Reviews

Ted's Place is clean, comfortable, well equipped cottage in Aylsham, with everything one would need for weeks holiday. It is very quiet, within walking distance of the Town centre Pubs and Restaurants. The owner left fresh flowers and a bottle of Prosecco (not everybody's favourite) as a welcome. However, there are two caveats to consider. The cottage is on a very narrow, one way street, and parking is impossible, and parking has become more difficult in neighbouring streets as local residents put up "Polite No Parking" notices. The lounge of the cottage is very dark and cold, even in July, due to a very large tree within 20 feet of the front door, which meant that all lights were on during the duration.

We stayed here for two nights and can't fault it. Beautiful cottage, very clean and a very relaxed and cosy place. The step at the front door is a little high and think could maybe add another toilet in the cottage, other than that is a beautiful place. Perfect for the relaxing town of Aylsham. Great walking distance to the town and all round a lovely place. Will definitely be returning in the future.

Ted's Place is an absolute delight. It has everything you need from the i-pod docking station in the lounge to the 50s style american fridge freezer in the kitchen and the teddy waiting for you in the bedroom. If you need it, it will be there. This is the first holiday where we have not had to go out and buy a potato peeler or a pair or scissors or some small item that always seems to be missing. The lounge is spacious but yet feels cosy. There is ample reading material covering the local area, plus books and games to keep you entertained. The TV picture is crystal clear, the seating comfy and the flowers on the windowsill a delightful touch. The kitchen has everything you need, and plenty you won't need too. We were welcomed with a bottle of sparkling wine in the fridge and the cupboards house all those condiments you suddenly realise you need but forgot to bring with you. There is plenty of tea and coffee and milk to get you through the unpacking. The bedrooms are lovely and the beds extremely comfy. The quilts were lovely and warm for the cooler nights and the pillows had plenty of 'squash' in them as my youngest daughter noted. The bathroom is just luxury, with the freestanding claw footed bath. Do find the bath mat though otherwise you'll be sliding down and shuffling back for the duration. Relaxing after a long day, with bubbles in the wine and water was pure decadence but delightful. Our dog loved the garden which was easily accessible and looked gorgeous with the autumnal turn of leaves and the glistening red crab apples. I really couldn't fault this lovely place, except that the front step was little high and my arthritic knees did not approve. Having a couple shoves on the bottom got me through the door, but I found it most easily remedied by going through the back door after the first couple of ungainly attempts. Alysham itself is a beautiful town and only a two minute walk from the cottage. The pace is slow and it feels almost like stepping back in time. How wonderful to visit a butcher and a baker and greengrocer for our produce rather than the supermarkets. There is also a recreational ground within a ten minute walk in the opposite direction to the town. Great for our Sheltie who preferred the wide open space. We never had a problem with parking either, always finding a space further along the lane. Would we go back? Absolutely. Would we recommed it? Without a doubt.

The property was absolutely beautiful in a lovely location. Everything we needed was provided from kitchen equipment to board games and books. The garden was quiet and very pretty. I did not want to go home and hope to visit the property again.

A beautiful cottage, very well equipped. Situated close to many places of interest and within easy reach of Norwich for shopping. Aylsham is a pretty market town and the cottage is situated 2 minutes from the centre.

We had the most wonderful time at Ted's Place. The owners have created a homely, relaxing and most luxurious setting which we all enjoyed immensely. The master bedroom felt like staying in a Parisian boutique hotel. Our three boys all enjoyed the garden, DVD collection and our youngest loved playing with Ted's toys. The owner has thought of everything to ensure your stay at Ted's Place is a pleasurable experience. Including super sightseeing ideas to the well equipped kitchen and pantry. We came home energised.

The location of the property, within walking distance of the town square, yet on a quiet road, is perfect. The overall ambience of the cottage is lovely, the personal touches left by the owner very much appreciated and the standard of decoration and furnishings excellent.

We have just spent the most relaxing five days at Ted's Place Aylsham, Norfolk. All so lovely I didn't want to go home! The house absolutely immaculate, comfortable, and well equipped. The owner so helpful, and provides all those very special details ie flowers etc to make you feel so special. Excellent location. You can walk to the shops, and dine at the Black Boys an excellent pub without having to get in the car! Also convenient to North Norfolk Coast, Norfolk Broads, and Norwich. We will certainly return. A definite 5 star.

Impossible to fault, we wanted for nothing at Ted's Place. Ted's Place is local to all the main attractions of Norfolk, one hour in any direction were the Broads, Norwich, great Yarmouth and Cromer. The local bus service is very good, if you are a metro bus pass holder you can go by bus anywhere in Nolfolk. Overall not one complaint thank you.

The cottage was perfect with everything you needed to make the stay comfortable. Aylsham is a lovely little town, made all the better by the friendliness of all the people we met there. We did not take a car but still found getting around to see the area very easy by using the buses. The owner very kindly organised bus times for us which proved invaluable.

A top notch property - homely, extremely well furnished and well thought out. A bottle of wine and milk awaiting us in the fridge as well as a few essentials, most welcome. Almost like borrowing a friends house for the weekend! We'd love to return and would recommend!

5 star! A wonderful home from home, with everything you could ask for; well presented, clean and tidy. A lovely large garden, comfy beds, fully stocked kitchen, high chair, cot and even dog bowls! The property is on a quiet lane close to the centre of this small town, with everything you need, lovely walks for the dog, and a short drive to lovely towns like Holt. Would we recommend to friends? absolutely!

Xx 5 star xx A wonderful home from home, with everything you could ask for, well presented, clean and tidy, lovely large garden, comfy beds, fully stocked kitchen, high chair, cot, even dog bowls! The property is on a quiet lane close to the centre of this small town, with everything you need, tesco, co-op, pubs, cafe's, chocolate shop, lovely walks for the dog, and a short drive to lovely towns like Holt, beaches or into Norwich (great shopping for the wife!) The only two things people my have issues with is the limited parking on the lane at the front, and the garden is accessed via a communal path (gates were always shut! And both neighbours are lovely). Would we recommend to friends? - absolutely!

Aylsham is a beautiful little village, and such a welcome break from London. We had an absolutely lovely time, and it is mainly down to the owner's dedication and attention to detail within the property. This is obviously a well looked after, beautiful family home, and anyone staying here should feel privileged! She has decorated the house beautifully, it is a lovely country cottage, and everything is of very high quality. We could not recommend this cottage highly enough, and we will definitely be back!
