We spent 2 nights in Clematis Cottage, Tealby exploring the local area. The cottage is beautifully presented with luxury fixtures and fittings. The accommodation was spotless and there were lovely little extras like fresh milk, local cheese etc. to make us feel welcome when we arrived. The village is idyllic and has some fantastic walks, a great pub and excellent access to the Wolds and east coast beaches. We could not recommend Clematis Cottage highly enough.

Wow! My hubby and I have spent the weekend here with the dog and have to admit it’s just perfect. Everything we have needed has been on hand. The cottage is lovely decorated, with comfortable beds, a big bathroom and a nice sized garden. The welcome pack left for us included a plum loaf, cheese and home made mince pies. Our dog loves the beach and Cleethorpes is fantastic plus only 30 minutes away from Tealby. We found the Kings Head, 5 minute walk from the cottage, to be very dog friendly and the food was delicious. Would highly recommend this property for a relaxing break which is exactly what we needed.

Clematis cottage is located in the stunning Lincolnshire Wolds village of Tealby. It's an off the beaten track location but easy to get to. A great cottage to relax without the hustle bustle of the usual busy holiday destinations. The cottage is charming and cosy. Everything has been catered for by the owners to ensure you have a great time. A vintage tea room, village shop and two pubs are within short walk from the front door. Likewise there are numerous walks in the area. There are also plenty of other destinations within a short drive such as Lincoln and Louth. Would highly recommend.

Sorry for the delay of writing this, didn't realise that self catering was on the trip advisor list...how very remiss of me! Having studied extensively, Sykes Cottages website over the many years we have had the privilege of using this excellent company, i fell in love with this property from the moment i set eyes on it.........many years ago! It was always going to be on 'my list' of properties that i wanted to go to...and i can categorically say that you didn't disappoint! I fell in love with every little nook and cranny....even down to 'Boris" the eight legged wonder that surfaced in the bathroom one morning, which when ejected safely from the premises, found his hairy way back the next morning, he obviously has extremely good taste in properties!! It was a pleasure to 'come home' every evening, and put our feet up with a glass or two of local brew or in my case a rather tasty red! This was the case of having the dream holiday property , over the the actual location. As far as i am concerned Clematis could have been miles from civilisation, and i would have still wanted to go there! It was just fortuitous that it was in a lovely village with a rather nicely presented public house, and tearoom to boot!! Many thanks again for a wonderful stay.

We have just booked our fourth stay at Clematis cottage. Our first year, we stayed a week, then two weeks, and our next stays have been for a month. We truly feel at home when staying at the cottage. An attention to every detail has been provided by the owners. The kitchen is so well equipped, very modern, and plenty of dishes to make ones stay delightful. If course the location is everything. It's convenient to Lincoln, and a Tesco is a 5 minute drive. The tea room next door, the village shop, and not to leave out Sunnyside farm shop, make this a perfect location for a holiday. The walks through the village and the surrounding areas are a delight, and this is why we keep coming back year after year.

A lovely, well maintained cottage with all the facilities necessary to keep you warm on a cold November evening: good central heating and two stoves. The kitchen is large and well-equipped and the bathroom is very well appointed (we loved the lighting in it). There was good WiFi which sadly meant we left a day early due to a flurry of work emails. We visited one of the pubs for an evening meal and were thankful for the torch supplied - there are no streetlights and it was a very dark walk. We must come back sometime in the lighter evenings!

The cottage surpassed our expectations, there wasn't one thing we could fault. There was everything there that one needed for a lovely holiday. The owners have put in a lot of thought.

It was cosy and comfortable even during one of the coldest snaps of the winter.

A well equipped and well appointed cottage, with a lovely bathroom. In a quiet location and situated close to enjoyable walks along the Viking Way and the surrounding area.

We liked the cleanliness, welcome pack which included tea, coffee, hot chocolate and a welcome card as you walked inside the cottage. Flowers in every room.

