked utensils, essentials (salt, gravy granules, foil etc) and equipment and great to have a pint of milk, O.J and eggs in fridge as a 'welcome pack'. Lovely garden area with view over fields. would be ideal for 2 families of 4, if rented with adjoining property. Close to Stratford and shops, supermarkets etc within easy drive.(5mins). we were a little surprised at how close to farmhouse we were but never saw or heard any noise or disturbance. There were quite a few flies around, but fly spray in utility room , but maybe a fly repellent airfreshner regularly replaced would work?

The cottage made a perfect base for visiting the local area. The surroundings were idyllic, and just perfect for a tractor-mad two year old! The cottage was well-appointed and comfortable. Every need had been considered - the shared utility room was stocked for every eventuality. The cottage was well-supplied with children's games too. I would thoroughly recommend this cottage - we spent a wonderful week in it!

We absolutely loved everything about this holiday - the property suited us very well as we had one elderly wheelchair user in our group, and our hosts were very friendly and helpful throughout. My son was besotted with the chickens, peacocks and checking the vegetable patch everyday for ripe produce to try!

We stayed for 1 wk and it was lovely, a nice cottage with all the facilities that we needed, plenty to do around Stratford. The owners were just lovely, always on hand if you needed to ask anything and very helpful and kind. The welcome back of fruit & milk was just great on arrival too. There was also a highchair which we used whilst there which was unexpected. Would definately recommend anyone to stay as it was just lovely. The cottage was nice and cosy which in November was excellent and plenty of space for our little one to wander up and down the hallway in an evening.
