Reviews

Myself and J thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We were welcomed by a wonderfully helpful lady on reception and even though we had arrived a little early, check in was fast and painless. The park is very well managed, everywhere was clean and tidy and the absence of children means it's very quiet. It is quite close to the A49 and a railway line, but we didn't find it intrusive. There's always the ducks to distract you. I paid the housekeeping deposit by card, which was refunded a couple days after we got back. No hassles at all and its quite normal for holiday lets to ask for some sort of deposit like this. Mobile reception in the lodge was intermittent, but the wifi in the reception area worked without issue. We both agreed that limiting the digital world to a couple of cups of coffee in the reception area, added to the overall relaxation of the break. I agree with the previous reviewer's recommendations, bring big fluffy towels for the hot tub, bin liners and kitchen roll. I also agree that some hooks on the back of the bathroom and bedroom doors would useful. All in all a fabulous break and we'll be returning next year. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending Oak Lodge.

Just spending our last night here at oak lodge 2. Absolutely loved every minute of our stay. Only a couple of VERY minor faults. Recliner chair broke. 1 cup chipped spiders in lodge and a couple of jets not working in hot tub ( we did not check before signing in on arrival). But these were nothing to make complaints about. The grounds are magnificent. Ground staff work extremely hard. Didn't use restaurant swimming pool or coffee shop so can not comment. We are close to a road (as read in other reviews) but the traffic noise didn't bother us at all. The ducks and helicopters were louder lol. All staff we met were very friendly. The little touches on arrival were very much appreciated I.e. Wine. Tea biscuits and milk. Not forgetting the fresh flowers. Our dog Maya (husky) loved the walks and seeing the ducks every morning. (Which are friendly and came to us each morning for breakfast). Will definitely be returning. Going to look into next year. All in all I would highly recommend beaconfield holiday park to anyone who likes fishing walks and the countryside. Well worth the 5 stars awarded. Look forward to seeing you next year

The site is lovely and peaceful and a beautiful setting and staff very helpful. The lodges are lovely, very warm and comfortable and heating is easily adjusted. They really are luxury lodges and beautifully appointed. Having a hot tub was a real luxury bonus! The onsite restaurant is great and the food excellent. The local village is in walking distance (quite a long walk!) and the pub does great food and the staff are very friendly. Shrewsbury is a short drive and a really lovely city.

My husband and I had the most peaceful four days relaxing in the Oak Lodge. SETTING: A lovely quiet location in beautiful surroundings. There is road noise but the birds chirping in the trees were louder! The most hectic thing you'll see is someone catching a fish or the grass being cut. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of a busy life then this site is perfect. It is two miles from the site to the main road, so be prepared to drive if you want to go out and about. OAK LODGE brilliant well kept lodge, modern, clean and very spacious. Well stocked with pots and pans etc. my only niggle is there were no hooks on the back of doors and I would have liked the toilet roll to be on the wall. In the shower there was no where to put shampoo etc. it's only a small niggle. The hot tub is fantastic and quite private. Lovely view overlooking the fishing pond from the front of the lodge. FACILITIES ON SITE free wifi was available around the reception area, which was a two minute walk away. My phone worked in the lodge but was very slow. We didn't use the swimming pool or the coffee shop but it looked fine. Restaurant was not open during our stay. RULES We had read other reviews and saw a long list of rules. You can pay the housekeeping deposit by card and we were told the card would be refunded. If you pay by cash they will send you a cheque. Disposable slippers are provided we just walked about in our socks in the lodge. They ask you to empty the bins and strip the bed and leave the place as you found it which was no hardship. The reception telephoned us at home two days before we left which I thought was a nice touch. Staff were very friendly and helpful. TIPS TO MAKE YOUR STAY EVEN MORE PERFECT Bring extra large towels for when you get out of the hot tub, their towels are soon used up. Bring bin liners, tea towels and paper towels. All in all one of the best get away holidays I've ever had. Child free site which makes for a peaceful quiet holiday. Enjoy!
