Location Details

The town of Manorhamilton lies in the north of County Leitrim, in the centre of the North Leitrim Glens, a region which is renowned for its hill walking. There is a wide choice of pubs and eateries in the town, and the area as a whole is known for its strong love of live Irish music, with many such performances taking place throughout the year. Manorhamilton Castle, now a ruin, has been transformed into an interesting visitor attraction, while other fascinating places to visit include the Leitrim Sculpture Centre and the Famine Graveyard. Visit Glencar Waterfall or take a scenic drive round the Erne Waterway. Explore the towns and villages of the area including Rosses Point, Strandhill and Bundoran and experience several golf courses, horse riding stables and lovely beaches.

The West of Ireland conjures up many images; thatched, whitewashed cottages, a flock of sheep on a narrow road, an emerald green field with a stone wall, or the Atlantic waves crashing into towering cliffs and rocky shores.

Reviews

We really enjoyed our stay at Rambler's Rest. It was the perfect base to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary in peace and quiet, away from everyone who thought we should have a massive party etc. It is a lovely part of the country. Just like the Ireland we remember 50 years ago. I loved the way trees are let grow naturally, not trimmed to with-in an inch of their lives. Completely au-naturelle. The lady who owned the house was lovely. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and that goes for our wee dog Cody. It made such a difference been able to take him with us. Will definitely book again. Real value for money. Thank you.

The cottage is in an ideal location if you wanted to get away from it all. It is set in a beautiful part of Ireland with plenty of places to visit within an hour or two's driving
