Reviews

We had a lovely peaceful getaway that is perfect for all types of dogs with a completely enclosed garden and an additional private field/paddock beyond that which is all included in the rental. Jo, the host, is so warm, welcoming and very knowledgable about the area. Fully equipped and well stocked kitchen with Netflix and Amazon prime video accounts to use at your hearts content. Absolutely faultless!

This is our second visit to The Stables, it is absolutely beautiful and has everything you could wish for to make your holiday perfect. We came here to just chill out and we certainly did that, the views across the country side are wonderful and we will miss watching the wildlife. Thank you for making our stay wonderful.

Stables Cottage is one of the best equipped cottages that we have come across. It's in an excellent location, being surrounded by woods, fields and a beautiful paddock area with nearby stream. It has lovely sitting-out areas, with enough outdoor seats for 12 people! Whilst it's very near the owner's house, it is completely on its own with almost no traffic noise or other distractions. From the lounge area we could see only fields and trees, and one visiting fox.Facilities are first class, with everything you might need. The bedrooms and kitchen / diner are a bit on the small side, but the living room is excellent with lovely views on two side through enormous floor to ceiling windows. There is a good barbecue and fire pit outside, but no tools so you should bring your own if you want to sample the outdoor life. We only met the owner - Jo - for a short space of time - due to the current restrictions on contact, but she made sure we were OK and she could be easily contacted if we'd needed any help (we didn't). The televisions come equipped with Netflix and Amazon Prime - which gives plenty of viewing choice, and you can also stream content from your mobile device if you wish. There is also excellent WI-FI. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very well sanitised - even the bedroom pillows are changed and cleaned every week - no need to take your own. We thoroughly recommend this lovely cottage.

This absolutely has to be the best holiday cottage that we have ever stayed in. We visit Shropshire frequently and we have stayed in this area a lot, but this beats everywhere that we have stayed so far. What we loved is that it is on its own and extremely private. The owners live down the road (So not too close, although close enough to come over if we needed them) and there are no neighbours or other holiday cottages directly next door like many places we have stayed in, so there is absolutely no noise from other cars, children or dogs. The setting is just beautiful overlooking fields with cows and forests beyond and It is central for visiting everywhere that Shropshire has to offer. the property is stunning and beautifully decorated. It is extremely well equipped and immaculately clean. The sofas and beds were so incredibly comfortable and the outside area is stunning and the sounds of wildlife just heavenly. The hosts Mike and Jo were fantastic. Nothing was a problem. We will be back on a heartbeat. We just wish that we had found this years ago.

If you need to just get off the ‘grid’ and relax (like we did), this place is perfect. It’s got everything you need and if your unsure Jo & Mike the owners live in the house over the road. The grounds are stunning with lots of wildlife. The accommodation as previous reviews have already stated was excellent, very clean and all in perfect working order. Would highly recommend

Fabulous property, myself, my sister and dog spent a week at The Stables in July. We were very impressed with the accommodation, I would highly recommend it. I have stayed in many properties in the UK and around the world, The Stables are definitely in my top five memorable and rated places. Great peaceful and pet friendly setting. Everything was superb and spotlessly clean, the beds were comfortable, as was the sofa, the kitchen was extremely well equipped with good quality appliances, utensils, crockery etc. Luxurious bath and great separate shower cubicle. Ample outdoor furniture. The owners Jo and Mike were lovely people. We would not hesitate to visit again.

Beautiful conversion, with all Mod Cons, including a wonderful welcome basket of goodies. Lovely peaceful setting, and close enough to get to all Shropshire has to offer. A perfect break for us, and our 2 dogs. The measure of a good place, is to ask yourself, "would you go again?"... Answer, in a heartbeat. Thank you Jo.

This is a great conversion of a stable block to a holiday home. It has all the equipment needed to make your stay relaxing and comfortable, including a dish washer and nice little touches like power sockets with USB chaging ports. It is located in its own field, so plenty of space for kids and canine companions. It is well postioned for exploring all the sights of Northern Shropshire and the towns Shrewsbury, Telford and Newport. This was our second visit...

