We had a fantastic stay at Alpine Cottage. Tracey was a great host; we felt she was there whenever we needed, and very helpful, but it didn't ever feel like she was intruding on us. The kitchen facilities are great, the bed is really comfortable, and the log burner is very warm. Our dog absolutely loves Tracey too! Having the Copper Kettle café right next door is a big bonus, with gluten free and vegan options. It's no trouble to get round to the garden for toilet breaks for the dog, but the green right outside the front door is a very easy option. The garden is lovely, and a sun trap throughout the day (as long as the sun is out!). There are so many walks to explore and plenty of guidebooks in the cottage, but Tracey is also very knowledgeable on walks and places to visit. We would definitely stay here again. Thank-you!

Another wonderful stay in Alpine Cottage. Homemade flapjack and treats for our dog on arrival. Very comfortable and cosy. I love the log burner so cosy. Perfect location and amazing walks close by. The cottage is so well equipped and Tracey the owner is so kind and helpful. Would definitely recommend this apartment. Will definitely be returning in the very near future. Thank you Tracey.

This apartment is absolutely wonderful. Everything we could have possibly needed. Our dog was very welcome and we will definitely be returning. A very lovely week with some long walks in the stunning countryside and some good food in the surrounding pubs.

I enjoyed a fabulous long weekend with my Dad and dog Ollie. Ollie was made to feel very welcome with a box of dog towels that we amazingly didn’t need as the weather was very kind to us. The log burner kept us warm and snug. The kitchen had a library of great cookbooks with plenty of equipment to create a lovely meal. However for our short stay the selection of places to eat nearby kept us full. Highly recommended; we look forward to returning.

We stayed at Alpine Cottage for a week and will definitely return. Reeth is a lovely place to stay wilth great amenities including cafes, pubs, and shops. It’s a friendly village and there are nice walks if you want to explore Swaledale. There’s a small market on Friday morning too. The cottage itself was well-presented and equipped, with a great kitchen which had absolutely everything you could need. It also had a comfy living room with a large sofa and dining area, and great bedrooms with amazingly comfortable beds and beautiful furniture. There is a secret garden when the weather is good, but due to a wet week, we enjoyed the wood-burner every day! We felt toasty warm throughout our stay. The owner lives nearby and is available if you need any help or advice. We left wishing we could stay longer. We can’t wait to return.

Ideally situated in the lovely village of Reeth in the Yorkshire Dales. This cottage is an ideal base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales. Reeth has a number of local pubs which all offer excellent food and are particularly dog freindly. The cottage is fully equipped with all mod cons but also retains a homely cottage feel. This was our third stay at this cottage and will not be our last.

Just returned from a weeks holiday at alpine cottage. It was lovely to come back after a day walking to a clean comfortable cottage that had everything we needed. Walking was on the doorstep so we didn't have to travel very far to enjoy the fabulous views. A great relaxing place to stay and we will definitely be returning the owner was very welcoming and happy to talk to us about Reef. Carol and Ray

Lovely, well equipped cottage in a beautiful village in the stunning Yorkshire dales. Friendly host and very welcoming to both us and our guide dog puppy who especially appreciated the dog biscuits. Nice, enclosed garden but not accessible directly from the cottage (although just around the corner). Plenty of walks from the front door so we didn't need to use the car every day, and 3 dog friendly pubs in the village. We were even blessed with warm, sunny weather every day - what's not to like!

We had a 3 night stay at Alpine Cottage recently and it was perfect. The cottage itself was spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped. The two bedrooms were a good size - one with a double bed and the other 3 singles. There was adequate storage place in both rooms. The bathroom was in very good condition and clean - my only small complaint would be it could do with a small shelf or somewhere to put all the toiletries a family seems to need! The kitchen has everything you need and the owner (Tracey) left some beautiful flapjacks. Just the perfect treat with a cup of tea after a long day exploring the Dales. The added bonus of this property is its location in the centre of Reeth with pubs and coffee shops. Would definitely recommend this property and we hope to return in the future - next time with our dog (who stayed at home this time!) as dogs are very welcome!

As dog owners we are always on the lookout for properties that are truly dog-friendly as opposed to dog tolerant with a list of non-dog-friendly rules. Alpine cottage is in our top five so far wit dog beds provided, poo bags and even a welcome that included dog biscuits (and flapjacks for us). It’s well equipped and central to one of the loveliest villages in the Yorkshire Dales - a prime site for walking the beautiful Swaledale and adjacent Arkengarthdale. In short a perfect cottage in a perfect location.

I booked directly with the owners to celebrate my husbands 56th birthday. We’ve been to Reeth several times & have fallen in love with the village & the walks the area offers. 4 Alpine Cottage was perfect for our stay along with our Border Terrier, Brian. The cottage is a very comfortable home from home & has everything you could possibly need to make your stay hassle free. The log burner in the sitting room was fabulous; it made it difficult for us to peel ourselves away from its cosyness & venture the short distance to one of the 3 village pubs; our favourite being The Buck, that said, the Kings Head would be hard to beat in terms of the treats supplied to Brian. The hot tub in the private garden at the rear of the cottage is amazing, a real feature. It is heated by a log burner & works a treat. Having been in many a hot tub; this is definitely the best in terms of heat & looks. I hope it is still there when we return next year. Thanks again Tracey for a fantastic stay & of course the delicious home made flapjack & Tonys birthday card.

