I cannot recommend this cottage enough. So cozy and welcoming. The goats and donkeys were also very welcoming and my 2 children couldn’t wait to feed them apple slices and carrots each morning. Very close to Ashbourne which was such a find - full of lovely shops and cafes.

Have stayed in both dover barn and bluebird cottage, fantastic location for some lovely places to visit, tissington, milldale, dovedale, parwich all very close.both the cottage and the barn are well equipped and very clean, warm and comfortable.the farm is quiet and on a road with little traffic.the owners live on site but unless you need them you would not know they were there.we shall most certainly be staying again.

This was a return visit for us, we adore this property. Bluebird cottage itself is well equipped with everything you need and is well presented throughout. It has a large kitchen diner that leads on to a nice sitting room with TV and DVD player. There is then a door out to the secure walled garden that is shared with thy holiday cottage next door. The garden is huge. Upstairs there is a very big master bedroom, a twin and a nice bath room. The cottage is great and is situated on the yard of the farm. There are goats, horses, donkies, sheep, farm dogs and a cat. Our children adore them all and love feeding and stroking them, my son cried when we left. The owners are the best we have had when staying in cottages. They make you so welcome. They answered the thousands of questions my son had about every aspect on the farm and genuinely enjoy having guests. In summary the cottage is great but the holiday is made by the people and the animals. We will definitely be back next year

We had a fabulous time at Bluebird Cottage. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. The cottage itself is large, well designed and very comfortable. It's a real home from home. The garden is great and very safe for children. Lots to do in the local area that's free or cheap. We will be retuning in future years.

Bluebird Cottage is a thoughtful and stylish stable conversion, done to a high standard. It was tastefully furnished with very comfortable beds. The water was piping hot at all times which was very welcome after walking all day. The cottage was warm & cosy with lovely views over the rolling Peak District. The donkeys kept us amused - they are lovely. We enjoyed EVERYTHING about our stay in Bluebird Cottage.

Had very friendly owners, nothing was too much trouble. A lovely cottage in a good position - it was nice & quiet but central to many attractions. There is always something to do in the area whatever the weather. There are also some lovely country pubs to eat in.

Rated by Mrs Turner reviewed on 2nd August 2015

The location of the cottage was superb, not far off a main road but we felt far from the madding crowd. It was quiet and tranquil but close to a lot of major tourist sites and walking trails. The owners could not have been better, they were helpful but not intrusive. There were lots of walks straight from the door. The cottage was very clean, comfortable and cosy. The donkeys were a delight! We had a brilliant week.

We loved staying here over new year 2015. The cottage is much bigger than the photos suggest and everything is in great condition. The bedrooms were excellent and the kitchen and lounge had everything we needed. The property was nice and warm which was good as there was plenty of snow outside. Excellent location near bakewell and dovedale. We did a great walk around carsington water too.

We had a great time! The location was perfect in between Ashbourne and Bakewell. The property was much bigger than we had imagined and we also much nicer than what we had expected from looking at the photos on the website. It was very cosy and had plenty of space and we were very impressed with the decoration. The kitchen was very well equipped and we couldn't have asked for anything more. We would love to stay again!

The rooms are of a good size and easy to relax in. Beautiful views from all aspects, no traffic noise and easy to access places to visit in the area. The owners are friendly and helpful. Bluebird cottage was fantastic - right in the Peak District on a lovely farm. The children loved watching the tractors in the field and feeding carrots to the donkeys every morning. The pictures don't do the cottage justice - it is really lovely and perfect for exploring all the sights of the Peak District. The owners were helpful and available if needed but essentially left us to it to enjoy - it was bliss!

The cottage is well placed to reach all the attractions of the Peak District. We took our grandsons aged 7 and 5 and they loved feeding the donkeys. The cottage is nice and homely.

The welcome was friendly and the cottage was immaculately clean and immediately comfortable. It's size belied it's ability to easily accommodate 4 adults. The kitchen was well equipped and again pristine in its cleanliness. A lovely quiet position with ample parking and easy access to the peak district. I had forgotten that it was currently only graded 3* and would easily rate it 4*plus. We will definitely be using it again.

Rated by Mr Coppack reviewed on 12th April 2014

We stayed here for a week with our two children (5 and 8 years) at the end of July 2011. The cottage (attached to the owner's farmhouse) was well presented and had everything we needed (in the kitchen too). The location was very peaceful and beautiful. The owners were very friendly and helpful; not at all overbearing and were happy for our children to feed fruit and veg to their two donkeys and two cows in the field opposite. We shall book with them again.

Rated by Mrs Moores reviewed on 12th November 2012

Very cosy and well equipped accommodation in beautiful setting.

Rated by Mrs Doherty reviewed on 3rd November 2012

We enjoyed the location, convenient for exploring the region - surrounded by fields but, being joined to the owner's farmhouse, it did not feel isolated. The cottage faced a concrete yard, field and barns (rustic - not chocolate box so could do with 'softening' a bit for holiday purposes - grassy garden behind (didn't use this so don't know if it would have suited families). The cottage was charming and larger than expected. We took advantage of a slight discount but on arrival realised it was probably given as the adjacent barn was being converted into a cottage - it would not have deterred us but would have appreciated knowing that in advance. As we were using the cottage as a base for exploring the region it didn't inconvenience us but may have done if we were planning just a quiet retreat. We would be happy to go back again.

Rated by Miss Bussell reviewed on 28th August 2012

We booked for a weekend in Alton Towers for a friend's 30th and the icing on the cake was this gorgeous (not so) little cottage. It has lovely size rooms but is very cosy and warm and very clean. The owners were very helpful and left some essentials ready for us for when we arrived. The donkeys were an added bonus and we enjoyed feeding them. The perfect little place to go 'home' to after a day out or to relax in if you fancy a chilled day. (Just for reference there is no iron or ironing board.)

. Excellent service ...extra supplies were provided when needed on first night. . Delightful old cottage, well modernised with all mod cons (though I would have liked a washing machine) . Wonderful country walks direct from house, plus immediate access to one of England's finest rural regions. eg. Minninglow Hill. . We loved the pet donkeys; Parwich village (close by)is one of the prettiest we've seen, with a lovely family run pub (housing the village store). Great food. . Regular bus (Ashbourne - Buxton) is 1/2 mile away which we availed ouselves of when without our car for two days. . Highly recommended.
