Reviews

Disappointing stay in this converted barn that could have been so much better with some easy adjustments. Firstly there was a lack of essential items to use which resulted in us having to go and buy quite a few items. For example there was not any soap to use in either bathroom, or essential items for the kitchen such as oil, salt and pepper (apart from a few very old looking sachets normally found in cafe's) or dishwasher tablets. These basic items would have made a big difference as would a simple welcome basket containing tea, coffee, biscuits and eggs for example. The barn in general is very rustic which has a certain charm about it but a lot of things need updating. There was only one very old tea towel to use that had holes in it, the curtains in the lounge had what looked like chocolate stains on them and were frayed at the bottom. The upstairs bathroom door didn't close very well unless you forced it but all it really needed was a bit of wood shaved off it! There was also mould in both bathrooms and on the kitchen blind. On the plus side, the hot tub outside was lovely and there are some great views of the stars to be had on a clear night. Plus it is a very quiet peaceful location and the owners were friendly and helpful. Overall a rustic barn conversion in a quiet location that needs some attention to detail to make it better.

What a great property! The converted barn has a style all its own, each room is unique. The family that run the farm are really helpful and friendly, as are the animals.

The owners were really friendly and accommodating, and the setting was really peaceful and relaxing. It was really central to lots of places in the surrounding area. A great place to stay. We definitely intend to return again with my grandchildren as it would be a great place for children.

Peaceful, quiet location. Very friendly welcome, the owners were most helpful. Milk and eggs supplied to start off on arrival. Excellent heating, ecologically very good with solar panels and biomass boiler, very self-sufficient.

The family were lovely and friendly. It was a great place for children and a beautiful setting!

The owners are so lovely and made our holiday very special, they are extremely helpful and friendly! A beautiful house in a lovely setting with pretty views, we have all had a lovely week here and relaxing in the hot tub! Definitely recommend this property to all!

The cottage was in a lovely rural setting, but still within easy reach of shops, nearby towns and beaches. The owners were very helpful and made us all feel welcome! We really enjoyed our stay.

Rated by Miss Winship reviewed on 22nd June 2014

The accommodation was very secluded and the location was great for accessing other areas and amenities which were within easy travelling distance. Lots of places to visit for both adults and children whatever the weather - and beautiful beaches at Tenby. The owners could not have been more helpful and friendly and so were the animals - and the hot tub was a bonus. Surrounded by a vast wooded area and as a working farm the animals were a great attraction to my granddaughter. Lovely place to start her appreciating nature. As a family we would certainly use this accommodation again.

We had a fantastic break here over Christmas. The properly is fabulous and had everything we needed. The hot tub was an awesome addition and was well used over the week. The owners were brilliant and could not do enough for us. Location is remote but easy to reach shops, nearby towns, pubs and beaches. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Wonderful relaxing break in lovely surroundings.

We had a lovely time. The property was very well maintained, equipped, and tastefully styled. The land it sits on is totally idyllic, with walks on its doorstep. Perfect hideaway, or bass for day trips in the area. Made all the better by friendly and helpful owners. Will return if we can.

Y Bwthyn is a lovely rural retreat with great views over the Pembrokeshire countryside, there is a wonderful hot tub and lots of space on the farm to mooch about and relax. Having said that, it's also in a great location for exploring Pembrokeshire, with Tenby and many other beautiful beaches not too far away. The owners if the property were very friendly but not intrusive and the property catered very well for our needs with a young baby.

Rated by Mrs Hancock reviewed on 17th July 2013

The cottage, location and owners were all amazing. Located in a stunningly scenic part of Pembrokeshire off the beaten track, with beautiful walking and running routes. The kids fell in love with their little part of Wales as did we. We'll definitely be back. If you choose this cottage, pay the extra for the hot tub - the view on a clear nights sky is worth the £80 alone.

Lovely location and hosts were friendly and very helpful.

Rated by Mr Cole reviewed on 26th August 2012

Outstanding property in a perfect, quiet location. Hot tub was a great bonus as were the animals (the chickens were a regular guest). Really friendly and approachable owners who are always available if you need them but don't impose.

A wonderful cottage in a truly lovely setting.

Rated by Miss Mulvihill reviewed on 25th July 2012

Y Bwthyn is an absolutely wonderful stone barn conversion which was warm and comfortable in the cold February weather. Added to this the helpful and friendly advice from the owners made our stay delightful. The cottage is perfectly positioned from which to explore south and west Pembrokeshire. And the hot tub! Wow!! If you've never done one - this is the one!!

Rated by Mr Salway reviewed on 19th February 2012

We loved the location, it was really close to all the activities we wanted to do. The hot tub was great and it made the weekend really special. The cottage was clean and very well presented with new towels, fresh bedding and clean kitchen utensils. We will be back!

A good space, nice blend of modern and old. Really nice owners, very friendly and helpful.

Rated by Mrs Fowkes reviewed on 14th September 2011

The owners were very friendly and it was wonderful for our kids to meet their children, play together and feed the chickens. The barn conversion was clearly a labour of love. It was a good modern barn conversion and sited perfectly for us to explore Pembrokeshire.

Rated by Mr Clark reviewed on 27th August 2011

The owners were very hospitable and friendly. The cottage was very nice and the quiet was very relaxing as was the hot tub. This was a perfect hide away for a quiet relaxing week.

Everything was absolutely perfect. The location, the cottage itself - the owners were wonderful! Could not have asked for a better holiday. Absolutely flawless!

Rated by Dr Murphy reviewed on 12th October 2010

Lovely setting. Spacious, well equipped cottage - everything you could want for a perfect holiday!

Rated by Mrs Blandford reviewed on 4th October 2010

The property was lovely, the owners very friendly and helpful. Being able to sit in the hot tub and see horses, chickens and views was fabulous. So peaceful being away from it all, but not far to drive to any of the beaches on the South or West coasts. We would definitely recommend it and will probably be back!

Rated by Mrs Van Tromp reviewed on 30th August 2010