We have stayed 3 times now in Alpine Cottage and we absolutely love everything about it. The cleanliness, the location, everything in the cottage you could possibly need and so comfortable and warm. Tracey the owner is absolutely lovely and cant do enough for you. The complimentary flapjack on arrival was delicious. The hot tub is amazing. Cant wait to go back in the near future.

A fabulous location with several pubs close by for eating out. This clean, well equipped, dog friendly cottage is the perfect retreat. It is so well equipped the host has thought of everything for you and your pooch. The garden to the rear of the property is private and enclosed to keep your pooch safe. It is well tended and boasts a wood burning hot tub which is great to unwind in after a long day, with a glass of wine. In bad weather you can play table tennis or darts in the games room. There are great views from every window including one from the roll top bath. Wifi signal is excellent too. Reeth also has 3 great pubs for you to eat at and the Buck also does take away food. We have stayed here twice now and will definitely be back.

This was our second break at Alpine Cottage - it is a wonderful cosy and warm apartment - exceptionally clean and caters for everything you need - lovely log burner for cosy winter nights and the beds are so comfortable. The wood fired hot tub is amazing and so relaxing - and I can't speak highly enough of Tracey and Katie - two kinder people I have yet to meet. They are so welcoming from the homemade flapjack and dog treats to their offer of mum sitting and dog sitting - they are wonderful. There are several pubs just up the hill and the food in the Kings Arms is delicious and the landlord and landlady are lovely. Will definitely be returning every year to this wonderful cottage.

Stayed here after Christmas for new year. What a perfect way to get over Christmas blues! An amazing sparkly clean cottage with everything you could ever need. Hosts Tracey and Katie are the best couldn't do enough for us and lovely personal touches such as flap jack on arrival. The hot tub was amazing and we knew exactly when it was ready when our hosts kindly told us on the chaulk board nothing was too much trouble. Reeth itself was a gorgeous picture post card village and the residents were so welcoming and friendly. There was a spectacular firework display on New Year's Day in the village which was amazing. Thanks so much look forward to visiting again soon.

Just back from a break in Alpine Cottage. This is a real find. Cosy, extremely well equipped in an excellent location. The cottage isn’t simply dog-friendly, it goes one step beyond to make sure your dog has as brilliant a stay as you do (the cosiest spot, by the real log fire, is reserved, on a luxury Snoozzzeee dog bed for your canine companion). A slipper bath makes the bathroom really stylish. The beds are very comfortable, an essential after exploring Swaledale on the myriad of paths and routes from the front door. There are gentle strolls, river walks, hill climbs, a wealth of genuinely impressive archaeology and so much more here. A quality selection of pubs serving good food and friendly Yorkshire cafes are arranged around the village green and all a stone's throw from Alpine Cottage. And then you find that the cottage has its own secret garden with a singular wooden eco hot tub tucked away in one corner. Hidden behind the games room (where you can be as bad at table tennis as I am and no one will ever know) you have a rustic green area all to yourself. Half the fun is tending the wood burning hot tub to get the temperature just right for an evening soak under the stars. And I really can’t do this review without mentioning owners Katie and Tracey. What a welcome, and how helpful they were throughout the week. We couldn’t have asked for more. Reeth and the surrounding area is certainly somewhere I would never tire of visiting and Alpine Cottage would be my first choice of accommodation.

Just back from the most amazing break myself, husband and our 2 dogs have had in a long time. The cottage caters for everyones needs and the owners tracey and katie really have thought of everything this really is probably better equiped than our own house i must admit. The tiny little touches from the dog beds in front of the beautiful wood burning stove (our dogs really did enjoy these) to the home made cookies on arrival.. The host really cant do anymore to help you and even offered and did have our hot tub up and running on the nights we wanted to use it including supplying lovely little lanterns and candles round the tub, what more could anyone want. This truely was a fantastic stay and we are already looking at dates for our next visit. I really can stay you wont be disapointed. The cottage is also in a excellent location for walks, and i really do recommend visitng the buck service and food excellent.

