Dairy Apartment 1, Tatton Park

Took elderly parents away for a few days and we all enjoyed this apartment. Well appointed except for the oddness of the lack of matching and sufficient cutlery but comfy beds, cosy fire and very peaceful. Will definitely visit again

Despite awful weather we enjoyed our stay at the ground floor Dairy Apartment 1 on the Tatton Estate. A cosy two bed roomed apartment was sufficiently spacious for our needs. Extra crockery would have been helpful but otherwise it was well equipped. Central heating was effective and a cosy log fire at night was lovely. The walks in the Tatton Estates are legion and situated on the Cheshire plain they are very easy. The gardens, to which we had free access, are a delight even in winter. The village of Knutsford is close by and has some great restaurants, shops and amenities.

We always stay there when we visit Cheshire ,very happy ,but this time we thought the mattress ,needed changing , find the fact that no internet rather frustrating too but we have booked for Easter and will return ,

Relaxing and quiet in lovely rural surroundings. We thought the apartment was very well presented and beautifully clean.

This was our 3rd visit to the apartment....lovely as always.....booked again for next year.

Lovely venue, well equipped, comfortable. an enjoyable visit in every way. Handy for Knutsford, and no problem coming in and out once you have got the hang of the gates!

Well equipped, homely and just what we hoped for as we were at the Tatton flower show and looked forward to going back to the cottage.

Thank you for making our first visit to Knutsford and Tatton Park very special. The cottage really was superb and our evenings outside the same, enjoying the beautiful surroundings and gardens. This was a great base as we were visiting the area because our teenage son was completing his work experience in Wilmslow and Knutsford. The free passes and starter pack were a brilliant idea and very much appreciated. Most definitely 5 star.

The setting is just magical! Tatton Park as your backyard. Walking through the farm with its reindeer, pigs, sheep, ducks and geese, to get to the main park was delightful. The free entry tickets for the mansion and all parts of Tatton Park was an unexpected extra. We could have spent a whole week just exploring the house and gardens. The Dairy Apartment itself is so comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised by the lovely basket of goodies. We were also very grateful for the logs and fire lighters for the wood burning stove. The beds were very comfortable and the shower was amazingly powerful! I could just go on and on about how lovely this place is..

The location in Tatton Park was ecellent. Getting a pass for free access to the facilities in the park was a real bonus.

The situation was great. The apartment was excellently equipped and extremely comfortable, and we hope to return when visiting friends in the north next time. Loved the Laura Ashley décor!

Loved the setting of the cottage, it was very secure. It was great to use the facilities of Tatton Park. Overall, had a great week, and will be back.

A well maintained property in a peaceful location. Ideally situated for walking and/or cycling in Tatton Park.

Spacious cottage, nice to have two settees. The appliances were all in a very good state. We will come back as it is quite magical to be able to wonder out in the park, and the cottage itself is lovely.

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. The location was ideal for the Tatton Flower Show and visiting surrounding attractions. The accommodation was superb and it was wonderful being able to walk around Tatton Park in the evening.

We loved the venue and thought the cottage was fabulous.

We were all very impressed with the standard of the property throughout. It was in an excellent area and was exactly as described online. We visited Tatton Park and found the gardens especially pretty. The cottage was finished to a high degree and the kitchen was very well equipped. Overall, it made for a superb holiday experience.

A very nice renovated cottage on a beautiful location. Enough room for 3 adults. Cosy decoration. Close to the International Airport of Manchester, but the sound of airplanes did not bother us. Tatton Park is beautiful and you need to go there several times to see everything. Admission for the tenants of the cottage is free. Beautiful gardens too in Tatton Park. From the station of Altrincham you can go to the city of Manchester. Lots to see in this area.

There is a lot to see in the area. Tatton Park is wonderful. The apartment is very comfortable and homely.

We rented Dairy Cottage #1 for a week during February 2013. We actually stayed only five nights there, so we could travel a bit more. Five nights at the weekly rate was still a bargain. The cottage is beautiful, spacious, cozy, comfortable. The setting is beautiful. I heard an owl at night while awake reading. I had a bit of trouble with the TV and staff sorted out the problem within minutes of my complaint. I loved walking from the cottage through the park, to the shops. All staff very friendly and helpful. We will be back!!

Cottage was nice and clean on arrival, keys were in pre-arranged place. Kitchen well equipped, heating was good and all other facilities good. Only possible criticisms were that extractor fan in bathroom was inadequate i.e. not able to cope with moisture following a hot shower and neighbours could be heard clearly at times through the adjoining doorway, had there been any children residing next door I would expect the noise to be even more noticeable. Location ideal for walks in Tatton Park.

Excellent service with warm comfortable furnishings were most appreciated. Superb location for really exploring tattoo park, local historic houses and gardens. Sadly, poor weather and local floods rather restricted what we first planned to do.

