The current owners have converted the old byre (cow shed) into this outstanding, single-storey eco-friendy home. It includes an inflatable outdoor hot tub which is available in the spring and summer months and is perfect for a romantic holiday, or just for those wishing to get away from it all and relax. Boasting a contemporary design, the open plan living features luxurious underfloor heating, powered by a ground source heating system and solar panels. It also features exposed ceiling beams and little extra touches that all go together to provide a memorable holiday. The spacious open plan sleeping/living area is bright and airy thanks to a large picture window, while a super king-size bed and a cosy sitting area with a gas-fired stove provide a lovely, romantic space for unwinding. The spacious kitchen/diner is connected through a large archway and leads to a lovely snug area, with ramped access and where large patio doors overlook the rear courtyard. Stylish throughout, with every care being taken by the owners to provide a truly outstanding holiday home, there is also a fabulous wet room with a freestanding bath. Outside, a spacious patio provides the backdrop for a luxurious hot tub, where guests can sit and enjoy a well-earned soak and reminisce about the day’s adventures. The owners, who live just across the lane in the farmhouse, have a range of animals on the adjoining pasture land, including horses, pigs and Dexter cows. There's also a chicken coop located by the holiday cottage, so that guests can help themselves to fresh eggs! We stayed here in April, so a little delayed on the review, but couldn't not write something. This cottage really is fabulous and the hot tube is a nice touch. The surrounding areas are very peaceful, perfect for a romantic weekend away. It's also about an hour away from the Lake District. The kitchen and bathroom are designed to a very high spec and underfloor heating and fire are a lovely touch. The owner is pleasant and accommodating and the fresh eggs each morning are great. We will definitely be visiting again!

This was our first visit to Deekswood but certainly won't be our last. The cottage was beautifully decorated and finished to a very high standard. There was everything you could possibly need for a relaxing weeks stay. It offers peace and tranquility but is within an easy drive of bustling towns and local attractions. We were both really impressed with Deekswood and Dave and Kath were very welcoming and knowledgable hosts. Loved all the little extras and thoughtful touches throughout that made this a real home from home.

What an amazing place, the photos do not do this place justice! We echo the comments previously made regarding to Kath & Dave, great friendly hosts who have created a beautiful home from home for those of us privileged to discover it. We can't wait to come back, absolutely everything was perfect.

On the north coast of the Fylde, with Blackpool ten miles down the road, Deekswood gives easy access to Lancaster, RSPB Leighton Moss, WWT Martin Mere, the Forest of Bowland. We welcomed the freshly-laid eggs, the vast (and very comfortable) bed and especially the hot tub - a great place to lie and watch swallows collecting food for their nestlings. The owners, Kath & Dave, were very friendly and helpful; the cottage is very spacious and had everything we needed. We would happily book this again (it's a Friday-Friday let).

Lovely cottage with a home from home feel, the cottage is set in its own private grounds, loved the wet room and especially liked to sit in the snug on an evening. Dave and Kath are very welcoming and the freshly laid eggs make a fantastic omelette. Would definitely return and hope to do so soon.

As soon as you open the door at Deekswood you immediately feel at home. It is a warm and cosy cottage with everything to make you feel as though you are in your own home. It is very clean and comfortable. The hosts are very welcoming and extremely friendly and helpful. The eggs are delicious. We cannot recommend this cottage highly enough , it is perfect for a couple who like peace and quiet and home comforts. The area is of outstanding beauty with many places to visit within easy reach of the cottage.

This beautiful cottage has been lovingy rebuilt it has everything you need and has been done sympathitically so blends in with it's surroundings. The kitchen and wet room are to die for. The bath and shower are perfect after a long walk but why bother when the hot tub is so inviting. It is perfectly placed for Liverpool Blackpool and the Lakee district. There are many walks on your doorstep and decent pubs. The owners are amazing very helpful with suggestions for walks, pubs and places to eat. The fresh eggs from the chickens just have to be tried. We have not left yet and already looking at booking for next year. There is a flight school down the road so if you fancy a tandum paracute jump you can book that too. If you are looking for somewhere to relax or walk or cycle this is the place to be.

This cottage is in an excellent location for exploring Lancashire and visiting the Lake District. The converted barn cottage itself is furnished and equipped to an excellent standard and the hot tub at the rear of the cottage is an added bonus for relaxing after a days touring. The owners who live across the lane are charming friendly hosts who are passionate about their business and are always ready to help. Thanks guys.