Everything about this cottage is wonderful, from the Hot Tub in the enclosed garden, to the free standing bath. The scenery is spectacular and the cottage is just yards from the 3 Pubs in the village. Everything is catered for, there's even a dishwasher, and washing machine. A lot of thought has gone into making this cottage 'dog friendly'. Would we go back? 100% yes, now we have tried it in the summer (sort of) we would love to see what winter is like in this delightful dale

We came to Reeth with our 4 month puppy for a week in March - and had a brilliant time. The apartment is furnished and equipped to a very high standard - plenty of towels and dressing gowns for the hot tub - and the living room is wonderful to relax in with the wood burning stove and admire the views from two sides of Yorkshire Countryside. Beds are very comfy (important to me!) and bedrooms have plenty of storage space, and even the thoughtful addition of a laundry basket! Lots of little touches throughout the apartment that make it a wonderfully relaxing place to stay, starting with the now infamous flapjacks! The village has everything you need, two shops (one open until 7 for last minute supper items!) and three decent pubs which all serve good quality food! Dogs very welcome, and can recommend the Buck for takeaway pizza. If you want to splash out the Hotel food is amazing, but meal times are set and definitely need booking!! Ice cream parlour was tested by my 8 & 9 year old, more than once... and the gift shop has some wonderful local crafts to take home. The chocolate is highly recommended!! Reeth is on the doorstep of great walks either in rolling countryside, or to some amazing waterfalls. Our puppy loved the outdoors and all the new things to see, and I think we all blew some cobwebs out! We had all sorts of weather, including snow and sunshine alternating one day! Come prepared.... The absolute without a doubt highlight of the holiday was the wood fired hot tub. I have been in a plastic hot tub once, and was really put off by the chemicals, but there is just water in this hot tub. Water that is heated to 40 degrees, that's hot bath temperature...... And with the jacuzzi bubbles going, drinking something chilled and possibly fizzy, with rain gently falling on you after a long day being blown around on the Dales, there is really nothing better. Unless it's with chocolate too. Tracey and Katie kindly get it going for you when you're out yomping, so you come back to relax in a lovely hot, and I mean hot tub with glorious views. This is the perfect place to stay, Tracey and Katie are wonderful hosts and are there when you need them and not when you don't! Will definitely come back! P.S. Husband now wants to buy a wood fired hot tub, suspect he won't be the last....

This was our 1st visit to Swaledale and we could not have chosen a better apartment to stay in. It manages to be both cosy and stylish. The kitchen is better equipped than my own. There is a working wood burning stove in the living room as well as central heating, and in the bathroom a slipper bath with a fantastic view of the dales to enjoy while relaxing in the bath after a days walking. There is also a separate walk in shower. The flat has all mod cons flat screen TV, dishwasher, washer/drier. The icing on the cake for this apartment is the wood burning hot tub. A real delight to experience on a starry night with flurries of snowflakes but no doubt good on sunny days too. The owners Kate and Tracey are very friendly and helpful.

A beautiful well equipped flat over looking Reeth village green. Perfect location. Great pubs & shops around the green & of course the wonderful Yorkshire sales on your doorstep. We got lucky with the weather & had 4 great walks right from the front door. The accommodation is superb with every facility you would need & the lovely owners welcomed us with some very tasty homemade flapjack. The hot tub was great & a wonderful way to see the new year in. I'd highly recommend staying here.

We had a fantastic time. The kitchen must be the best equipped we've ever had in a holiday rental. Everything we needed for our Christmas roast. The rest of the rooms perfectly comfortable and the log burner adds to the cosy atmosphere. Then of course there's the wood-fired hot tub! Loved it. Reeth had everything we needed having had the supermarket deliver our weeks food that we ordered before we left home. The village shop was well stocked though, the pubs were all excellent and there's even a post office. All within a stones throw of the cottage. We only used the car once all week to take a trip to the excellent Campbell's grocery/deli in Leyburn, any foodie in the area should drop by. Our only negative was there is zero mobile coverage for Vodafone or O2 not only at the cottage but the entire locality, obviously not anything the owners can do anything about.

I am currently writing this in the cottage in complete peace as husband and children are playing happily in the play barn with huge boxes of lego! We are so impressed with this beautiful cottage - probably the nicest we have ever stayed in. Cottage itself is lovely - finished to a very high standard with everything you could wish for - finally a kitchen that has everything in need to cook for a family! The fire and bath are perfect for cosy Autumn evenings and the hot tub is an extra treat. Katie and Tracey are lovely and really made us feel at home -the flapjacks and welcome pack were lovely (although I was forced to eat all the scrumptious flapjacks!). Reeth itself is a little gem - lots of fantastic child friendly walks from the door, a vibrant community with local shops, lovely ice cream parlour, cafes etc. Cannot recommend both the cottage and village highly enough. Can't find a singly thing I'd improve!!!

We stayed in the Alpine Cottage for the first week of our summer holidays this year. We had a fantastic time with our hosts Katie and Tracey having the hot tub ready for our arrival along with some the best homemade flapjacks I have every had. This is the third year in a row we have stayed in the UK and to date have not regretted our decison not to go abroad. The accomodation had everything we needed, including a picnic basket - which I thought was a lovely touch. We had a great time in the games room playing table tennis and darts but for us the hot tub was the best. It was amazing - indeed our son came to visit us from London and we could not get him out of the tub. Our hosts Katie and Tracey could not do enough for us. Yorkshire is stunning with views almost as good as Scotland. We loved how everyone got into the spirty of the Tour de France with yellow bikes everywhere, including a farmer's field!! A very relaxing and extremely enjoyable holiday - thank you both very much. The Robertsons
