Selside 1.6 miles. Longwell House is a beautifully situated two bedroom semi-detached cottage that is both modern yet calm and cosy, like a great cottage should be. Every room in the property has big windows that allow guests the chance to take in the picturesque landscape during their whole stay here. On the ground floor, after you walk in, guests are met with a very large and modern kitchen and dining area that is complete with everything needed to cook big family meals, and do so in front of the electric stove. After a long day exploring the surrounding hills, you can relax in the sitting room on one of the sofas, watch some television and enjoy the wood burning stove. Up the impressive staircase are the two comfortable king-size double bedrooms one with an en-suite bathroom and the other with an en-suite shower room, meaning all guests can stay here in comfort. Outside of the property is an enclosed lawned garden along with a small patio area for relaxing if the weather is nice. Beyond that are rolling green hills that make the countryside a pleasure to gaze out at. The nearest town to the property is Kendal in Cumbria, where guests can find shops, pubs, restaurants and all the other amenities you may need. The nearby town of Kendal (sometimes known as the Gateway to the Lakes), offers a wide variety of pubs and restaurants with the Brewery Arts Centre offering live entertainment and cinema, as well as excellent dining experiences.

My parents booked this beautiful 4 bed cottage for a week in July & my husband & I stayed for a long weekend with them. The cottage is absolutely gorgeous everything is such a high quality & comfortable. Each lovely double room has a fab en-suite with lovely toiletries. The owners Christine & Andrew are extremely friendly & welcoming.
We received a very warm welcome from Christine, Andrew and their son James. Christine kindly showed us around the property and gave us a short history. The facilities are everything and more, even to the themed ribbon that was tied around the bath mats. It is an absolutely fabulous place to stay and ideal for exploring the Southern Lake District.
A beautifully presented fresh cottage with comfortable and gorgeous characterful decor. The hosts are fabulous and Christine's little touches of fresh flowers, Christmas decorations, bottomless fire wood and generous welcome basket make your stay even more special. Everything you could possibly need is provided plus what you may not even know you need. The views from this peacefully located cottage are spectacular. Located with easy reach of Kendal and the tourist areas of the Lakes District and the Yorkshire Dales.
My husband and I loved this holiday cottage. It was beautifully furnished and presented and immaculately clean. The air is so clean and the location peaceful with stunning views. The family who own the farm are very warm and kind. I cannot recommend this cottage enough, it was great.
This is a perfect place for a relaxing holiday in the heart of beautiful Lake District. The location is perfect to enjoy Lake Windermere, Ulswater and waterfalls. Ambleside and Lake Coniston is easy to get around too. The owners Christine and Andrew were very welcoming and friendly to make our break very comfortable and enjoyable, not to mention the quality of the accommodation, it was absolutely magnificent. A perfect break in a beautiful cottage.
