Accommodation Details

One double bedroom. Ground floor bathroom with bath, shower over, basin, WC and bidet. Kitchen. Sitting room with dining area and range.

This is a cosy, one bedroom, terraced cottage, located in the picturesque village of Clun in the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Traditionally-furnished throughout with an old world cast iron range, it really captures the original character of the cottage. Downstairs, there is an open plan living and dining area, with a stunning arched stone fireplace housing the freestanding old-fashioned range, with oven and small fire cradle offering the novelty of the warming glow of a natural fire during the cold months. The separate kitchen enjoys countryside views. Upstairs, there is a comfortably spacious bedroom with a craftsman-fitted pine, overlapped floor and a large thick rug, extending either side of the bed to add extra cosiness. Tuc-Tin garden has a stone patio, which has a combined bench seat and table, ideal for eating outdoors during the warm weather. There is a pleasant, enclosed lawned area for relaxing and sunbathing in, with an arched bench seat at the bottom of the garden to suit the afternoon sun. The 800-year old Clun Castle ruins can be seen from from Tuc-Tin, approximately one hundred yards away, with the hills of the beautiful Shropshire countryside beyond. With two pubs in the village, as well as tea rooms and high quality butchers, there is everything you need on your doorstep. The surrounding towns and villages are all easy to get to and a half-hour ride can take you to Ludlow, Bishops Castle, Church Stretton, Long Mynd, amongst many more idyllic places to visit. Travelling around Shropshire, Hereford and the Welsh countryside offers relatively quiet roads so you can get to your choice of destinations very easily, whilst enjoying the journey through the beautiful green hills and woodlands, whether you are walking, biking or driving. This is a fantastic property for couples to enjoy all year round.

A.E. Houseman's poem, A Shropshire Lad, defined Clun as 'the quietest place under the sun', and with its dramatic ruin of a Norman castle, Saxon church, the bustling river which flows under the 14th Century pack horse bridge, and a country inn, Clun is a rural gem situated in the South Shropshire Hills.

5 nights in February to recharge. As someone said to us in the pub: “Clun wraps it’s arms around you and you don’t want to leave.” Clun has a spa shop, a deli. a fruit and veg shop, a couple of cafes and good pub. What more could you want? It’s nestled in stunning countryside so we put on our walking boots and did some great walks from the cottage. Tuc tin has everything you could need. It’s great if you’ve got a dog . When you discover the sofa reclines after a long walk, it’s perfect! Ludlow is well worth a visit too. Thank you.

What a find! Very clean and comfortable. Truly dog-friendly with internal doors so we could easily prevent our dog going into other rooms while wet or dirty etc. Lovely large enclosed lawned garden with gate to the park at the back. Friendly neighbours. And of course a stunning location. We will return!

Arrived at the cottage to find no one to greet us the keys were left with neighbour who were out with note left with keys on some ladders outside in passage way. when we opened the door wasn't very impressed it was freezing put heating on the bathroom radiator didn't come on the lamp shades were dirty cobwebs behind the doors the fire place hadn't been cleaned out still full of old ash looks as though it hadn't been cleaned for months. the tv was dusty and all smeared extractor fan in bathroom was full of dirt .the garden outside was disgusting too tried to contact owner but signal very poor had to drive another three hours to stay with my brother couldn't have stayed in the cottage . spoke to owner next day wasn't interested spoke to sykes cottages who took the booking they wasn't very helpful so I wouldn't recommend them so I have lost my money.

It was a lovely holiday home for two people. We love the village of Clun and having a great base made the holiday even better. It was walking distance from two good pubs and a small shop that had everything you needed.

Tuc-Tin was just what we needed, such a cosy place. We needed time to rest and Tuc-Tin gave us that. It had everything we wanted, and the town was lovely, such great walks too. Overall we fell in love with the area and Tuc-Tin helped with that.
