Reviews

We had a fabulous week in the apartment, which is beautifully kept and a real home from home. The location is perfect, with the views of the mountains and bay from inside the apartment and on the sun trap balcony. It’s a 5 minute walk into town, and central for drives around the Beara Peninsula, and the Ring Of Kerry to view the Skelligs. Derreen Gardens on the Beara Peninsular are well worth a visit, and Garinish Island, reached by ferry from Glengarriff was a great day out. Kenmare is a lovely town, with such a great choice of top quality food and drink that we never ate in the same place twice during the week, even though any of the places we went to were well worth a return visit. Special thanks to Kay and John for the “welcome pack” of essentials and a couple of luxuries, for all the information on the apartment and areas to visit, and in general for the week in such a luxurious, well kept and well located apartment. We’ve had a great week and it has flown by, doing something different every day.

This was our second stay in this really lovely apartment. When we were there last year, we thought it was pretty special but this year, with the wonderful new shower ensuite to the main bedroom, it is just terrific. Even better than home from home! Again, we had a warm welcome from Kay and John who are great hosts and deservedly proud of their apartment. We were blessed with a bit of of an Irish heatwave for most of the week so made the most of the balcony with its wonderful view of the little bay and the mountains beyond. This apartment is ideally situated in Kenmare, close to all the amenities on offer but away from any noise. Loved it all so much that we are already planning our next visit.

We arrived in Kenmare very tired after a long week of travelling around Ireland visiting family and friends. However, the welcome we received from Kay and John was so warm we revived very quickly. Kay and John spent some time showing us around their lovely apartment and explained how everything worked; and also the very welcome gifts of wine, biscuits etc There is nothing I can think of that you would need that is not already provided and the bed in the main (ensuite) bedroom is so comfortable. Plenty of wardrobe space and in both bedrooms. There are books and DVDs should the weather turn bad and of course, a TV. There is also a radio. I think the best thing that I can same about Kay and John's apartment in Bell Heights is that I would live there in the morning given half a chance! Many thanks to this lovely couple for providing such a great service and sharing their 'little piece of Heaven'..

We were greeted with a warm Irish welcome by the owner who explained everything about the apartment. There was Milk tea coffee and biscuits and a bottle of wine left for us for the start of our stay in Kenmare. The apartment was well equipped and very clean with everything we needed for our stay. The town was only five minutes walk away with local shops and pubs to wander round. Who needs WIFI when you have the beauty of Kenmare and the surrounding countryside. A big thank you to the owners John and Kay. (Five Stars)

This apartment was excellent. It was situated in a perfect area of Kenmare. Everything in the apartment was there for us. There was a warm welcome by the owner and everything about the apartment was explained to us fully. The property was well equipped. We had a fantastic holiday and will return again and would highly recommend it.

In a great location, a 5 minute walk from the town centre. It also has a lovely park and pier both 5 minutes walk away. Had a great balcony to enjoy the view and read your book in the sunshine. A very comfortable and well laid out apartment. We have already recommended this to our friends, and we hope to return.

This is a most comfortable apartment in a nice complex. The views are fantastic and we hope to rebook soon for another break. The owner was there when we arrived and made us feel most welcome.

It was in a good position on the edge of Kenmare with easy access to the town. It was very comfortable and cosy with a kitchen area which was very well laid out so that 2 or 3 people could work together. The log fire was very welcoming. There was a good amount of fridge and freezer space. The property was light with good views and a patio. We would certainly use this property again.

The apartment was excellent and very well equipped. The surrounding area was stunning, with the town only 5 a minute walk with shops, restaurants and pubs.

The apartment is on the first floor with a balcony that has a mountain view and gets the sun most of the day - and yes, the sun shone quite a lot of the time we were there! The accommodation had everything we needed and we were made to feel at home by the owners, who met us when we arrived. We were tired after a long drive so a couple of friendly faces, a carton of milk with tea bags and bottle of wine were just what we needed. Kenmare is a bustling and lively little town with food and drink to suit most tastes and pockets (don't underestimate how early you need to book a table if you want a 'posh' meal), a couple of supermarkets , free wifi in a couple of cafes and pubs and commuter-bike-style cycle hire. But the best thing for us is it's location, at the base of the Beara and Iveragh peninsulas, with their mountains, lakes, Atlantic coasts, coves, beaches and great cycling & walking areas.