Great location and the property was all you needed, simple, clean, smart and warm.

We have stayed twice this year, that says it all. The cottage is in the grounds of Tatton Park, what more could you want?

A fantastic cottage in a fantastic location. Comfortable and beautifully decorated - we enjoyed the stay immensely. Access to the amazing Tatton Park House, farm and gardens was a lovely bonus.

We enjoyed being able to walk in the gardens and the park whenever we wanted as well as being close to Knutsford. We chose the cottage because we were interested in Mrs Gaskell's connection with Knutsford and her basing Cranford there. Unusually for our holidays in this country there were quite a few negatives. The access was a bit hard to find and we continued to come into the Park by the Knutsford entrance. We couldn't work out how to use the microwave and no-one else in the office could either and they had to send for the instructions. This took time to sort out and it was never solved. I don't think such a complicated microwave is suitable for holiday accomodation. More seriously the holiday was marred by the lack of sound proofing between the two cottages. When we were resting on a rainy Sunday we couldn't read for the noise of the children next door which was not at an abnormal level. We could hear ordinary conversation and we never felt completely private.

The apartment is spacious, well-equipped and comfortable. During our stay it was bitterly cold so we were very glad that the heating was very efficient. Location is quiet with beautiful surroundings, wonderful to hear woodpeckers and owls so clearly. Staff at Tatton Park are all very friendly and helpful. Also impressed with nearby town of Knutsford where we shopped and visited their Heritage Museum.

Lovely cottage, but spoilt by having the next doors cottage patio right outside our bedroom window, which meant in the heat of July we could not have the windows open. Otherwise passes to Tatton park included which were much appreciated, and peaceful walks abundant. The cottage was well equipped but much more geared up to being a big family taking both cottages together. The downstairs where we were is very noisy with a family next door, their rooms are also above the bedrooms which was unavoidably noisy to us downstairs, especially when the upstairs bathroom fan runs in the night, it is very loud downstairs.

Great central location for visiting Liverpool, Chester, North Wales, Manchester, and Cheshire attractions. Good value meals at Tatton Park Restaurant and lovely gardens and grounds to walk around.

The cottage is in a lovely location and the park pass was an added bonus we took advantage of. The cottage was very comfortable and equipped to a very high standard. We wanted for nothing.

Lovely walks from the property and wildlife watching in the park. Ideal location for visits to other attractions in the area and easy access to Knutsford.

The location was superb! We were near the farm and had lovely views of Tatton Park. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful - we can't praise them enough. The accommodation was perfect - well proportioned with a good layout and very clean. Parking was easy outside the cottage.

We really enjoyed our stay in Dairy Cottage. The staff at both Tatton Park and Sykes were friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend both.

Wonderful setting and idyllic place to stay, ideally placed for Manchester, Liverpool etc. It was a great place to unwind after a busy day and we loved it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. The access to Tatton Park was 1st class, plus the staff at Tatton were extremely friendly & very helpful. The apartment was excellent.

The owner was most helpful. The setting on 2000 acres of Tatton Park is splendid.

The heating was a great plus point. A visit from the owners within the first 24 hours to clear up any queries and questions was helpful.

Dairy Cottage was superb. From the minute we opened the door we knew we were somewhere special.The cottage was extremely well appointed and didn't seem like a holiday let at all.It was spacious and airy and a fantastic base for our family. The children loved the amenities that Tatton Park provided and we made great use of the farm and adventure park as well as the cafe ! The area was perfect for exploring and we visited Manchester,Chester and lots inbetween.We even managed a day at the beach in Wales, ice skating and swimming. I would thoroughly recommend it !

Fabulous surroundings, very friendly people working at Tatton Park, lots of deer, squirrels etc and spacious rooms in the apartment.

The ability to stroll at will around the grounds of Tatton Park. The peace and tranquility. The friendliness of the Tatton Park staff.

We enjoyed our holiday, especially the assistance and help of the owner.

Super location,with easy access to Cheshire , North Wales and Manchester.It allowed our holiday to have something for everyone from beach to city to countryside.Tatton Park itself and Knutsford were lovely places to spend time and the children loved the farm and adventure playground

A beautiful cottage in beautiful surroundings. We both loved it and would gladly come back again. Very good value. Also, having the 'run' of the park in the evenings made for wonderful walks amongst deer along the lakes. Magical.

We liked it very much that we had free access to Tatton Park. We were lucky to arrive just in time for the tour around the Mansion which we really enjoyed. The woodburner made the house very cosy during the evenings.

The family who stayed here (we used it for wedding guests) were delighted and wished they could stay longer. A large party of family popped in on their way home and several of them are planning to use the cottage next year.

Excellent base for touring. Easy access and parking. Comfortable sofas, very important. Nice to have the whole of Tatton Park available for walking straight from the door. Being newly converted, the house was very clean and fresh.