Just got back from a weeks holiday in this cottage with my wife and our dog. This was a great property that had all we needed. Good location and well equipped as well. Just watch your head if you are tall as a couple of low doorways. We really enjoyed the stay and would certainly go again. When we arrived there was a wonderful welcome pack and some lovely little touches that we really appreciated. A well deserved 4 star cottage. Thanks to the owners for the stay. Only thing I could improve would be to have to log burner in the rear room.

We have stayed in Clematis cottage 2 years in a row now and it is perfect for a lovely relaxing break. Very well equipped and warm with a fantastic kitchen and bathroom. The addition of a wood burner in the dining room (not shown on the pics), modern TV and ipod docking stations were new this year which was nice. It is very welcoming with fresh flowers and a whole host of local yummy goodies and wine laid out for your arrival which is a lovely personal touch. Hard floors downstairs make it great for dogs but lots of rugs keeps the cosy feel. It is very clean which is not always the case with dog friendly cottages and you would be pleased to stay here with or without dogs. The lounge and dining room could do with a bit of an update in the decor, but to be honest I am being really picky here. I am sure we will stay again, there is lots to do in the area and the village is absolutely gorgeous with great local walks and cute couple of gift shops. The local pubs are quite dated but welcoming (one of which is not dog friendly) but we only went once as it was so nice just to spend evenings cosying up in the cottage.

Beautiful cosy cottage with modern bathroom and kitchen. Situated in a quiet pretty village but within easy travelling distance of Lincoln, Louth and many other places. Have already booked to go back for Christmas this year and counting the days already. Highly recommended.

Clematis Cottage was superb. Fitted out to a very high standard in an old world village with two pubs and Lincoln, Mablethorpe, Louth and Market Rasen nearby.

The cottage was so cosy, comfortable and truly felt like a home from home. The location of the cottage is so peaceful but not isolated. I would honestly recommend to friends and family and hope to return myself.

We loved the Cottage which had all kinds of quirky features and added touches of luxury that we don't usually find. Tealby is an attractive village with old cottages and beautiful cottage gardens. People were very friendly and it was a good area for walking our dog.

This cottage has been the best we have ever stayed in. It was very cosy and the surrounding area was so nice and relaxing, even in winter there were lots of things to do. The hosts helped us with questions and were so lovely.

Ideally located for sightseeing in LIncolnshire; warm and comfortable accommodation.

Rated by Mr Mantle reviewed on 6th January 2014

Lovely cottage, warm and comfortable. This would be an ideal retreat for star gazers as no street lighting and if we return we will definitely take our telescope with us. We found lots to do in the area. The Newark Air Museum was great. If you are into photography then you must visit the viewing area for the Humber Bridge. You can walk under the bridge for some great shots. Nice walk in the grounds of Doddington Hall followed by a visit to 'Bauble Barn' which was fab. I would highly recommend the area and this cottage.

The perfect home from home without any of the jobs to do! Location, dog friendly, hospitality of proprietor, attention to detail inside the property, little extras.

Rated by Mrs Kenton reviewed on 11th December 2013

Excellent all round, a home from home with unique personal touches to make the accommodation feel welcoming and and comfortable. Our stay was just prior to Xmas and the cottage had a Xmas tree, lights and just a a touch of tasteful seasonal décor that made it the perfect little Lincolnshire village cottage in winter.

Rated by Mrs Kenton reviewed on 11th December 2013

The cottage was clean and well presented , the owner had left a welcome tray which was very welcome after a long journey and consisted of local produce. The cottage was situated in a small village and we enjoyed the peace and quiet of the area, which allowed us to relax. However the cottage was not to far from the main towns and city if you wished to visit.

Rated by Mrs Ring reviewed on 7th December 2013

It was well equipped to a high standard, and although on a road it was very quiet. There were good walks nearby, and the local pubs catered well for ramblers. All in all a good location to get to know Lincolnshire.
