This pretty detached cottage, set at the foot of the Ballyhoura mountains, is just two miles from the village of Ardpatrick. The property itself is steeped in history and is over 400 years old, offering traditional thick stone walls, a stunning open fireplace, and a cosy atmosphere. There are two bedrooms, both of which boast original iron bed frames,whilst lovely picture windows provide stunning views of Castle Oliver and the rolling countryside. The nearby village provides necessary amenities, whilst just a short way off the town of Kilfannane offers everything needed for a comfortable, relaxing stay.

Location Details
Originally built by a colony of Palatine settlers, the village of Glenosheen is located below the Ballyhoura Mountains and is just two miles from the village of Ardpatrick - named after Ireland's patron saint. St. Patrick himself is reputed to have built a church on the hill that overlooks the village - the remnants of which still exist today. The market town of Kilfannane is also close by and boasts the title of the highest town in County Limerick as well as an excellent outdoor education centre for school, youth and adult groups, offering a wide range of adventure sports and courses. These include canoeing, rock climbing, hill walking, horse riding and abseiling, giving visitors a wide range to choose from. County Limerick is rich in history and is packed with castles, museums and medieval churches.
For an enticing mix of old and new, County Limerick is ideal, with castles and art galleries attracting visitors whilst the tranquil pastureland, forest trails and mountainous scenery of the county make the perfect escape.

A cosy, time warped property,in a lovely location. The housekeeper is a lovely lady, who couldn't have been kinder or more helpful.
The house is a traditional cottage with low ceilings and thick walls. A very well equipped kitchen and modern bathroom have been added to the ground floor. There are some nice views and woodland walks while the road network gives ready access to other locations. The village is nicely placed to access various attractions
The cottage is immaculate and represents absolute value for money. I would not hesitate to recommend this cottage to anyone.
The reception at our cottage was just perfect. The owner was very helpful and informative, you just needed to ask. The cottage is located very centrally with easy access to most attractions in South Ireland.
We loved every moment and did not want to leave - we will be back.
A fantastic place to stay in beautiful surroundings. It was in a really peaceful and traditional Irish village and everyone was friendly and helpful. The cottage had a lovely atmosphere and it made us all feel like we were staying with relatives. We will definitely be wanting to come back. A great place to go if you want some peace and quiet, away from the hustle and bustle of life.

We arrived exhausted from a long journey. Betty met us, showed us around, lit the fire and made us feel at home. The property and garden/yard were spotlessly clean. Everything is in working order and well maintained. The scenery was stunning. Beautiful walks in the mountains. An ideal location as a base for exploring Ireland. Our Jack Russel loved it. Local villages: Ballyorgan and Ardpatrick. Local towns: Kilmallock, Mallow, Charleville, Kildorrery, Limerick. Places to go: Cashel, Cork, Ballyhoura mountain walks and bike trails. Ballyhoura way. I have returned to the UK very relaxed and totally satisfied with the holiday and the excellent hospitality of the people of the Republic of Ireland.
You have a winner! The owner gave a warm Irish welcome on our arrival after a long journey. Children very welcome. A wonderful experience. Pub excellent, very friendly, Guinness first class!
A beautiful cottage with a large farmyard. A hidden heaven for dog and dog owner. Ease back into natures amazing therapy. Clean and comfortable. Come home to a real fire - added country feeling. Soft spoken, friendly and genuine country people.
The area is surrounded by wood trails and mountains; fantastic walks. Whole area - Glenosheen/Kilmallock/Kilfinane steeped in history. The caretaker - absolutely lovely lady, could not have been more helpful. Nothing too much - charming and courteous! Garden = disused farm yard but very good
We were welcomed by a lovely neighbour to the property who took us round the cottage and clearly explained everything and that, if we needed anything at all, she was just a short walk or phone call away. The welcome pack was a very nice and unexpected touch. The charming 300 year old cottage, which was very well-equipped with all the modern amenities, was clean and very homely, still containing personal items of the lady that had once lived for most of her life. The owner also paid a pleasant courtesy call to see that we had everything we needed. Just 5 minutes drive from Ardpatrick or 10 minutes from the larger Kildorrerey and situated approximately halfway between Limerick and Cork, this is an isolated location with little or no nightlife but rich in beauty, peace and tranquility. A perfect medicine for the stressed-out city dweller! I have only one issue - anyone over 5'4" will have to do some head-ducking when moving around the bedrooms but that comes with the charm and age of the cottage. All in all, a memorable experience which we are likely to repeat.
We were made to feel very welcome by the owner, they could not have done enough for us. This property is highly recommended for a peaceful holiday.
