A beautiful cottage set in a fantastic location. We were made very welcome by the owners. The accommodation was finished to an excellent standard with all modern conveniences. The area was spectacular and the setting was straight off a chocolate box. This was a great base for exploring the jewel that is North Yorkshire. Would recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to visit and make the most of this area.

A delightful and well furnished cottage, in beautiful and peaceful surroundings. The couple who own the cottage live next door, and were always welcoming and helpful. This is the best holiday cottage we have stayed in. Really recommended and we will be back.

Brook Cottage was full of character in a great central location for lots of things to do.

We had such a fabulous time at Brook Cottage. The cottage is in a lovely quiet location and the owner couldn't have been more welcoming and kind. It is very well equipped, they really have thought of everything and the beds were so comfortable! Our little boy absolutely loved it here and didn't want to come home, and we loved having the wood-burning stove in the lounge. All in all a lovely place to spend the new year and we hope to return soon.

We had a fantastic holiday! Brook Cottage was absolutely perfect for our family of 2 adults and 2 older children. It was incredibly cosy, utterly charming and in a beautiful location. I would not hesitate to recommend.

An exceptionally equipped and furnished holiday cottage. It was spotlessly clean with very helpful hosts. Probably the best we have ever stayed in.

A beautiful cottage in a very peaceful location, but with easy access to York and major attractions. The owners are very helpful, friendly and always on hand if needed but not obtrusive. Can highly recommend!

Rated by Mr Barrs reviewed on 13th June 2015

Liked the warm welcome and the overall peacefulness of the cottage and area. So relaxing, yet so much to do within the extended area. The brochure doesn't do Brook Cottage justice, you have to be there.

Rated by Mr Cuttell reviewed on 30th May 2015

The owners were very welcoming, Stearsby is a wonderful quiet rural location to relax and unwind. The cottage is within easy reach by car of many of the tourist attractions and the Park and Ride for York city. Thoroughly recommended.

A great wee cottage which was warm and welcoming. Lovely décor with well a equipped kitchen. Ideally located for walking and an easy drive to York. The owners were attentive but not intrusive. The wood burner made it even more special, ideal for a romantic getaway.

Liked everything, the cottage and its location. Our hosts were a wealth of local information. The cottage itself was spotlessly clean and we made good use of the log burner in evenings. Ideally situated for York, Harrogate and loads of walks and attractions. Thanks to the owners for a lovely week.

Thoroughly enjoyed our time at Brook Cottage. Delightful accommodation in a quiet, rural area. The owners live nearby and were on hand to help with directions or recommendations. Couldn't fault this holiday home - only that we couldn't stay longer !!

Fantastic accommodation in a beautiful rural setting. Perfect for escaping the bustle of life. The owners were very welcoming and had a wealth of knowledge on the area for things to see and do. The property was really clean, comfortable and well equipped. We had an amazing holiday.

Brilliant weeks holiday made perfect by the owners who were very friendly, helpful and sincere. The cottage was very comfortable, tastefully decorated and in a superb location. Thanks again, hope to come back soon.

The cottage matched the description and the pictures, and was a delightful and comfortable place to stay. It is well situated for sightseeing of different kinds; abbeys, stately homes, as well as being in wonderful scenic countryside, and near to villages for provisions and eating out.

Rated by Mrs Burnett reviewed on 20th July 2014

The owners made us feel so welcome, we quite simply loved everything but the attention to detail was by far the most impressive even down to finding 2 bags of ice in the freezer! All through the week our lovely hosts kept doing little things for us that were so unexpected and on our last night the owner asked if we were not barbecuing again could he clean the barbecue? I was fully prepared to clean it myself and put it all away for the next people but he did it instead! What else can I say? My Mum who was 89 said that she wished she had told them that if she is still here next year we will be booking!

Rated by Mrs Ramsdale reviewed on 7th July 2014

On arrival, you instantly know that the owners are a welcoming couple. They are available if needed, but that won't be too often as everything has been thought about very well. The accommodation is beautiful and in idyllic surroundings. Their recommendation for a meal at the Fairfax Arms at Gilling East was well founded and we enjoyed a meal at the White Bear in Stillington. Castle Howard is not too far away, Easingwold is a nice visit and York is certainly worth a day or two. Overall, highly recommended for a relaxing, eating out, country walking break or holiday.

On our arrival the owners were there to greet us and show us around the cottage. We have rated the cottage excellent in all areas - good size bedrooms, large bathroom and the living area was well furnished and very cosy with the log burner. Overall, a high standard cottage in a very good location that we would love to revisit.
