Marigold Cottage sits in a superb position for discovering this peaceful little village, and offers a wonderful romantic retreat. Note: As of 5th January 2023, this property will accept one small dog.

This quaint end-terrace cottage sits on the edge of the popular Shropshire town of Clun. Cosy and comfortably furnished, this is the perfect base for couples looking to enjoy a break amongst Shropshire’s peaceful countryside. Set over two floors, you’ll find a large mezzanine-style double bedroom on the landing, leading to the bathroom. The compact well-equipped kitchen looks out to the small courtyard garden, where you can sit and contemplate your activities for the day, and on chilly evenings, you can put your feet up in the welcoming sitting room, beside the woodburner. Just a short stroll away is the heart of this pretty town where you’ll find a pub, shop and café, so after a day exploring the area you can enjoy the village life, take a wander alongside the river and explore the ruins of Clun Castle. Clun is ideally positioned as a base for the Welsh Marches, which incorporate the stunning Shropshire Hills and Offa’s Dyke. Spend the day in one the local towns such as Bishop's Castle, Montgomery, Craven Arms or Ludlow, which are all steeped in history. A charming romantic retreat on the edge of this popular town, perfectly situated to enjoy a myriad of walks and Shropshire’s stunning scenery.

Wood is provided for woodburner (please burn with discretion). Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Roadside parking in front of cottage for cottage residents, the space is generally left free. Neighbours all have own parking spaces at their properties. Secure bike storage. Small courtyard garden with furniture. One small dog welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop and pub 5 mins walk.

Small cottage in lovely location. Open plan lounge/kitchen and double bedroom in roof space but roof light makes it so light and ventilated. Downstairs is open plan lounge and kitchen with small south facing courtyard out back ideal for two dogs. Well equipped. Within a few minutes walk to the river and village centre with couple of cafes and two pubs. Weather was so hot we didn't venture far with dogs but they loved the dip in the river and the ford. Would certainly recommend this cottage for a short break
The cottage was very nice, and Clun is so lovely and peaceful. It was dog heaven. The castle is an amazing place with the river.
We stayed at Marigold Cottage during school holidays and it was blissfully quiet. The cottage is quaint and cosy, and we would return. It was very handy for shops and the pub. Our Labrador really enjoyed the stay as the walks around the castle and village were superb and there were lots of other dog walkers all wanting to stop and chat.
A really lovely place to stay. The cottage was very comfortable and for its size, had very spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. The kitchen was very well-equipped and there was an invitation to use as much wood as needed to keep the wood-burning stove going.
We have not been to this area before and we have had a lovely time. We could not fault the cottage and the courtyard was safe for the dogs. Overall FIRST CLASS.
It was a well appointed cottage with a good size kitchen for a small cottage. Had lovely neighbours.
Great little cottage in a truly beautiful area. The locals were fantastically friendly and the neighbours even more so.
