We spent a week in this cottage in December 2016 and will be returning! The cottage is well equipped. The welcome package is excellent with milk, wine and home made Bakewell tarts for us. The surroundings are stunning and we also found a pub that we could walk to! Would definitely recommend! We loved having the wood burner and the cottage is very cosy which was perfect for those winter days and nights. We loved being able to easily travel in and around the Peak District from the cottage and nothing of interest was much more than 30 minutes away. I'm sure that this cottage is as relaxing all year round, but we particularly enjoyed staying here during winter time.

My husband and I found our stay at The Old Chapel delightful and perfect for relaxing whilst visiting nearby places. The cottage had everything we needed making it feel like home from home. The owners, Mary and Stuart, are a very lovely couple, friendly but not intrusive. Home baked pies, flowers, and a bottle of wine in the fridge welcomed us when we arrived. In my opinion these are small details that makes one feel very welcome. We really enjoyed our week there and I was sorry to leave! The views from the cottage are amazing. I loved watching the birds feeding every morning from the living room window. I originate from Northern Spain and this part of England is very similar in so many ways, no wonder I felt at home! Mary has lots of useful information regarding walks and interesting places to visit. There are National Trust houses nearby with amazing walks. If the weather is cold and rubbish, light the fire in the lovely stove and curl up with a book!! honestly don't miss the opportunity to visit the chapel if you can, it is perfect for a couple.

The accommodation was very nice, in a great, quiet location, and the owners could not be more friendly and helpful. There is a bird feeding station outside the property so we got to see lots of different birds feeding close by.

The cottage was a perfect week long break away from the stresses of life. Our hosts were so friendly and the countryside and views around the property were utterly breathtaking and perfect for a few challenging rides on our bikes. We loved it so much we're thinking of making it a yearly retreat.

The Old Chapel is a fantastic getaway in a great location to explore the Peak District. The accommodation is excellent with everything you could possibly need. The kitchen is brilliant, the sitting area is cosy and has a very good log burner. The chapel is full of character and the spiral staircase up to the bedroom/ensuite is great. Outside is a brilliant patio with stunning views over the countryside. We had a fantastic welcome fromthe owner and will definitely be returning in the future. I would recommend the Old Chapel to anybody you will have a brilliant stay.

Beautiful location and an absolutely beautiful cottage. I loved that it was a converted chapel. It was really well decorated and the kitchen was well equipped. It was so helpful that there were walking guides in the cottage and information about the local tourist attractions. The cottage was very peaceful and I didn't want to leave. We loved staying here for Christmas and I would recommend it to a friend. I would also like to stay again.

The cottage was wonderful. The layout and décor were better than the on-line photos.

The views of the countryside are beautiful, as are the the birds and the rest of the wildlife. Everything was on hand to make our stay as perfect as possible. The fire was ready to light if needed and there were various treats to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The owners of the property could not have been better; as lovely a couple as you could wish to meet.

Spotlessly clean, very friendly hosts, great location and exceptional value.

From the moment we arrived we knew that we had booked the perfect accommodation. We arrived 45 mins early but nothing was too much trouble. The inside was spotlessly clean and it was fully equipped including all the little extras such as milk, wine and Bakewell treats! We settled in well and the attention to details such as binoculars to watch the birds added to the whole experience. I was blown away that I had the opportunity to stay in such a unique cottage. The kitchen was fully equipped and it enabled us to stay in and make our own food and stay snuggled up watching a DVD! Wifi included! Perfect cottage and perfect hosts - Thank you x

The cottage has been completely refurbished but has not lost any of its charm. It is very central for touring all the tourist attractions but nice & quiet to come back & relax on the terrace in the evening.

A beautiful cottage in an idyll setting .We received a warm greeting from the owners Stuart & Mary who gave us some good tips on the best eating places locally. Mary also provided us with a welcome pack which included some of her homemade Bakewell Tarts, most agreeable . The cottage itself is very tastefully modernised without loosing it's authentic feel. We were very lucky with unseasonably good sunny weather so we were able to sit on the patio & enjoy the stunning view. It did get cool in the evening but the central heating was more than adequate to keep us warm & cosy. A place we will definitely return to.

The Chapel is very beautiful and special. It is a great place as a base for touring the area but there are amazing views from the house and a lovely patio to sit outside and enjoy them.

Had a fantastic time, enjoyed returning to The Old Chapel as much as we enjoyed our days out. The property was beautifully presented and situated, with amazing views and feels like a secluded haven, whilst remaining in easy distance of an array of amenities and access routes. Will definitely return and wholeheartedly recommend.