We have been taking cottage holidays for nearly 20 years and we can honestly say that this is the nicest and best equipped pet friendly cottage we have ever stayed in. The owner has paid a lot of attention to detail and taken every care to make this an enjoyable experience for all age groups and dog owners. We have already recommended this cottage to friends

Absolutely brilliant luxurious accommodation, the best dog friendly accommodation we've ever stayed in! From the large, comfortable, beds, the quality furnishings and finishing touches (like the tassimo coffee machine), the outdoor firepit and seating to the vast enclosed field right on your doorstep - I can't imagine a more perfect or serene place to get away from it all. Whilst charming and quiet the accommodation is also well situated for a number of incredible days out to local historical towns/museums like Ironbridge and also a great many national trust/english heritage sites are all nearby as well as farms and fun days out for children too. Jo and Michael are fantastic hosts who really cant do enough for you and ensure your stay is brilliant - they also have some great recommendations for places to eat nearby that are all dog friendly. It really does tick all the boxes and that is why we are repeat customers and will continue to be so!

Shropshire had so much to offer and lots of places were dog friendly, offering bowls of water and resting places for tired paws! The accommodation was fantastic - so light, airy and clean. Our two aging dogs took ownership of 'their' field and loved the opportunity to take themselves for 'walkies'. Thanks so much to the owners for making our stay relaxing and carefree. We loved it!

Nothing to fault. Modern luxury conversion of small stable block set in huge paddock. Quiet rural location. Easy access to local towns and museums/attractions.

I couldn't believe I hadn't reviewed The Stables after we stayed last summer 2016, we had a fantastic time. We have an older Greyhound and so single level accommodation with some surfaces that stop slipping (ie the sea grass matting) were just perfect for him. However this is our holiday too and it is so refreshing to find high quality accomodation for dog owners. Super relaxing couldn't have wished for anything more. We also had some lovely trips out locally. It was all so great we have booked to go back this June 2017 too, with our now even older greyhound for a lovely relaxing holiday - can't wait!

We like to try get away with our dog a few times a year, and we needed a break! We saw this accommodation online, and what a find! The owners are brilliant, the property is one of the very best we have stayed in, in the UK. Lovely plot of land, and you want for nothing in the accommodation. Even had amazon prime! So wine and films is on the menu. The local walks are brilliant, the just the open plan living style alone was fantastic. Happy to just let the dog wander and play, was really nice. Can't recommend this enough! We will be returning.

We got back from our stay at The Stables last week and I'm already missing it! Jo thought of everything for us, she came to greet us when we arrived with information about the area, there were toys provided for our 11 month old so he was kept well entertained and the accommodation is just gorgeous! There's loads to do in the area if you have little ones, there are some lovely walks and we also went to Hoo Farm and Blists Hill. The fact that The Stables is all on one level is also great in itself with a pre walker! With regards to the dog, our spaniel Rosie was in 7th heaven in the field outside the house so it's a great place for dog owners too. I'm already looking at when we can return, thanks Jo for a lovely few days away!

The Stables is, without doubt, the best cottage we have rented. It has been very tastefully converted into a luxury holiday home and is extremely well equipped. The owners have thought of everything you could possibly need. They are very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area and are more than happy to point you in the right direction, should you need advice. There is a huge field, should you need somewhere for children or dogs to play in safety and plenty of outdoor seating for the adults. The Stables is conveniently situated for taking in all the sights that Shropshire has to offer. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Rated by Sue C reviewed on 12th September 2016

Gorgeous place both inside and out, a lot of time and attention has gone into making sure The Stables has everything you might need to have a wonderful, relaxing, break. Comfortable and luxurious I was over the moon at how the place was decorated and the luxury bedding; finally somewhere that realises dog owners need luxury too! The setting is beautiful and perfect for dog walking, and it is positioned so that there are plenty day trips to be had too to local attractions. Lots of dog friendly suggestions made by the owners that were all very gratefully received. One thing- I'd recommend people wear slippers as their herringbone seagrass carpet in the living room and bedroom quickly made my feet a little sore. But it's the perfect endurance carpet to have for dogs, so that's understandable and some thick socks or slippers would stop that easily for humans! It was technically a mini-honeymoon for us and it certainly was memorable. The fire-pit outside made for some gorgeous evenings, weather permitting! We will be back next year- most certainly.

