Reviews

My wife and I stayed at Pail End cottage for three nights in late April. The cottage is delightful, a perfect place for two people to chill out. The accommodation is tastefully furnished and decorated. The kitchen is well equipped and the bedroom has two easy chairs and a table in the window - the perfect place to sit and take in the view overlooking the surrounding countryside. Our hosts were so welcoming and spent time chatting with us. The village of Brassington is both charming and quiet. We went to the Miners Arms pub, just minutes from the cottage and sat in the pub garden while we had our first pub drink since last October. Brassington is a short drive from Matlock Bath and only a few miles from Carsington Water, both of which we visited. I thoroughly recommend a stay at this cottage and we hope to visit it again one day.

We had a weeks holiday here to see the new year in for 2020. What a find! Set in beautiful Brassington, an excellently appointed cosy cottage for two and our dog, Freddie. Pail End was immaculately clean and the welcome snacks were a nice touch. Richard and Kathy were excellent hosts and have a very good knowledge of the area. Beautiful walks withing yards of the property for all abilities. Suggest downloading the OutdoorGPS app and exploring the green dotted lines! A particular highlight was the circular route to Carsington Water, just outstanding. Spent New Years Eve in Ye Olde Gate Inn and was made to feel very welcome by the locals!
