Violet Lodge is a detached ground floor log cabin set in the grounds of a hall on the outskirts of the North Yorkshire seaside town of Saltburn-by-the-Sea. The cabin sleeps two people in one double bedroom with a wet room and an open plan living area incorporating a kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area. Outside is off road parking, a private patio and use of fifty acres of grounds. Just a short walk from the beach and close to the North York Moors, Violet Lodge is a superb holiday home. Please Note - The owner only accepts a minimum of a 3 night stay.

Gas central heating. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washer/dryer, TV with Freeview, DVD, WiFi. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen inc. in rent. Parking for 1 vehicle only. Bike storage. Private patio with furniture. One well-behaved dog welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Pub 10 mins walk. 5 minute drive to the nearest supermarket. Note: Due to the peacocks and wildlife, please ensure dogs are kept on a lead and children are supervised. Please note a second dog can potentially be agreed if confirmed with Sykes and the Owner first. Please call the office before booking if you require a second dog. Please note , Rushpool Hall is a private residence and not open to the public. Please Note - The owner only accepts a minimum of a 3 night stay. Electric vehicles must not be charged up via the Lodge sockets, there is a charging station located less than 1/2 mile away. Please note: As of 14-09-2022 we will no longer be able to accept a Sunday check in day, any booking that is booked after this date that checks in on a Sunday will be subject to cancellation. Please note: This property does not allow for any booking to be made 72 hours prior to arrival, any booking that is booked after this date that checks in on a Sunday will be subject to cancellation.
Location Details
Saltburn-by-the-Sea is a Victorian seaside resort on the North Yorkshire coast. It is famous for it's cliff railway and its pier and is a good base for discovering the coast and the moors.
The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.

This is a comfortable lodge with a good outlook onto the hall and grounds. The peacocks kept us entertained.
We loved everything about this accommodation. The grounds of Rushpool Hall were beautiful and the coast was easily accessible.
The gardens were lovely and we would like to revisit in Summer. The peacocks were very friendly.

We loved every minute of the holiday. The staff at the hotel where Violet Lodge is situated were extremely helpful and the Lodge itself was warm and welcoming after a day out. Would recommend it to anyone.

Liked the general surroundings and the peacefulness of the whole site. The magnificent hall and grounds were all very well maintained by the young groundsman, will definitely return, many thanks.
The cottage was comfortable and clean. The peacocks are a notable feature of the grounds and we enjoyed watching them choosing a tree and one by one disappearing into the topmost branches to spend the night. Cottage was well placed for coast and moors.
Fantastic grounds - really beautiful. Very friendly and helpful staff at the hotel. A very comfortable and relaxing environment and cottage, plus, in a great location - very close to Saltburn. It was good value for money - I would thoroughly recommend Violet Cottage and will almost certainly return in the future.
We booked with Sykes cottages and stayed in July and are returning again shortly. I have mobility problems and this lodge is ideal for anyone who uses a mobility aid or wheelchair as the doorways are extra wide. It was well equipped and comfortable with excellent views of the grounds and Rushpool Hall. There are lots of peacocks in the grounds and the scenery is lovely. (Free wi-fi is available in the hotel lounge).

We were very impressed by the location the peaceful and calm surroundings. All of the staff were welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful. We enjoyed our holidays and the excellent facilities.
The service I received, from booking the holiday to the service I received once there, was exemplary! The Lodge and location was perfect in every way and I would definitely recommend anyone to stay there!
The lodge was spacious and had everything I needed. The grounds were fabulous and there are some lovely walks.

The log cabin was in a lovely area. Very quiet, lots of places for walking. Plenty of room in the cabin, very clean and warm. Would definitely stay there again.
We were very pleasantly surprised by this lodge. The hotel were very helpful in providing extra bed linen and there is a very convenient supermarket close by to buy provisions. The lodge was clean and well equipped and you get regular visits by the local peacocks which is lovely until they decide to jump on the roof in the early hours! We would definitely book to go again and hopefully get a few other friends to take other lodges at the same time. (we wouldn't bother with breakfast in the hotel again though)
The grounds of Rushpool Hall are fantastic for dog walking a great location setting all the staff were very friendly a great place to relax will definitely return .
Everything suited us, it was so quiet and peaceful. The hotel staff were very helpful and very courteous. All in all a very relaxing holiday.