From the moment we arrived at the stables we felt relaxed, it was such a gorgeous setting, home from home with everything we could possibly need. A great base for a relaxing family holiday, with many things to do. We will definitely be returning next year.

From the moment we arrived at the stables we felt relaxed, such a gorgeous setting, it was home from home with everything we could possibly need. Our two year old was instantly amused by all the toys inside and out of the cottage, and Jo made us feel extremely welcome. A great base for a lovely relaxing family holiday, with lots to do. Also a fantastic butcher in the next village! We will definitely be returning next year

This is a lovely cottage which has been thoughtfully designed with everything you need. It was very clean and we appreciated the welcoming touches. It is in a very peaceful location and has a beautiful outlook. The field at the front is perfect if you have a dog as it is large and secure. The shower is good and all the equipment is high quality. The owners are charming and could not have been more helpful. Thoroughly recommended.

From the moment we first glimpsed the property through the gate we fell in love with this place. It is an oasis of tranquillity. We will be back again and again.

Booked this based on the picture and because they allow dogs. This is the most serene setting we have been in for a long time. On first arrival the reception from the owners was fab. They have gone overboard with hospitality. On entering the property we were wowed. Décor and comfort is superb and the prosecco, chocolates and snacks was the icing on the cake! Will be back again and again........

We chose on the basis that it was convenient for Telford Exhibition Centre and that pets were welcome. Our two Airedale Terriers had the time of their lives! Chasing around the field from first light watching the birds, cows and hundreds of interesting things. Loved playing with the owners two Golden Retrievers. This place is fabulous! Wonderful peaceful location and superb accommodation. The owners have thought of everything and done everything to the highest standard. The owners are charming and fall over themselves to ensure you enjoy your stay, We intend to come back regularly if we can get in!

We have stayed in properties all over the UK and this was by far the best. Immaculately clean, tastefully decorated, private, everything you would need catered for, large plot of land for dog to run around, large fluffy towels. I could go on. Go see for yourself, you will not be disappointed. Cannot wait to go back.

The Stables is absolutely wonderful in all respects. The cottage is award winning and way above any holiday let we have ever seen. The owner is charming and friendly and has thought of everything. We couldn't have asked for more. We are booking again.

The property was absolutely immaculate and the owner had thought of absolutely everything to make the holiday enjoyable. The location was perfect. The owner was extremely welcoming and very informative regarding the local area. They made you feel completely at home and was discreetly on hand if needed. I would thoroughly recommend this property for a quiet relaxing break but equally if you want an active holiday there is plenty plenty to do in the surrounding area.

I stayed at The Stables for a long weekend in April 2016. The property is an immaculate Stable conversion that is tastefully decorated and fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. Jo -the owner - was extremely hospitable and very informative about the local area . She was discreetly on hand if you needed anything. The location is perfect for both a quiet relaxing weekend but with Shrewsbury and Telford nearby there are plenty of sights to see too.

Rated by Sheila A reviewed on 28th April 2016

This is a fantastic place to stay. Jo, our host, could not have done more to make our stay more comfortable. I had my 2 year old daughter with me and Jo organised lots of toys for her to play with inside and out. The Stables have been really tastefully renovated. Really great kitchen, bathroom and lounge with great views out onto the Shropshire countryside. The bedrooms are also very comfortable and are light and airy. It's also a great location from which to explore Shropshire. You're not far from Shrewsbury and Bridgnorth and the handy town of Newport is a short drive away. The outdoor space around the accommodation is also brilliant- plenty of space for little ones to run around safely, away from traffic. I can not recommend it enough. We definitely hope to visit again