Very comfortable and clean property. Beautiful view. This apartment also caught a lot of the sun on the balcony.

We enjoyed our stay at 4 Bell heights very much. The holiday let was ideal; good parking, enjoyed the balcony. Very good accommodation; comfortably and very well furnished. 2 bedrooms, excellent lounge and kitchen. It was 5 minutes out of the town centre and near the estuary harbour. Well located. Kenmare is a good base for a holiday. Ring of Kerry, Bearra, Glengariff, Mucross House & Lakes, Mountains and coastal walks. Was good of Sykes to arrange the car ferry to Ireland from Holyhead as part of the package. No complaints at all. Can recommend it.

The welcome by the owners was brilliant and set us off in the right direction for the remainder of our holiday. A brilliant flat in a truly beautiful town. We loved Kenmare.

It was a very comfortable property with good outlook and good parking. It was well positioned for walking into the town.

There was a warm welcome from the owner which was nice after a long journey. It was comfortable and there was a lovely south facing balcony with fantastic views of mountains and water. It was a 5 minute walk into the main street where there were many restaurants and shops. For such a small town there was a large choice of evening entertainment. There were many local walks. It was ideally situated for sight seeing to The Ring of Kerry and the Beara Peninsula and many other places.

What a fantastic apartment! I know the weather makes a lot of difference but the view from the balcony was as good as anywhere I've been in the world. Everyone in the town was friendly and made our stay so much the better. We will be back

The property was a quick stroll to the town area of Kenmare. It was well fitted out and extremely homely and comfortable.

The apartment was comfortable, nicely furnished, and well equipped. It was a pleasant, short walk to the town of Kenmare. The owner was very kind and made it clear that we should call her if we needed anything, including driving/directions advice to local points of interest. The neighbors were friendly and the parking was very convenient..we never worried about leaving our rented car overnight or for the day. This apartment was a delight to live in and, in short, was an excellent value. We are americans and this was our first visit to Ireland, but we felt that we belonged there.

The open and bright floor plan. Walking distance to the very charming town of Kenmare. The overall convenience of living in a real home, almost as if we were Irish! The proximity to the various peninsulas was outstanding for sightseeing.

The owners were away, but there were clear instuctions and arrangements in place. The apartment was clean and spacious, and warmly furnished as opposed to feeling cold and clinical or shabby, which has been in our previous experiences. The apartment was very well equipped and the only reason it didn't have 5 stars, was because of lack of Wi Fi. However, the visitors book was full of useful tips. The location was perfect for us, quiet, overlooking Kenmare Lake, but a short walk away from lively bars, restaurents, quirky shops, and the other attractions the town has. My husband and I were staying with our teenage daughter, and there was plenty for us to do, wth our different interests, and it was great to have 2 bathrooms! All in all, it ranked as one of our top 5 holidays.

One of the nicest properties we've stayed in. Ideal location, quiet but close to entertainment, and central to the 3 Peninsulas.

It was perfect. The apartment was a dream - the owners so helpful and small touches like a bottle of wine, milk and basics were waiting for us. The standard of accommodation was superb. The views from our windows wonderful. Added joy was non-stop sunshine and some marvellous outings in the Ring - even a swim in the Atlantic! Your service was 100% thank you. All your staff were professional and most helpful. In all a great experience we intend to repeat! Thanks to all at Hogans.

Bell Heights is in the town of Kenmare yet has views of Kenmare Bay and the Caha Mountains of the Beara peninsula. The apartment was very comfortable, the owners were helpful and parking was right by the door. Kenmare is our favorite town in Ireland and the Beara is beautiful. We would rent this unit again.
