Location Details

The area around Tintagel is dominated by the sea, rugged coastline, secluded coves and incredible scenery. The town is famous as the home of the legendary King Arthur's castle, and the castle ruins still overlook the cliff side outside the town. Several beaches, the closest being Trebarwith Strand, are within reach and great surfing is also on offer locally. The South West Coast Path travels through the town and navigates along the cliff tops in both directions through magnificent countryside, then winds down to the sea's edge. 2.5 miles along the path is the village of Boscastle with its charming old fashioned quay and good village pubs. Tintagel itself offers several pubs and restaurants and the Old Post Office, a National Trust property that is well worth a visit. The popular surfing centre of Bude is 15 miles distant, and Bodmin Moor, Padstow and the fascinating Eden Project are all an easy drive away.

Cornwall's visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain's premier holiday destinations.

Wonderful place to stay for a short break. Welcoming and warm. Comfortable for winter afternoon and evening in. Log burner and comfy sofas. Our pup was relaxed and happy. Lots of local walks and short drives to visit places of interest. Highly recommend and will return!

We absolutely fell in love with this holiday cottage. It was so welcoming and cosy. We could have stayed there longer if it was possible to do so. We will definitely be coming back here.

Holiday was very good. Nice location, cottage beautiful, owner was extremely helpful. First Class.

Rated by Mr Calderwood reviewed on 15th November 2015

There is a lovely garden outside this holiday flat and it's well located for those wishing to get onto the South West Coastal Path without getting back into their car. Oddly, we never saw or spoke to anyone involved in letting us the flat, which was a bit odd. Just a voicemail message explaining that the key would be in the door when we arrived and a request to leave the key in the door when we left. And while there was a lot of decor - pictures of ocean waves on the walls and knick-nacks typical of holiday lets - there were some basics missing. No extra blanket, just one duvet in the whole place. There were kitchen things like egg cups and a pizza slice, but there was nothing to make coffee in. We improvised using our own thermos and a big sieve. The layout of the flat is also a bit odd - clearly a flat awkwardly carved out of what was once a house. But the heating and hot water worked!

Loved the log burner, gave a real sense of warmth to the cottage on a cold night.

Rated by Mr Jones reviewed on 18th February 2015

The log burner was great when we sat in front of it, with a glass wine each on a cold evening.

Rated by Mr Jones reviewed on 10th February 2015

I was looking for somewhere totally peaceful where I could get on with some writing and this proved the perfect retreat. Very picturesque and tasteful. A short walk into the village provided all my needs. The wood burner made for cosy evenings even though it was mild for October. I slept brilliantly every night. So many beautiful coastal spots a short drive away and less than ten minutes to walk to the coastal path for fabulous views and broad Atlantic vistas. Highly recommended.

Well presented, comfortable, quiet and well-equipped, this cottage is close to a bus-stop for access to Tintagel or to other places along the coast. A 5 minute walk leads straight to fields and the SW Coast Path. A secluded garden offers sunny relaxation and convenient parking is available.

A very pleasant, peaceful and relaxing week at this cottage which had everything that we required. The owners were just next door had we wanted them. Very nice to see the smallholding animals roaming about freely Easy access to Tintagel and other North Cornwall resorts.

You wouldn't know dogs had stayed there, it was so clean. Bed was very comfortable. It is a sweet little flat in good location.

Rated by Mrs Dresser reviewed on 7th May 2013

Close to the coast. Easy walk into Tintagel. Scenery very beautiful. Interesting places to visit not too far away. Bus transport good and punctual. Good weather helped of course.

Rated by Mrs Salmon reviewed on 27th October 2012

The cottage was very clean and well equipped, with more than enough space for two people. It was a nice touch to see a bottle of wine left for us, although some tea bags and a drop of milk would have been more useful! The lounge allowed us to spread out (a sofa each!)and the patio outside was quite private. Being so close to Tintagel meant we could walk to the shops, and having a bus stop next to the cottage was handy for our one way coastal walk (although buses pretty infrequent so careful planning needed). The worst thing about the cottage was the lack of privacy when inside. Residents of the neighbouring cottage walked right past our kitchen window regularly, and the bathroom window was a patio door with no curtain, so we had to be careful when getting out of the bath, just in case someone had gone exploring next door! The best thing was a location right on top of the South West Coastal path. The views over the sea were lovely, and different each day

We were very fortunate with the weather. We found it quite a good spot for finding beaches around and found Bossiney Cove a beautiful place well worth the climb. The owner was really helpful and friendly when we arrived and whilst we were there.

Very good cottage, very clean and really good value for money.

Rated by Mr Booth reviewed on 25th July 2012

Nothing was too much trouble. The owners were very friendly. The accommodation was very clean, homely and quiet. We love Bossiney and spent our honeymoon in Ocean Cove Caravan Park. The beautiful coastline never ceases to amaze us. Would and have recommended this apartment to friends. We have tried other areas but always return at least once a year, very dog friendly. Ozzie loves The King arthur arms in Tintagel.

Rated by A FlipKey verified reviewer reviewed on 1st December 2011

Wonderfully close to the coastal path. Convenient bus stop right outside the house to take a bus to Boscastle then walk back along the coast. Walking distance of Tintagel the other way. Took us a long time to find the DVD player (it was a sideways slot in the flat screen TV). We didn't see the owners and weren't sure which house they were in. Off road parking was helpful.

Rated by A FlipKey verified reviewer reviewed on 1st December 2011
