This was our second visit to this excellent property, it is a true home from home. We love it so much we booked it for our 2017 holiday while we were there.

The cottage was perfect, without doubt the best cottage we have ever stayed in. It is very well equipped and lacks for nothing. Many attractions are in easy reach. Anyone interested in birds will find the rear garden an absolute joy, fill up the feeders and the many species will provide hours of entertainment, great for camera enthusiasts. A perfect holiday will be had.

It was better than we imagined. The hot tub was amazing too, just what we wanted and more! Will definitely be returning.

It was to an excellent standard throughout and in a great position for the beach and walks. The rear garden was very private. Will definitely return. Overall this is the best cottage by far that any of our party have stayed in. It was great for the dog also.

A lovely, well equipped and comfortable cottage in a good location. It had everything you could need plus the bonus of a hot tub, would not hesitate to recommend this cottage to all of my friends.

A clean, well refurbished and well situated property. We would book this cottage again.

This was a beautiful property in an excellent location. A lot of thought has gone into this lovely home from home. There was everything you could ever need provided. It has a fantastic kitchen diner, lovely comfy sofas and beds, a beautiful conservatory a modern clean bathroom and a wet room. The garden was secure for dogs and downstairs floors were easy to keep clean of sandy paws. The attention to detail was excellent and the guest information provided was very helpful. We could happily live there for ever.

This cottage was truly fantastic. We loved everything about it, brilliant for children too. We shall most definitely book to go here again.

The cottage is a real home from home in beautiful surroundings & the hot tub is a bit of extra luxury we all enjoyed. The garden is secluded & secure, great for our dogs. It appears semi detached but your only neighbour is the village hall & the golf course! A great location for sightseeing & enjoying a huge number of North Wales/Snowdonia attractions. We'll definitely be coming again!

We stayed at the Ty'r Y Shol from the 17th to 24th April and were fortunate enough to have seven days of absolutely gorgeous sunny weather to allow us to enjoy the Welsh coast and countryside. To be quite honest we couldn’t have been happier staying in the holiday home and couldn’t have found anything better. The cottage is exceptional and has everything you could want and more. It has all the mod cons, a wonderful conservatory to sit and have the early morning cup of tea, watching the different varieties of birds in the garden, if you’re lucky the woodpecker will pay you a visit and this is something you can’t quite believe. The kitchen has everything you need and provides a very nice setting to have your evening meals. We planned to eat out a lot but because the cottage was so lovely, we ate in nearly every evening. There is a wood burning stove in the lounge that would be fantastic to make up on a cold evening. The cottage is situated next to a golf course and about a ten minute walk to the beach. There is a SPAR shop within two minutes walk and a fish and chip shop next door to that. Porthmadog is a 5 minute drive away and has local shops as well as a Tesco, Aldi and Lidl. You have to make the most of the cottage’s location and explore the coast and villages. Criccieth has a host of lovely restaurants and Abersoch was my personal favourite where we saw Bottle Nosed Dolphins playing in the bay. The Wales Coastal Path is a must, with walks along the sand and on the cliffs, popping in and out of bays and towns along the way. Snowdon was less than 30 minutes away and we made the best of the good weather by walking to the top and back. The local beach is stunning at low tide, with miles of soft golden sand and wonderful green and blue sea. Finally the piece de resistance, the hot tub! After spending the days walking it was simply wonderful to return home to a fantastic hot tub, looking up at the hills, watching the buzzards flying up above and soaking away the aches and pains. In terms of rating the cottage, it is definitely a 10/10. The Hudson’s have done a fantastic job on the accommodation and I cannot think of one thing I would change.

A nice home to come back to after a day of roaming around the countryside, the grandchildren loved the hot tub. The garden was very secure to let the dogs just run about. The owners had thought of everything to stock the house for the week.

We had a fantastic holiday, Wales was beautiful and the cottage had everything we needed and was a home from home. The guest book was a nice touch and the recommendations book was very useful. Had a wonderful hot tub, fab underfloor heating and it was great to have two showers as there were six of us. The cottage was well kitted out, the best one I have ever stayed in and we have stayed in a few. Will definitely stay here again.

This property is one of the best cottages we have ever stopped in. Ten out of ten for everything. Even comfortable garden furniture.

The hot tub was a great favourite with the kids, even though the weather wasn't great the tub was still used a lot.

Rated by Mrs Hesketh reviewed on 23rd August 2014

A particularly well-equipped and welcoming property-as a family, we were happy to spend time in the house and garden. We were treated like old friends coming to stay-a truly outstanding property! The location is great for young families or adults wanting to explore the fabulous area. I simply cannot find a negative about this whole experience-many thanks to all concerned!

A fantastic little getaway. Enjoyed everything about the house. It was well thought out and lacked for nothing. A great location, great doggy walking or just relaxing in the garden watching golfers I thoroughly enjoyed my week. The place was so clean and even milk in the fridge which I did appreciate and the hot tub went down very well with the family. Will definitely go again in the future

Liked the closeness to a fabulous beach (10 mins walk maximum) that was dog friendly, the hot tub and that the cottage was dog friendly with a safe enclosed garden for them.

Rated by Mrs Goodwin reviewed on 2nd August 2014

The overall standard was very high. We have been doing cottage holidays for over 10 years and I would say this had to be the best equipped, with nothing forgotten we have come across. It obviously has been designed by a very artistic person and we loved the seaside theme. The underfloor heating was fantastic, particularly in a morning. The welcome pack was much appreciated, money has been spent on this place and it shows.

Rated by Mr Raisbeck reviewed on 24th May 2014

Wow..What a great place and such a warm and homely feel! From the moment we set foot in the door we loved the place, everything was perfect. The hot tub was a real hit and after a long walk either in the National Park or on the lovely beach; what better way to relax. It was perfect and we will definitely be looking to book again soon. Thanks for a wonderful stay and for sharing this lovely house.

Rated by Mr Kennedy reviewed on 28th April 2014

The house was stunning. It should be 5 star and not 4. The fires and hot tub were fantastic. No expense spared in every aspect of the house.

Quality of the property. The location near the beach was excellent.

Gorgeous cottage, it had everything we needed. Great log burners, and hot tub made the holiday really special! Amazing location near the beach and mountains of Snowdonia! We really enjoyed our holiday, we did not want to come home!

Excellent renovated house within easy reach of good beach and short coastal walk to Porthmadog. House very well equipped with every convenience and very comfortable. Warm and inviting with lovely hot tub in back garden with views to hills across the golf course. Conservatory with wet room off. Wood burning stoves and underfloor heating which we didn't actually need but nice to know they were available. And plenty to do round about- 2 different narrow gauge steam trains in Porthmadog alone. close to Snowdonia and Portmeirion , good beaches, castles! We had a wonderful weeks stay and still have lots we didn't do.

Rated by Anthony B reviewed on 6th October 2013

The house itself is immaculate. The décor is brilliant, the beds are comfortable, the house is warm and welcoming. Easy to keep clean. Nice views to the rear of the garden, and safe in the gardens for a child to play. Brilliant clean hot tub. Nice wood burning stoves. Underfloor heating. Nice bath and showers. Good information given about how to use things in the house, and good information on the surrounding area. All in all a brilliant holiday, and we were sad to leave.

From the moment we arrived at the property we were thoroughly impressed the house could not have been nicer. The views from the rear of the property were breathtaking. It was a wonderful family holiday and we send thanks to the owner for making Tyr Ysgol a beautiful place to stay.
