Reviews

Just had a short break at Routster Cottage with friends to swim in the local waterfalls and lakes. There are so many places to visit all within an hour. We loved the cottage and enjoyed star gazing under a full moon on the terrace. Fabulous cottage, with everything you could possible need.

This is our 3rd stay at Routsters and cannot fault it in anyway. Everything is spotlessly clean, bedding and towels smells of fabric conditioner. A well equipped cottage. Great views from all windows and Ray & Vanessa are perfect hosts and nothing is to much trouble. We saw a recent review regarding an unhappy customer who said they had to reverse a mile up the road, can we just say the road has many passing places and you can usually look ahead and wait for any traffic but you barely see another vehicle and this is in the week. Keep up the good work

Beautiful setting but close enough to small town of Settle which is an interesting place to visit, the railway station is beautifiully kept and maintained by volunteers and well worth a visit. Within easy reach of lots of interesting places to visit.

Liked the fact that this beautiful cottage was so welcoming, warm and ideal for star gazing. Have nothing negative to say. It was a wonderful place to have celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary.

Rated by Mr Pearce reviewed on 20th March 2016

This cottage is up there with the best of them, if not the best we have stayed in. The property was beautifully furnished, extremely clean, and in an amazing location with stunning views. Everything you could possibly need had been thought of and provided. We had a wonderful time from start to finish and will be returning very soon.

We had a fantastic short weekend at the beginning of December to celebrate my husbands birthday. The cottage was fairly easy to find and we were welcomed with milk, biscuits and a bottle of wine. The cottage is clean and modern with everything - and more - that you could hope for. It was a particularly dreadful weekend weather wise but was so romantic and cosy listening to the wind howling and the rain lashing down whilst relaxing in front of the wood burner. We had planned to eat out on the Saturday but unfortunately couldn't get out of the farm due to the road having flooded but Vanessa and Ray were extremely kind in sharing some food supplies with us. We would definately like to return in the summer and explore some of the beautiful countryside.

An amazing cottage with stunning views. It was immaculately clean and with all the home comforts you could ask for, and more. Really loved snuggling up in front of the wood burner while it was blowing a gale outside. A truly fantastic weekend.

First class property, everything you could possibly want in a holiday cottage was there. The Cottage is spacious and the décor immaculate. The Cottage has beautiful views of the countryside and is ideally situated for visiting The Dales, Lake District and York. Would highly recommend.

This is the BEST self catering premises that we have stayed in. The owners have created a home from home in this cottage in that it embodies what you would expect in your own home. It was warm and well furnished with the kitchen containing everything that you require including a great TV and fantastic internet too.

Rated by Mr Goddard reviewed on 3rd June 2015

This cottage was excellent, we could not fault the place at all. It was lovely and warm all the time, and everything was at hand, very well equipped. The TV was working in very good order, the oven was spotless, the views outside were lovely and everything was just perfect. This property was well worth the money. We would definitely go back again. I might also like to add we had a very warm welcome from the owners.

Glorious views, very quiet and peaceful. The Cottage had been really thoughtfully equipped, with good solid furniture - no skimping because it was a holiday home. The beds were comfortable and the heating was excellent. We liked the fact that room had been left in the kitchen cupboards for us to store our own provisions; something that is often forgotten. The bathroom could operate as a wet-room (as well as having a jacuzzi bath) and a shower stool was made available. There were also sturdy rails to help disabled visitors.

Rated by Mrs Brydon reviewed on 29th September 2014

This Cottage was over and above any cottage we have stayed in previously. Everything was catered for and the hosts were very friendly. The setting was idyllic, and the peace & quiet was superb.

My husband and I have just spent a week here and I can honestly say the cottage was absolutely fantastic we couldn t fault it on anything. It was spotlessly clean and was equipped with everything you could want to make your stay enjoyable. I don t think we have ever stayed in such a fantastic cottage, the views from any window were just beautiful. It was just the place to spend a lovely peaceful relaxing holiday. Both the owners were on hand should you have any queries and were both very helpful. Highly recommend this holiday cottage.

The property has very high quality fittings, and the bathroom is particularly well appointed. The owners are charming and attentive, without being intrusive. The cottage is off the beaten track, and is relaxing and peaceful. Nearby Settle provides for most needs and is a delightful Market Town. A wonderful experience.

Rated by Mr Gilbert reviewed on 17th November 2013

In the absence of my wife, Halinka Connelly, I myself Robert Connelly having occupied the cottage at the same time will write the following review. With the exception of a T.V. that was most difficult to operate (a must with small children) there is nothing a feel warrants any negative comment, indeed, inside and out the cottage had all anyone would require. The views were breath taking, with beautiful walks right outside the door. Even with our two small grandchildren there was much to do. This review could go on and on but I feel that I can sum it all up by simply saying my wife and I will go back one day and suggest that if anyone with a small family (2 children) or even 2 pair of adults you will love this place in every way...said with confidence. Regards Rob Connelly.

Cottage is stunning with amazing views. It was so warm with the underfloor heating that we hardly needed the log burner. There is everything you could think of needing in the kitchen. Settle is only a few miles away and is a lovely town for cups of tea and evening meals. It is a great base for a walking holiday too.

Rated by Mrs Pendlebury reviewed on 13th February 2013

Situated on a hill above Settle, the views were brilliant. The cottage was absolutely spotless and really well appointed. The owners were on hand if needed and nowhere to be seen if not. A really nice friendly welcome, and nothing was too much trouble. It was obvious that they wanted you to have the best possible time.

Our hosts were excellent! They provided everything we needed and were most helpful, yet not intruding. The location seems remote yet is not far from Settle and we had wonderful walks all around the countryside. The cottage was beautiful and had everything we needed. Our friends and neighbours here in Canada were most impressed with our pictures and reports of this beautiful cottage!

The cottage is of a very high standard, warm, comfortable and very well equipped. We enjoyed the welcome from the very pleasant and helpful owners.

Rated by Ms Easton reviewed on 19th February 2012

The welcome, location and excellently planned and beautifully decorated cottage. The weather was exceptionally warm and wet during our stay so we had little reason to enjoy the log fire and the warmth from the under floor heating. It would be an even more wonderful place in crisp cold weather. The boiler room was great for drying wet clothes and boots and the owners welcomed further suggestions for improvement. it was a great choice for a family Christmas.

Rated by Mrs Verney reviewed on 3rd January 2012

The cottage was as close to perfect as you could get. Extremely well furnished and equipped, and exceptionally clean. The owners were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Just about every little detail had been thought through to make our stay as comfortable as possible.
